Saint Louis University - Baguio City (SLU) was founded in

1911 by Belgian Catholic missionaries as a one-room school. The
institution steadily grew as it opened its first college courses in 1952,
and obtained university status in 1963. The University Hospital of
the Sacred Heart was opened in 1977, while the School of Computing
and Information Sciences, the latest among the nine SLU schools,
started its operations in 1990. In 2010 and 2013, new buildings were
opened in locations outside the main campus along Bonifacio Street.
In 2014, SLU is the largest Philippine university north of Manila, with
a population of more than 30,000 students in the undergraduate and
graduate levels, not including basic education. Driven by the CICM
missionary goals of total service, especially to the poorest, SLU has
developed a tradition of academic excellence, social responsibility,
and judicious management of resources.
