Regulatory Information
FCC-15 User Information
The Brocade iSCSI Gateway has been tested and found to comply with the limits of the Class A digital
device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference when the Brocade iSCSI Gateway is operated in a commercial
environment. The Brocade iSCSI Gateway generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and,
if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to
the radio communications. Operation of the Brocade iSCSI Gateway in a residential area is likely to
cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at the
users own expense.
Warning per EN 55022
The Brocade iSCSI Gateway is a Class A product. In a domestic environment, this product may cause
radio interference, in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive
The WEEE directive places an obligation on manufacturers to take back electronics products
at the end of their useful life. For information about the directive and disposal of waste
equipment in the European Union, visit this Web site:

Safety Notices
Read and understand the following notices before installing the Brocade iSCSI Gateway.
z The power plug must be accessible at all times because it serves as the main
disconnecting vehicle.
z
Do not touch the power supplies when their power cords are connected. Line voltages
are present within the power supplies when their cords are connected.
The safety cover is an integral part of this product. Do not operate the unit without the
safety cover firmly in place. Operating the unit without the cover in place will invalidate
the safety approvals and pose a risk of fire and electrical hazards.
This product relies on the buildings wiring for short-circuit (overcurrent) protection.
Ensure that a fuse or circuit breaker no larger than 120 VAC, 15a U.S. (240 VAC, 10A
international) is used on the phase conductors (all current-carrying conductors).
The Brocade iSCSI Gateway is intended to be grounded. Ensure that the gateway is
connected to earth ground during normal use.

This guide provides instructions on how to mount the Brocade iSCSI Gateway and perform the basic
initial configuration for the gateway operating with the Brocade iSCSI Gateway Manager in a SAN
environment. This guide is intended as a supplement to the additional configuration information
described in the Brocade iSCSI Gateway documentation provided on the CD-ROM. The most recent
documentation and Release Notes can be obtained from http://www.brocade.com.
Mounting the Brocade iSCSI Gateway as a single unit in a 19 rack is described in Single
Mounting in Rack, page 4.
Two gateways can be joined and mounted together in a single 1U space in a 19 rack and is
described in Dual Mounting in Rack, page 6.
Mounting the Brocade iSCSI Gateway on a flat surface is described in Surface Mounting the
Brocade iSCSI Gateway, page 9.
Attaching the single Brocade iSCSI Gateway to the rack mounting posts
1. Insert the rear of the gateway between the rack mounting posts until the L-Brackets touch the
rack mounting posts (Figure 2).
2. Align the mounting holes on the L-Brackets with the mounting holes on the rack mounting
posts (Figure 2).
3. Using screws that you provide, attach the gateway to the rack mounting posts through the
L-Brackets and into the threaded holes in the rack mounting posts (Figure 2).
4. Make sure that the gateway is level.
Attaching the dual Brocade iSCSI Gateway to the rack mounting posts
1. Insert the rear of the dual gateway unit between the rack mounting posts until the L-Brackets
touch the rack mounting posts (Figure 6).
2. Align the mounting holes on the L-Brackets with the mounting holes on the rack mounting
posts (Figure 6).
3. Using screws that you provide, attach the dual gateway unit to the rack mounting posts
through the L-Brackets and into the threaded holes in the rack mounting posts (Figure 6).
