TASR optimization

1. Check Hardware problem or LAPD alarm.

2. Check the interference:


Same frequency or adjacent frequency interfere the assignment.
Check the TSC, TSC must equal BCC!
Check MAIO.

3. Check the TCH congestion:


TCH congestion can cause assignment failure.

4. Check the NMS TRX basic measurement:


Check two counters: 13002(Accumulative Time of TCH seize) and 13001(Number of
TCH seize), if the result of 13002/13001 is less than 20, mostly the TRX need to be
replaced.

5. Disable intra-cell handover to reduce the number of assignment failure.

6. Poor coverage can cause assignment failure: Check the parameter:


RXLEVACCESSMIN. Try changing 10 to 12 (not change greater than 15).

7. If Half-rate function not work normally, it will cause assignment failure when
assign to Half-rate channel.

HOSR optimization

Reliance's HOSR is just for outgoing handover. We can make a HO measurement;


find HO failure to which adjacent cell.

1. Check Hardware problem or LAPD alarm of adjacent cells.

2. Check the interference:


Same frequency or adjacent frequency interfere adjacent cell.

3. Check the TSC, MAIO.

4. Check the adjacent cell list:


Delete improper adjacent cell;
Check same frequency same BSIC in adjacent cells;
Check the congestion of adjacent cell.
Check the NMS TRX basic measurement of adjacent cell which has lots of handover
failure; find TRX which need to be changed.

5. Change HO parameter of adjacent cells which have lots of HO failure:


RxLevAccessMin: change 15 to 20 or greater than 20.

6. Change HO parameters of main sectors:


First, make Handover statistic measurement, find the reason of HO. Reason of uplink quality,
downlink quality, uplink level, downlink level and brink handover.
HO failure (Reason of level):HoUlLevThs: 15->12, HoDlLevThs: 15->18.N/P: 3/2->4/3
HO failure (Reason of quality): HoUlQualThs: 4->5, HoDlQualThs:4->5.N/P:3/2->4/3.
Notice: keep the parameters default unless the KPI is not good, and check the CDR
after change the parameters, change HO parameters can increase the number of call
drop.

7. Disable the parameter: IsRelatedCell.

8. Check "Carrier frequency service measurement":


Carrier frequency interference bands: find the interference.
UL/DL Average_Rx_Lev: change power level of the TRX if downlink signal level
always greater than Uplink.

CDR optimization

1. Check Hardware problem or LAPD alarm.

2. Check the interference:


Same frequency or adjacent frequency can cause call drop.

3. Check the TSC, MAIO.

4. Check the cause of call drop:


Dropped Call due to Radio Link Failure:
Poor coverage, change RXLEVACCESSMIN: 10->12 or 15.
Dropped Call due to Lapd Link Failure: Transmission problem, check Lapd alarm.
Dropped Call due to Handover Failure: change handover parameters. Check
adjacent cells.

5. Check the NMS TRX basic measurement to find TRX which need to be changed.

With the steps of above, most KPI issues can be solved. If you have more good
