Paramount
pictures

Paramount is film studio, film production

company and motion picture distributor.
This company is consisted on of the big six
in production companies as it world-wide
and nationally recognised. In 2014,
paramount became the first major
Hollywood studio to distribute all of its films
in digital-form only. Paramount is the fifth
oldest film studio in the world alongside
being Americas oldest running studio, as it
was founded in 1912, making the company
104 years old. However, before paramount
was paramount it was originally famous
players film company. On 11th December
2005, it was released that paramount had
become the owner of DreamWorks in a
deal that was worth $1.6 billion dollars,
however the agreement didnt include
DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., the
most profitable part of the company that
went public the previous year. Although, in
2008 DreamWorks executives announced
that they were leaving Paramount and Relaunching an independent DreamWorks.
The DreamWorks trademarks remained
with DreamWorks Animation when that
company was spun off before the
Paramount purchase, and DreamWorks
Animation transferred the license to the
name to the new company.
RKO is a production company that is also
based in America but is also part of the big
five international production companies.
The business was formed after the KeithAlbee-Orpheum in 1938. However, by the
mid 1940s the company was under new
management of the control of investor
Floyd Odlum. The company employed
some big stars at the beginning including
for its series of musicals starring Fred
Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the mid-tolate 1930s. Actors Katharine Hepburn and,
later, Robert Mitchum had their first major
successes at the studio too.
White lantern film is a feature film
production company that is located on the
south coast within England. They show a
passionate love for film and have even
released award-winning environmental
documentary DRYING FOR FREEDOM
and psychological thriller EMULSION.
They are a part of the BFI film academy,
inspiring young actors and filmmakers to
support the local film industry within their
hometown of Bournemouth through BReel, a regular film networking and
screening event.

Hammer mainly horror, after producing
films like Dracula, the curse of
Frankenstein and The mummy, which
expanded into a number of sequels.
However, only 1/3 of hammers films are

foxtrot due to be released
March 4th. Everybody
wants some due to be
released April 2016 and
Teenage mutant ninja
turtles: Out of the
shadows which will be
available in cinema June
3rd 2016. Finally, star Trek
beyond for which is due
release in theatres on
July the 22nd. From these
films that are due to be
released it is clear to see
that they are not the type
of genres that we want or
are creating. Therefore,
making this production
company irrelevant to our
idea. Overall, this
company shall not be
used in our work.

Conglomerates

RKO have a variety of genres for

which include: Thrillers, comedy,
Horrors, Musicals, Film noir and
Westerns. However, some of the
films that they have produced are:
Are we done yet? Half-moon street,
Mesmerised, Ritual, Holiday affair
and Hot pursuit are a few to name
the least. Overall, I feel that this
shall not be used as I feel it is oldfashioned and out dated compared
to the fresh vibe we are trying to
achieve.

Independent

The films that they have created are

some movies which include:
Emulsion and Drying for freedom.
They have also created a variety of
short films which are: silent things,
Flushed and Final word. Through
the research I found that the films
that they have produced link more
to the idea and theme of thriller as
emulsion is a psychological thriller
and k-shop which is a thriller
borderline horror. However, the
short films are about relationships,
confidence and self-esteem and
war. Contrasting against the movies
that they have made. Overall, I feel
that this is a suitable production to
incorporate as it portrays
psychological thrillers for which is
what we have tried to explore in our
work.
The genre of films in which hammer
produces is mainly horror and
thriller. Linking heavily to what we
have created. Some of the films that
they have produced are: fear in the
night, fanatic, Dr Jekyll and sister
Hyde, the devil ship pirates, The

When looking at films tha

found that they had none
to offer in this category,
The last film however that
was released was in 2011
which was A LATE
QUARTET for which

called K-shop. The film
has been inspired by
Sweeney Todd. The Kshop is about a kebab

Although from what I can

see there are no new and
upcoming films that have
had a variety of recent
films but more specifically
Woman in black: angel of
death is the most recent

horror, but the company also tackled other

film genres including psychological
thrillers, noir, historical epic and sci-fi.
Hammer has nearly 300 titles and vast
catalogue of rich character canon including
classic monsters, mobsters and
psychopaths. They have a vast variety of
films that they have released including,
Frankenweenie, ShankShaw redemption
and Jurassic park. Recent films that have
been released in the last few years are he
worldwide box office smash The Woman in
Black, as well as Let Me In, and 2014
paranormal thriller The Quiet Ones.

screened worldwide, won critical acclaim
that has reached to a seven figure budget
film making company.

Showing that they are an expert in
thriller and horrors of all decades
and errs. Overall, we feel that this is
a suitable candidate as the
company show experience as their
company is dedicated to horrors
and thrillers. However, they also
have a vast catalogue of different
paths within thriller and horrors so
our thriller would defiantly find a
path within this company. For these
reason we shall be using Hammer
as one of our production
companies.

which is a 8 minute short film about

is 3 minutes long and is based upon

experiment with fate and

zomblogalypse is cult,
zombie comedy series
following three
apocalypse survivors in
new york.
