from Vidyamandir Classes. Test Room is a feature rich, smart client application which
helps you take as well as manage all aspects of tests from Vidyamandir Classes. It also
has a number of other features like Auto save, Single sign on navigation, rich user
interface, configurable themes, configurable questions to be seen on a page and allows
you to take tests, as well as revise questions with or without internet, with ease.
Vidyamandir Classes has been created under the guidance of some of the leading
educators in the country and is developed in a way to provide the most informative and
relevant feedback to students. You get to compete with students not only from your
institute or city or state, but from the entire country. This way, you compete with some of
the best minds in the country. A unique set of reports in Vidyamandir Classes allows you
to analyze your performance and plan your preparation accordingly. Each test is uniquely
designed and structured to improve your concepts and test taking ability.
This handbook has been designed to give you an overview of Test Room.

Work with or without internet: Students can use Test Room even if there is no internet
connection at their homes. All you need is just a computer and you can take tests using Test
Room, as well as submit answer files for these tests and view their result. This is especially
useful for students who do not have an internet connection at home or have very low internet
bandwidth.
Take tests without any headache of Power cuts: Test Room automatically saves a test
while a student is taking it. In case, the test is interrupted due to any reason (such as power
failure), the student can easily resume the test later without losing any work.
Work securely: Test Room provides a secured and encrypted data communication to and
from the Vidyamandir Classes server, ensuring that your privacy is always maintained.
Customize Test Room to match your style: Test Room offers customization options in
terms of color theme of Test Room, as well as the number of questions a student views on
each page while taking a test.
Prerequisites
The pre-requisites for installing and running Test Room, a state of the art desktop application to
take as well as manage all aspects of Vidyamandir Classes tests are:

under My Test Room. Find the test which you want to download, click on the
select the Download Test option. Once you have saved that test on the local machine, copy it
onto a disk or other portable media and bring that test to the machine on which Test Room is
installed. Log on to Test Room and then click on the Import icon. This would open a new
window. Click on the Browse button and then locate the test which you have bought with you.
Next, click on the Import button to get that test into Test Room. After the test is successfully
imported, go to the Tests List page where you will see that the test is now available to be taken.
Starting a Test
Go to the Tests List page or Take Test page. Tests List page shows the complete list of all the
tests present in Test Room. Take Test page shows only those tests which are meant to be taken.
To start a test, click on the Start Test Button,
opens the cover note for the test showing the details of the test and general instructions to be
followed while taking the test. Now, click on the

Attempting different types of questions
There are five different types of questions which can be present while taking a test. These are:
Single choice question: In these questions, amongst the many listed choices, only one is
the correct solution or the answer. Choices for the question are listed with radio buttons.
Single choice questions can be attempted by selecting the radio button corresponding to the
correct answer.
Multiple choice question: In these questions, amongst the many listed choices, one or more
than one choice can be the correct solution or the answer. Choices for the question are listed
with check boxes. Multiple choice questions can be attempted by checking the check box(s)
corresponding to the correct answer(s).
Fill in the blanks: In these questions, a Four digit blank is to be filled. Only numerals would
fit in this blank. Choices for the question are listed in a matrix form, and for 1000s, 100s,
10s and 1s place, a 0-9 numeral listing is given. For e.g., if 1234 is to be entered as answer
in this type of question, in the 1000s row, click on 1, in the 100s row, click on 2, in the 10s
row, click on 3 and in the 1s row, click on 4.
Match the following: In these questions, a table with two columns is listed. Entities in left
column are to be matched with entities in the right column. Any number of entities in the right
column can match to a single entity in the left column. Choices for the question are listed in a
matrix form, with each entity in the left column mapped to all the entities in the right column.
For e.g., if A and B are listed in the left column and 1, 2 and 3 are listed in the right column,
and for A, correct matches are 2 and 3 and for B, correct matches are 1 and 3, then A-2 and
A-3 are to be clicked in As row and B-1 and B-3 are to be clicked in the Bs row.
Passage type question: In these questions, a comprehension is followed by multiple
questions. Questions are listed in the usual way, however for each Passage type question,
the passage is listed above the question. Passage type questions can be attempted by
reading the passage, then the questions and then selecting the options corresponding to the
correct answer for each question.
If you feel that you have attempted the question by mistake and now you dont want to
attempt the question, click on the
button.

sections in the test, then clicking on the Next button would first display the next
sections cover note and then the questions would follow.

Reviewing Test
Review Test allows you to analyze your test at any time, so that you can view the Attempted,
Un-attempted and Marked for review questions. To review your test:

A Review Test window opens. Here, all the answered questions are marked with a Y
under the Attempted header. All the questions which have been marked for review are
listed with a Y under the Review header.
You can move to any question from the Review table by clicking on the question to
select it, and then clicking on the
button.

