EXTREME STAMPEDE 2016 IS LAUNCHED:
RETURNING TO UTTOXETER RACECOURSE OCTOBER 23
After the success of last years event, the Extreme Stampede will make an appearance in
the Uttoxeter Racecourse calendar again on Sunday 23 October. The obstacle race will be
tackled for the second time by Staffordshire locals and people from across the UK in aid of
the British Heart Foundation.
The racecourse welcomes runners of all abilities to take part and this year participants can
choose to run 5 or 10 kilometres. Contestants will be pushed to their limits as they wade
through muddy water, climb over racing hurdles and face the challenge of the brand new
obstacle BIG ONE before reaching the finish line.
Winner of last years event, Rob Hall, said, It felt amazing to win the Extreme Stampede last
year. The day itself was a lot of fun and the atmosphere was really friendly. I would highly
recommend getting involved in Extreme Stampede to anyone who loves a challenge. I cant
wait to compete again this year.
Last year, over 360 runners took part in the challenge and raised money for the nations
leading heart charity. The funds raised helped to research into vital treatments that help
protect and save lives from heart disease in the UK and this year the racecourse aim to raise
even more.
Daniel Whitehead, Events Manager at Uttoxeter Racecourse, said, We are delighted to be
working in conjunction with British Heart Foundation again after the huge success of the
2015 Extreme Stampede obstacle race. After excellent feedback were really excited to
grow this years event whilst raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.
If you have a passion for running and would like the opportunity to raise money for charity,
then Extreme Stampede may be the perfect event for you. To sign up or to find out more
