Hitting your way to good health

In August 2014, Qiology has invited Master Stephen Tiong The Bamboo Healer- to
Sydney, Australia for the first major public teaching of the Wu Chu Muscle Detox Method, affectionately known as Bamboo Healing.
The Wu Chu Muscle Detox Method is a form of Dit-Da (Fall-Hit) Medicine/Therapy.

Dit-Da (Fall-Hit) Medicine/Therapy techniques are a component of Chinese Medicine,

most commonly practiced by practitioners of Chinese Martial Arts with healing methods
taught within their lineages. These methods are not usually taught openly, or have been
lost over time, due to the traditional secrecy of methods held within lineages, and the
unwillingness to share techniques, which may in fact be used on a wide scale to benefit
not only those with Martial Arts injuries, but chronic injuries from many origins.
This is the first time this course has been offered in Australia. As an essential, but often-missed component of Chinese Medicine, it is a unique opportunity to be able to learn
the foundations of these methods from Master Stephen Tiong - the worlds principal instructor in this form of healing.

When I first came across the Wu Chu Muscle Detox Technique, I quickly recognized that
it was one of the deepest and the most effective, traditional Sha/Muscle-Toxin removal
methods that I have yet come across, and found it necessary to make this treatment system available to Health Practitioners/Students, Martial artists and the general public
Peter Scarselletti
Director, Qiology

More about Wu Chu Muscle Detox Technique:

Wu Chu Muscle Detox Technique has its origins in Shao Lin Wu Chu Chuan (5 Ancestor
Fist) Kung Fus Dit-Da methods, which date back to the Shaolin Monastery, 525 AD, and
it is a technique that has been handed down from master to student over many years.
The Wu Chu Muscle Detox Technique falls under the Pak Sha (slapping) method of the
three main methods of Sha (Muscle/Connective Tissue Toxin) removal: Gua Sha (scraping), Pak Sha (slapping) or Niu Sha (pinching).
The method uses specific rhythmic striking techniques administered to the site of dysfunction with carefully selected bamboo sticks, currently hand-picked from the jungles of
Malaysia. The technique is only performed after palpatory diagnosis confirms suitability
for the application of this therapy. After the therapy is performed, stretching, self-massage and strengthening exercises are taught to the patient to assist in the most quick and
effective removal of toxic material from the muscles and connective tissue, to speed the
healing process.

Master Stephen Tiong (B. Arch) The Bamboo Healer

Master Stephen Tiong, is the
founder of the Wu Chu Muscle Detox Technique, and known globally
as The Bamboo Healer.
Master Tiong had studied martial
arts from a young age in Malaysia, and migrated to Adelaide,
South Australia in 1977 to pursue
studies in Architecture. With the
blessing of his Masters, he was
granted the qualification of Master
of Shao Lin Wu Chu Chuan (5 Ancestor Fist) Kung Fu in 1980 and
began teaching it publicly. At this
time Master Tiong also acquired
the ancient Chinese Medicine healing arts of Dit-Da from his Masters. He is now considered a modern pioneer for these methods in
the West. Master Tiong invigorated
Dit-Da teachings by integrating
the traditional knowledge passed
down to him with anatomy and
physiology of the musculoskeletal
system, to allow the principles to
be more completely understood by
modern medicine. In 2007, Master
Tiong named his Dit-Da healing
method: Wu Chu Muscle Detox
Technique, which is becoming
known globally due to its effectiveness in treating chronic injuries.

Master Tiong has become increasingly

well-know in recent years, due to treating many high-profile athletes suffering
from chronic injuries, and has featured
on national television numerous times
since 2007.
Master Tiong runs a busy, unique healing practice in Adelaide, South Australia, where he treats chronic musculoskeletal injuries using the Wu Chu Muscle
Detox Technique, and also teaches
Shaolin Wu Chu Chuan (5 Ancestor Fist)
Kung Fu.
