All students are well into the syllabus needed for their mock in November. They should already be
aware of some major areas of the syllabus upon which they need to work.
All students will analyse their mock papers and have a list of their weakest areas. This should form
the basis of their on going revision.
Students will receive a second mock examination with both papers before Easter this should provide
a goal for students to improve on their result from before Christmas and hopefully achieve at least
their target grade.

the reading tasks around the set texts may also be useful for students to attempt.

and essay type questions.
3. Writing in exam conditions for 45 minutes using past papers and mark schemes.
Students can access past papers and mark schemes on ItsLearning and on the AQA website
(www.aqa.org.uk). They should follow the instructions on these papers to answer the questions, and
then use the mark schemes to assess their ideas. It is important that all students are prepared to write
quickly and under pressure, so they should stick to the advised time limits to get a realistic impression
of the demands of the exam.
4. Re-reading all poems and summarising the key content, themes and language used in each.
Using their notes, students need to re-read all of the poems from the relationships section of the

each.
5. Using the BBC Bitesize website
This website has activities based around the texts the students study, including video clips, plot
