* There is use of flashing light and smoke during the show.
* The performer lights a cigarette on stage and extinguishes it on the floor, close to the 30th minute.
* A big fan -or other system- will be needed to dry the costume after dress rehearsal and each show.
* Complete blackout is absolutely necessary for the show (no exit sign light spilling on stage at all)

1 suitcase 23 kg + 1 *light's
package 1.50 m length, 23 kg
*Light's package can be eliminated if 13-17 pieces of TL-M RS, 40watt/54 - (lamp
color 765) fluorescent lights can be provided by host - unless another festival
follows or proceeds where the light package is definately needed.
Space:
Relic best works in a bare space (no curtains, no dance floor) that can provide
frontal viewing where the audience is not seated lower than the stage level. Ideal
dimensions for the stage are: back-wall 6 - 9 meters wide and stage depth 8 - 11
meters. Ideal colour of back & side walls is light gray (page 1) or darker (page 10)
Tech rehearsal: The show is highly visual and depends a lot on how the live
sounds interact with the space. We strongly recommend one day mounting and
testing prior to the performance to ensure highest quality possible.
Technical Rider
Set up:
Before each performance:
-Three hours (3h) plus two (2) stage hands needed.
Strike:
-Two (2) stage hands needed and twenty minutes (20') to remove
everything off stage. Two hours (2h) to pack everything in suitcases.
Sound:
1 mic stand that can go from position A to B (pic right) in a very quick change
1 vocal mic shure sm 58 ( we provide it ), with XLR to XLR cord. The cord's length
should cover moving easily everywhere on stage
1 extra sm 58 or sm 57 mic
5 monitors (4 in each corner of the stage + 1 centre stage)
2 small monitors at the front of the stage 5 or 6 inches, it could be a simple
cheap active studio monitor M audio, krk or similar
2 FOH speakers suitable for the theatre left and right of the stage
1 CD player with auto-cue
1 audio board with at least 16 channels, 4 auxiliaries, 4 group outputs, stereo
output, shelving and parametric eq on every channel
Mackie Midas, soundcraft or similar
- ATTENTION: Monitor centre stage is also used as set for the performer to water
a plant on it, height could be from 0.45 m to 0.65 m and should be discretely
covered with plastic to protect it from possible water spill
Lights:
Light's package: 13-17 pieces of TL-M RS, 40watt/54 - (lamp color 765)
fluorescent lights; all tubes are set on stage as footlights (see pic right)
-We will need to peg a small nail on the theatre wall stage-right to hang light prop
-If the back wall is black or has a very dark colour, we may need to apply a "film"
of a light layer of talk-powder which is easily removed with a wet cloth (pages 1013). If talk-poweder is not an option then corrugated cardboard roll of 0.90 m high
and 25-35m long will be necessary
-We will need 5kg of casting plaster (also called: pltre art, yeso blanco, plaster of
paris, artist plaster, decorator gyspus) to simulate statue ruins (see pic right)
-We will need a regular cardboard box not smaller than 0.80 x 0.60 x 0.50 m, used
or new. Flaps kept vertical with 3 angle brackets (corner braces) (see pic right)
-We will need a big plant, fake or real : approx. dim: 2.40 m high and 0.70 - 0.90 m
wide. The plant should seem to come out of a flower pot approx. dim: 0.45 m
hight, base diameter 0.30 m and top diameter 0.50 m. If the plant is fake
styrofoam might be needed to fill the pot. We may have to cut the pot to bring
the flower close to the vertical column (explained below) as possible (see pics)
-We will need a regular , plain, common black stool. Best to not use IKEA but this
can be a solution as well. Please find some samples on page 11
-We will need a stripe of linoleum (1 m wide), stage-width long, placed backstage
in front of the fluorescent tubes series' wooden mask. (page 9) and aluminum
pipes of aprox 5 cm diameter of total length 8-10 meters
-Please provide two empty plastic bottles of water 1 or 1,5lt (no need to buy new
ones, we can use two that you would throw in the recycle bin) AND 2 regular but
small lighters (we used to carry them with us until airports stopped allowing it)
-We will need to construct, or find in your workshop, the following set pieces:
Two stage-width long, pieces of wood to mask front stage and back stage
fluorescent foot lights. Size: 0.22 m height (front stage) and 0,15 m height (back
stage). They should stand steady vertical with the use of angle brackets (corner
braces). Painted: front side with color of the floor and on back side coated with
aluminum foil or aluminum tape to simulate "footlights" reflector (pages 8 - 9)
One vertical column 2.25 m tall on a very steady base to hung props
from. We have used either a very heavy and steady coat rack or a light tripod well
grounded with weights at the base. Alternatively one could use a very steady
round-base mic stand with an extension to reach needed height (see page 8)
2-4 spare pieces of any thick (around 3cm) real wood -approximate dimensions:
[1.40 m x 1 m] and [2.40 m x 1.55 m] we will hammer a big nail on this one but it
should not be easily penetrated. The big nail should go in enough to stand by itself
but should not go through the wood (a metal placket can be placed in the backside of the wood). Ideal wood pieces are true wood pieces not engineered. Ideal
color is blond-ish wood. Depending on each space the wooden elements may have
to lay against the walls or to stand vertical (see pages 9-10)
