Job Overview
As an integral part of a team, the junior mechanical engineer will be responsible for designing, developing,
testing, and documenting medical device hardware. The junior mechanical engineer should be a highly
creative person with a keen eye for detail, have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team,
and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Produce working drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies
or product using SolidWorks
Create design specification documents
Contribute to all aspects of system level design
Review and approve product drawings and samples
Strong conceptual design and ability to systematically evaluate options and provide solutions
Write documentation in compliance with a documented quality management system
Participate in design review meetings to discuss results against expected output
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience with hardware/mechanical development in a regulated
environment (e.g. FDA, EU GMP, ISO 13485)
Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial CAD development using Solid Works
Able to work with all cross-functional teams (software, industrial design, marketing) to deliver a
successful product to market
Expertise or experience working with CAD drawing tools and 3D printing is a big plus
Strong problem solving skills
Highly Beneficial
Industrial experience with image guided surgery or other medical devices
Experience with system integration of software and hardware
Interpersonal Skills
Self-motivated and self-managing
