Monday

Wednesday

Bible Reading: Mark 5:1-20; 1 Corinthians 9:1-12; Psalm 82; Judges 1-3

Bible Reading: Mark 6:1-13; 1 Corinthians 10:1-13; Psalm 84; Judges 6-7
Eph 5:1 says, Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And
walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.
This verse tells us what LOVE looks like practically: as Christ loved us
so we are called to love, and this love moved him to action in which he
gave himself up for us. The question then comes to you: Do you consider
yourself a loving person? In what ways this week are you giving yourself
up for the sake of others? You need not bleed as Christ did, but you must
give yourself up as Christ did: in your preferences, your choices, your use of
your time, and your desires. You must choose to consider others as more
important than yourself and thus let your life become, as Christ did, a
fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.
This verse also gives us insight into the heart motive behind LOVE. As
beloved children look up to their parents and do just as they do, so we too
look up to our heavenly Father with appreciation in our child-faith eyes and
a familial desire to do as he would do. He is a loving Father, so we long to
be loving children. If you want to be a loving person, you must learn to see
the Father with eyes of faith and you must learn to look to the example of
the Son, who loved perfectly, and gave himself up for us.

While the point of yesterdays text was that Jesus is the

Living Water that the world needs, its helpful to notice
some elements of Jesus evangelism. May you put these
into practice as you grow in your witness to the lost. 1) He
was willing to speak with anybody 2) He was relational.
He engaged her in a conversation. 3) He valued her because shes made in Gods image. He didnt devalue her
because of her sin. 4) He spoke truth to her. 5) He told
her of her real need. He didnt seek to be her therapist,
He sought to show her that He should be her everything.
6) He kept focused on His message. He didnt let her
sidetrack the conversation. He was there to talk about her
need for Living Water.

Tuesday

Thursday

Bible Reading: Mark 5:21-43; 1 Corinthians 9:13-27; Psalm 83; Judges 4-5

Bible Reading: Mark 6:14-29; 1 Corinthians 10:14-33; Psalm 85; Judges 8

Mark 5:21-43 recounts two healings of Jesus. Whats

important to note is that Jesus operates on His own timetable, which those in need dont often understand. For the
believer, whether we are healed of our physical ailments
in this life or the next, we can trust in Him for ultimate
healing. Dont miss what Christ commends in this section.
Christ commends desperate people who come to Him by
faith. In this sense its good to be desperate if, and only
if, we turn to Christ in our desperation. In your desperate
situation trust in Christ and His sovereign plan knowing
that He is a compassionate Savior.
