1. Introduction
A hotel is an establishment that accommodates people. This is a place where guest can relax,
have a peaceful mind and where they can stay for a limited time. In a hotel, the staff should
entertain their guest and approach them nicely and politely. A hotel should have a relaxing
ambiance for the guest can unwind while waiting. With the growing competition of the
hospitality industry, the need for innovations and advancements should adopt by owners for them
to keep up with the trends. One of the examples is computerization, through this innovation; the
management of the hotel can do their transactions easily and accurately. And the main purpose of
this study focuses on enhancing the existing reservation system of the hotel for them to be a
more efficient business in a way of giving the user's convenience and help to increase the
contribution in a field of IT and society.
Today, most of the hotels provide goods and services using computer system. It helps to
perform tasks in an easy way with less time consumed. Some companies are becoming full
automated while others striving for the similar setting. According to Wikipedia, a hotel
reservation system, also known as a central reservation system (CRS) is a computerized system
that stores and distributes information of a hotel, resort, or other hospitality facilities. Hotel
reservation software is truly a big help for the hoteliers looking to provide 100% customer
satisfaction with less effort. The software will not only help automate the process of the
reservation but also helps the business to be competent to other hotel businesses. The proposed
software system will be used to manage the front-desk activities of a hotel. It will be able to
accept reservations, to record information about the hotel guests, to verify room availability, and
to allocate rooms to guests.
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this Software Requirements Specification (SRS) document is to present a
detailed description of the requirements for the Enhancement of Isabelle Royale Garden Hotel
Reservation System. This SRS will allow for a complete understanding of what is to be expected
and it will also explain the purpose and features of the system, what will the system do. This SRS
will serve as a basis for the foundation of the project.
The main goal of the project is to improve the existing system of the hotel. The new
proposed system will solve the issues being encountered by the user in doing different
transactions.
1.2 Document Convention
The document uses a common type of format. The font size that was used is 12-point and
14-point size is bold with a font-style Times New Format. The whole document has line
spacing of 2.0 except the tables and figures and references.
1.3 Intended Audiences and Reading Suggestions
The intended readers of this document are the developers of the site, testers, library
owners and managers and coordinators.
Any suggested changes to the requirements listed in this document should be included in
the last version of it so it can be a reference to developing and validating teams.
