Saint Michael so abiding,

Teach us always to be loving.

Show us to find our way.

Let us then look back and reminisce the toils and travails of
times past. Let us not forget our parents, mentors, and other persons
whose passion, dedication, and guidance have molded us to become
gifted individuals as well as faithful citizens of the kingdom.

We celebrate today a new beginning. On this special occasion

we offer to God the gift of ourselves as we cherish the joys and expectations of the present moments.

Michaelinians, all far and near.

Lets honor our dear St. Michael;

As we commence our journey to build a better world, let us

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING

Jeremiah 20:10-13

A reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah.

I hear the whisperings of many:
"Terror on every side!
Denounce! let us denounce him!"
All those who were my friends
are on the watch for any misstep of mine.
"Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail,
and take our vengeance on him."
But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion:
my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.
In their failure they will be put to utter shame,
to lasting, unforgettable confusion.
O LORD of hosts, you who test the just,
who probe mind and heart,
Let me witness the vengeance you take on them,
for to you I have entrusted my cause.
Sing to the LORD,
praise the LORD,
For he has rescued the life of the poor
from the power of the wicked!

And so, each day as I travel on

I will remember that I'm a Paulinian,
committed to Jesus Christ my Lord,
to love and serve one another
till in Him we unite.
RECESSIONAL

The Word of the Lord.

All:

Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Psalm 18:2-3a, 3b-4, 5-6, 7

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and he heard my voice.

1. I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
2. My God, my rock of refuge,
my shield, the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!
Praised be the Lord, I exclaim,
and I am safe from my enemies.
3. The breakers of death surged round about me,

the destroying floods overwhelmed me;

the cords of the nether world enmeshed me,
the snares of death overtook me.
4. In my distress I called upon the Lord
and cried out to my God;
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears.
Commentator:

Please stand to honor the holy Gospel.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Sung)

GOSPEL

John 10:31-42

CLOSING HYMN:
Priest:

The Lord be with you.

PAULINIAN MISSION SONG

All:

And with your spirit.

My goal as a Paulinian is this:

to proclaim JESUS CHRIST as the GOOD NEWS to all...
in response to the need for TOTAL SALVATION
from materialism, unjust structures, and apathy
through EDUCATION and Care of the SICK.

Priest:

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.

All:

Glory to you, Lord!

Thus, if life seems rough and the way is dark,

I will remember this goal
to proclaim Christ at all times like Mary and Paul
for I believe what Jesus says:
"I am with you till the end of time"

20

The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus.

Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works
from my Father.
For which of these are you trying to stone me?"
The Jews answered him,
"We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy.
You, a man, are making yourself God."
Jesus answered them,
"Is it not written in your law, 'I said, 'You are gods?'"
5

If it calls them gods to whom the word of God came,

and Scripture cannot be set aside,
can you say that the one
whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world
blasphemes because I said, 'I am the Son of God?'
If I do not perform my Father's works, do not believe me;
but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me,
believe the works, so that you may realize and understand
that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."
Then they tried again to arrest him;
but he escaped from their power.
He went back across the Jordan
to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained.
Many came to him and said,
"John performed no sign,
but everything John said about this man was true."
And many there began to believe in him.
Priest:

The Gospel of the Lord.

All:

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!

God is the giver of all that is good, and the source

of all our hope and strength. Let us humbly ask
Him to heed our petitions, as we say:
LORD, IN YOUR GREAT LOVE, HEAR US!

1. For our Pope, Francis, and all Bishops and the clergy: that they
may be given strength to express in action the word they proclaim and continue to live in their mission of building and making the Church grow in the love of Christ. Let us pray to the
Lord.
2. For our government leaders: that they may continuously receive the grace in being the pioneers of authentic servantleadership and unity for the Filipino people. Let us pray to the
Lord.

our Michaelinian-Paulinian values of Charity, Charism, Commitment to Mission, Community and Christ-centeredness.
May we constantly be guided by the ideals of St. Michael and
St. Paul and serve the Lord, the Church, and our country with
integrity. Let us pray to the Lord.
4. For our families: that they may remain strong and united in
God's love and presence, that mothers may become constant
source of love for their families and that fathers may remain
faithful to their duties and provide for their families. Let us
pray to the Lord.
5. For our teachers and the office and auxiliary staff: that they
may carry out the noble task bestowed upon them as educators and may they tirelessly continue to form competent and
socially responsible Michaelinians. Let us pray to the Lord.

My dear Michaelinians, the Lord has given you

knowledge of faith through the intercession and
example of St. Michael and St. Paul. May their example inspire you to lead others to Christ by the
manner of your life. I shall now give you a lighted
candle. It is a sign of Jesus light, the gift of His
Spirit dwelling in you. Let Christs light and love
shine through as you continue to do the mission
He entrusted to you.

The principal lights her candle and the graduating class also lights their
individual candles as the following hymn is sung:
BLESSING OF ST. PAUL
May the God of Peace make you perfect and holy.
May you all be kept safe and blameless
Until the day Jesus comes again;
Until the day Jesus comes again.
Till then, we bid you Godspeed.
May Gods love enfold you.
Put your trust in Him for he cares for you.
The god who called you will not fail you.
Till we meet again, God keep you in His love.
Graduates:

O God, today, we thank You sincerely and humbly

for the many blessings you have showered on us:
Our parents who always stand by us to comfort us,
to guide us, to teach us, to love us.
The Sisters and our teachers who have taught us
to think with our mind and heart and who have
watched our growth, guided and formed our ideals
and principles and who were not only mentors but
friends.
Our classmates and our friends who have warmed
our hearts with kindness who have constantly believed in us, Who have brought out the best in us.
17

When chains bind you

I am the key to free you. (CHO)

6. For all the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres, especially those in

Saint Michael College: that through the intercession of Mary
our Mother, Saint Michael and St. Paul, they may be witnesses
to the values they teach as they inspire the students to be
agents of transformation not only within their own spheres
but also in the society beyond them. Let us pray to the Lord.

POUR UNTO ME
V1:

V2:

I knew a thirst from deep within;

Like a barren land longing for a rain
I sought refreshment far and near;
Yet not a drop I ever found.
But you knew the thirst I felt within
In your love you found me then
You offered me water that gushes forth
That I may never thirst again.

Chorus: Pour unto me my Lord

Buckets of water from your well
Wet this parched and lifeless land
And let life spring a new.
V3:

7. For the poor and the marginalized: that they may be filled with
love, courage and hope so that they may see the light of Christ
in their darkest days. Let us pray to the Lord.

As the drenched soil nourishes life

So my soul comes back to life
Let me inspire others as you did
That we may praise you the giver of life. (Chorus)

8. For all of us present here, may we continue to zealously proclaim Jesus Christ in our daily lives through acts of mercy towards others. Let us pray to the Lord.
Presider:

Lord, you guide all things by Your wisdom and

love. Help us to act always with trust in Your supporting hand. We ask these through the intercession of Mary and our Patron, St. Paul.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II
You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy,
therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them
like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body and + Blood
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he
took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis our Pope and Nereo our Bishop, and all the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the
hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray,
that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the blessed
Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify
you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the
unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for ever and ever.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and,
once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying: TAKE THIS,
ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY
BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH
WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

ACCLAMATION

OUR FATHER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,
giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and
minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood
of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Priest:

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously
