The Arizona Law SB-1070

The law is not the private property of lawyers, nor is justice the
exclusive province of judges and juries. In the final analysis, true
justice is not a matter of courts and law books, but of a commitment in
each of us to liberty and mutual respect.
Jimmy Carter

Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes

through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and
work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent.
Martin Luther King Jr.

It is by the fortune of God that, in this country, we have three benefits:

freedom of speech, freedom of thought, and the wisdom never to use
either.
Mark Twain

All three of these poems talks about a certain thing such as:
Liberty, Change, Freedom, Mutual Respect and God. One talks about
how it’s not about the laws the Supreme Court or The President make
that should give us liberty it should be Mutual respect. In one it talks
about the change one has to do to get the freedom we want and how
one has to make a change to get it. Another talks about God and that
we have three main benefits for being here (The United States of
America) but that we never use them. But all this poems have one
main thing in common; they are only referring to Americans.
So what about all the rest of people that aren’t American but that
are in America? Should they not have any of these things? Should they
be treated like animals? Should they be treated like criminals even
though they haven’t done anything? Should their human rights be
violated? Should they have people being racist to them because of
there color of skin or their accent? Should they not have the Liberty
that they have never had? That is exactly what the Arizona law SB-
1070 does. But as no one can think alike, some people may support
the law and some disagree with the law.
Some people may think that if people wanted to get all the
famous things America is known for then they shouldn’t have come
illegally. Some people may think that the only way that The United
States of America can once again be a safe that all the immigrants
must go to where they came from. That if they went everything would
better of because everyone would get their fair chaired of what they
do. Some would even say that they don’t even deserve the right to
have liberty, to make a change, to have freedom, to have mutual
respect and to believe in god.
You if have not heard the Law SB-1070 and you have no idea
about what I’m talking about, this is what the law is basically about:

For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or

agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political
subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the
person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a
reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine
the immigration status of the person.

So now what I ask is for everyone that reads this document to please
write something that you think should be added to support to eight side of
the Law. And I should write put it all together and upload it again.
Thank you for your time.

Comments on The Arizona law SB-1070

“Clearly the good people of Arizona are fed up with the government
dragging their feet; even McCain is supporting the law (which goes
against what he proposed before). Probably the one good thing about
the law is that it will force the federal government to act on this
matter.”
Phantomimic

“I for one disagree with anything that allows our government more
control. Let me clarify. My country which I adore and my government
which I abhor in many ways. I grew close with many Hispanics in prison
and they told me one day," we didn’t cross the border, the border
crossed us." At the same time American jobs and the drug issue arises.
I am certainly no literary or political genius. I'm simply trying.”
PhillipJonesin

“No, I don't support the law, but just merely getting rid of it or not
implementing it will not solve the problem (which is serious). The
government MUST act and put out a Federal law which will then
overrule all state laws and become the law of the land.”
Phantomimic

“Im with it because illegal immigrant should have come here the right
way not illegally.”
Khur Shah
“I am not for the law but I do agree with Phantomimic, something
needs to be done to make the government react.”
S C Stackpole

“It seems too vague. For example, what would "reasonable suspicion”
mean? Would the officers be expected to assume that people from a
particular ethnic group are automatically suspicious? I would be
against it.”
RoseDQ2878

“I attended a meeting a few yrs ago about the immigration situation &
one thing I don't think a lot of people understand is that moving to this
country legally is not an easy thing. There can be waiting lists as long
as 15 yrs.”
RoseDQ2878

“I don't think just keep people out or sending people back is the
answer. The immigration situation is extremely complex and needs
ideas for solutions that take into consideration real human needs.”
RoseDQ2878
“True that.”
Nir37
“I know there have to be laws & some people do present a threat, but I
have met people who came here "illegally" & listened to their stories.
They are just trying to survive & don't have any good options.”
