Minors defects (such as small pulls, small holes, or minor discolorations) are a natural part of the production of these high tech fabrics.
Manufacturers allow defects up to 1% of the area of the fabric. We find that actual defects are much less than that, but are impossible to avoid entirely.

A note about washing shielded fabric:

Poor water quality will damage Silver.
In particular Sulphur, high Fluoride, and low pH will react strongly with Silver and destroy conductivity and shielding performance.
Test your tap water on a small fabric swatch before washing your fabric/garment:
1- soak a small fabric swatch in tap water for 1 hour.
2- look for color change in the water or swatch, especially blackening.
3- air dry the swatch and check for conductivity (by touching an Ohm meter to 2 points on the fabric)
If color change or loss of conductivity occurs, DO NOT use tap water to wash/rinse your fabric. Use distilled or deionized, reverse osmosis water.
Washing will eventually degrade all fabrics with Silver fibers and reduce shielding performance. Discoloration over time is normal.
What is the proper way to test shielding performance?
Keep conductive fabrics away from electrical sockets and bare wires.

We like simple, and we like natural. TechniCot is both and we think youll like it as well. Weaving only pure Silver
and cotton fibers, we created this fabulous shielding and conductive fabric which is soft, good looking, and
completely safe for skin contact. Light gray in color, it feels luxurious in the hand, making it perfect for lining a
jacket, or making a shirt or light-weight pants. Looks terrific in curtains and drapes too. Many technical applications

Silver Jersey Knit Fabric is an amazing fabric with a little bit of one-way stretch and so many unique characteristics:

One side is almost all silver and has very high conductivity (~2 Ohm per sq)
Other side is almost all cotton and has low conductivity (~109 Ohm per sq). But when you press it, the
conductivity increases!

How much is a linear foot?

Because we offer so many different fabrics, of different widths, the easiest way to order is by
specifying how long the piece of fabric will be. We describe the length of the fabric purchased in
linear feet. So, for example, if you order 22 linear feet of a material, you will get a piece that is 22
feet long x the width of the material. The width of each material is listed near the end of the product

Carbon is conductive in some forms, and a very good microwave absorber. Using non-woven nearly-pure carbon fibers,
to achieve both good microwave shielding and high absorption, this unique material has the following specifications:

plastic laminated on both sides. This gives better durability and easier handling. Dust is reduced and skin

Application Notes:
1- Double or triple the layers of MW Absorbing Sheet to increase effectiveness.
2- To create a super high performance enclosure, you can combine a layer of this Microwave Absorber
material with a layer of a high performance fabric shield such as Pure Copper Polyester or Nickel Copper
Ripstop. Line the inside of the shield with Absorber... it will scavenge any RF which might leak in.
3- Grounding is not necessary with this material.
4- Minimize repeated bending/flexing of this material

Great material for RF, E-field shielding at room temperatures. Cover walls, cables, electric

TEXCARE
Laundry Detergent For Shielding Textiles With Silver Or Stainless Steel Threads.
Special recipe detergent preserves the shielding performance, saves the environment and is suitable for many allergy sufferers.
After many years of experience with shielding fabrics we found out that some laundry detergents are bad for the shielding attenuation. In addition, customers
who suffer from MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity syndrome) reported some brands cause an undesirable odor. This new laundry detergent, developed in
cooperation with a prestigious manufacturer of eco-detergents, will not react with our Silver or stainless steel shielding fabrics which are washable.
It contains no fragrances, coloring agents, complexing agents, preservatives, enzymes, genetic engineering, petrochemicals, and all ingredients are 100 %
biodegradable.
1 liter is enough for 20 loads. The dosage is independent of the water hardness. Pour 50 ml TEXCARE
per load in the detergent drawer or put it straight in the drum. Select delicate cycle with washing at
30C. Can also be used for hand washing. Please take note of the fabric care label, respective to
washability, ironing and drying!

QTC: Quantum Tunneling Composite

Transforms from Insulator to Conductor with Pressure
This flexible polymer exhibits extraordinary electrical resistance change

when deformed by squeezing, pulling or twisting. In practice, QTC
can be connected in quite simple ways to create anything from switches
to force sensors. In its normal, uncompressed state, QTC acts as a near
perfect insulator, but as it is gradually compressed it will allow more
current through until it is nearly a perfect conductor. Fun to experiment
with and great for turning anything with a screw-in battery
compartment into an effective dimmer switch! Can also be used
between layers of conductive fabric to make variable switches and

variable resistors or capacitors.
It is claimed that electrons pass through the insulation by a process called quantum tunneling. In classical physics, the electrons cannot pass through an
insulating barrier, but according to quantum theory a wave can and this is what happens in QTC. Another way of describing the quantum tunneling effect is
to say that a non-zero probability exists of electrons one side of the insulation barrier appearing on the other side.
QTC can be used as a solid state switch - in the "off" state it is a good insulator and in the "on" state it is as good as a metal conductor. It can be used to detect
even very small changes due to compression, tension or other stresses and it can carry significant currents allowing for the direct control of loads.

Great Way to Connect Leads to a Conductive Fabric
Working without alligator clips or snaps? This nontoxic, solvent free and water soluble material spreads easily and dries quickly to form a conductive bond
between most surfaces. Just squeeze a little bit onto your fabric, embed the bare copper wire lead into it and wait about an hour. It adheres well to a wide
range of synthetic and natural fabrics. Note that Electric Paint is water soluble, washing with soap and water will remove any paint which has been applied.
If you want to make it more durable, you can use waterproofing spray to protect the surface of the fabric. Use it to make conductive traces, repair circuit
boards, even make smart textiles!
The paints conductive properties do not degrade over time. In-house samples demonstrate that the material
can last years if treated properly and kept dry. Electric Paint is well suited for screen-printing with meshes
ranging from 43t to 90t. The paint is slightly resistive- at approximately 55 ohms per square. The
conductivity of Electric Paint increases as it dries, therefore wait until it is completely dry to test your
