MID-WEEK EUCHARIST UPDATE


The 6 pm Mid-Week Eucharists continue. This Wednesday we celebrate the Feast of Daniel G.C. Wu, Priest and
Missionary among Chinese Americans, 1956 .
Baptism Reception To Be Held Sunday, April 3
A reception will be held Sunday, April 3 after the 10 AM service to help celebrate the baptism of Livezey and Harper
Sheehan. Please bring an item to share if you would like.
Sunday School
Sunday School teachers are needed for the following spring Sunday's. The signup sheet is on the small table by the
coffee table. You are encouraged to form a team to teach and parents are always helpful. Please sign up at coffee hour or

Another Friday Night at the Movies April 15
Our next movie night is Friday, April 15 at 5:30 PM. Pats Pizza will be featured and the movie to be shown is
Learning to Drive, a comedy starring Patricia Clarkson and Ben Kingsley. A top pick by AARP, this is a story of two
lost souls whose friendship helps each find their way.
Retreat! Retreat!
ECW members are considering hosting a retreat during 2016 for any and all women. If you have any suggestions or
ideas, please fill out a brief survey form so that it can be considered during our April and May meetings. Survey forms
have been distributed via email and they are also available in the Narthex. A basket to collect completed forms is also
available in the Narthex. Questions? Please contact Leslie.

IN OUR COMMUNITY
On Saturday, April 2nd a concert featuring pianist Bill Trowell and the MDI Jazz Ensemble will be offered at 4pm in St.
Saviours Episcopal Church, Bar Harbor. All proceeds from this event will go to support the Society of Anglican
Missionaries and Senders.
On Monday, April 4th at 11:45 am, one and all are invited to tour the Penobscot School on Indian Island. The event,
sponsored by the Committee on Indian Relations (CIR) of the Diocese of Maine is sponsoring this event. Guests will
meet at the Nick Sapiel building for a buffet provided by the CIR and then attend 2 sessions at the school involving the
academic and cultural activities of the children. For further information, please contact Jean Rohrer, a member of the

The Alcyon Center is an experience of being welcomed body, soul and spirit into the life of a small, practicing
contemplative community. The vision for the Center is rooted in a desire for bold and practical ways to meet the
spiritual hunger of our times. As well as the events listed below, the Center is open for personal or group retreats.
April 1 Quiet Day open to all (a period of silence from 9:00 am to noon; lunch with conversation noon to 1:00 pm;
silence 1:00 to 4:00 pm)
April 1 Soul Friends, a gathering of women for contemplation, discussion of a specific topic through poetry,
literature and personal experience and reflection-7-9pm
April 6 Bible Reconnaissance open to all an in depth approach to Bible study, concentrating on John 21:19-31
3:30-5:00 pm
April 13 Bible Reconnaissance open to all an in depth approach to Bible study, concentrating on John 10:22-30
3:30-5:00 pm
April 20 Bible Reconnaissance open to all an in depth approach to Bible Study, concentrating on John 13:31-35

April 22 At the Edges of Our Dying guest teacher Jan Booth, end-of-life nurse coach, educator, musician - the
new, emerging models for end of life care that are helping us re-imagine how we prepared to die 6:30-8:30 pm - $15
April 23 Following the Thread guest teacher Jan Booth, end of life nurse, educator, musician-an experiential
workshop in deep living and dying well- 9:30-4:30- $60
April 24-29 Alcyon Work Week (please call ahead as times are variable) a blend of work, meditation, silence, rest,
conversation, common meals, play and spiritual practice.