Test Room automatically saves your test while you are taking it. In case, the test is interrupted
due to any reason (such as power failure), you can easily resume the test later without losing any
important work.

Ending Test
You can end a test, either willingly or the test will end by itself, once the duration is over. To end a
test:

Please go to My Tests section under My Test Room. Find the test whose answer file is to be
uploaded, click on the
icon for this test and then select the Upload Test Solution action.
Locate the answer file which is to be uploaded and then click on the Upload button. After the
answer file is successfully submitted, the status of the test is changed to submitted.
Quick Result
Click on the Quick Result link present in the left hand pane. It shows you a list of all the tests
whose results are available and the percentile scores are displayed against each test.
Detailed Result
Viewing detailed result navigates you to the My Performance Reports page on Vidyamandir
Classess website. On this page, you can choose to view any of the listed reports. These reports
are:
Test Report
Questions Report
Sections Report
Topics Report
Complexity Report
Geographical Report
Averages Report
Toppers Report
Progress Report
To view these detailed reports, click on the Reports icon. This will take you to My Performance
Reports page. Click on the desired reports name to see the report.
You can also choose to view a specific report by selecting the desired report from the Reports
menu. This will show you the report for the most recently submitted test. If you want to see the
Test Report for a specific test then select that sets from Change test button in reports page
Revision
Revision lets you catch a quick glance of all the questions which you have got till now in different
tests. Some important features of Revision are:

Each Question can be marked on a 5 star basis. So, you can tag questions, like difficult
questions can be 5 starred, and then use this basis to search questions.

Synchronize option: You can use the synchronize option to get the solutions to tests
you have submitted. For this, you need to click on the Sync link in the left hand navigation
pane and then check on the 'Download Detailed Solutions available for revision' option.

Settings: You can also use the Automatic settings present under Appearance to
configure automatic download of the solutions to submitted test. To configure this, please
click on the Settings link in the left hand navigation pane and then check the
'Autodownload Solutions after Test submission' option.
Export answer file and then submit it through the Vidyamandir website.
Now, download the Solutions file from the website and import it in Test Room.

Other Add-ons
Single sign on navigation to website and reports
If you have an internet connection, you can directly navigate to the Vidyamandir Classess
website without needing to open a browser and then logging onto the website. Important website
functionalities are now just a click away from Test Room.
You can edit your profile and buy a new test series by simply choosing the desired option from
the Resources menu. You can also view your performance reports by clicking on the Reports icon
or by selecting a specific report from the Reports menu.
Auto-save feature
Test Room automatically saves your test while you are taking it. In case, the test is interrupted
due to any reason (such as power failure), you can easily resume the test later without losing any
important work.
Quick Result
Quick result lets you see your percentile scores in the tests without being taken to the
Vidyamandir Classess website. Clicking on the Quick Result link present in the left pane shows
you a list of all the tests whose results are available and percentile scores are displayed against
each test. On this page, you can quickly glance through your percentile scores in the tests.

Miscellaneous
Filtering tests
Filtering allows you to view a desired list of tests rather than viewing the complete list. Filtering of
tests can be done on Course name and Test Status. To filter the Tests list:
1. Click on the Filter tab.
2. Choose the Course and Test Status on the basis of which you want the Tests list to be
filtered.
You can check the Show Archived check box to view the archived tests too.
Sorting tests
You can sort various tests present in the Tests List page or the Take Test page on various
parameters like Test Name, Course name, Test Status and Date of Purchase. To sort the list:
Click on any of the following headers to sort the list in ascending order.
Clicking again on the same header will reverse sort the list.
Searching tests
Searching provides a faster means to view the desired test(s). Searching is a combined result of
the entered Search Keyword and the Field you choose i.e. Test Name, Course, Test Status or
Date of Purchase. To search test(s):
Click on the Search tab. choose the required field and enter the keyword in the Search
keyword field.
Check the Show Archived check box to view the Archived tests too.

Logging Off
Log off ends your current session with Test Room. In order to use Test Room again, you need to
re-login. Test Room remains open for easy access the next time you, or someone else, logs in.
To log off, click on the Log off icon present on the Home page. Alternatively, you can also select
the Log off option from the File menu.
Important Instructions
We would suggest you to refer to the following important instructions:
Start a test only when you feel you do not need a break in between.
Once you have taken a test, try submitting its answer file as early as you can. Not
submitting the answer file is as good as not taking the test at all.
Do not discuss the test with your peers for fair result evaluation.
Do not share your Email Id and Password with your friends or peers for your benefit.
