1. Around the Expo, what product or project did you like?
In the Energetic Efficiently Expo there were a lot of products focused in the
reduction of energy use and the materials of building places, one that attracted
my attention was the Solux company project,
the idea consisted in a skylight that transported
sunlight to the different rooms of a house
without letting heat to pass into the building.
This skylight are programed so the user
choose when does the grids need to open to let the sun pass, and when do they
need to stay close, this featured it is useful if you are willing to sleep more even
if the sun dawn. The mechanism also adds an spreaders so light can be spread
all around the room and not only a certain location. In night there will be also no
problem because the system can use bulbs, the only disadvantage is that this
bulbs will use the houses energy.
2. What was the conference about?
The conference was about the evaluation of energy use in a
building, with Sergio Rodriguez. He told us about the
excessive us of energy that we use and what is the challenge
to create a good ecological building.
3. What did you learn?

Making the real ecological house can be very challenging. There are several
variables we should take care about if creating a building. The exhibitor affirm
that todays buildings are unfocused from the real challenged for the
architecture. He said that the human is focused on creating a low value and
quality build that in long term view it will
cost a lot to maintain, the way this worked
is for example, the skyscrapers made only
by glass walls, these buildings are one of
the most inconvenient place for a human
being to be working specially for all the
sunlight that will pass throw this windows and generate big quantities of heat.
The way that people solve this problem is to hang on curtains and use airconditioned. The problem is that architectures do not see, other than just
aesthetic, and do not caring about the big quantities of light, energy and
resources

needed

to

maintain

this

building

working. Most of
the

architectures

focused

on

building something and then certificated as

green, but this it is not the way it should be
done. The exhibitor show us a program where he make a house in a
tridimensional world. The purpose of this program it was to add variables like
the use of energy, water, resource and how the weather and sunlight will affect
not only the house but also the human comfort. Automatically the program will
throw the annual use of energy and tells users some advices .

4. Did you agree with the speaker?

Yes, I liked the idea of first creating a tridimensional model of the buildings and
estimated factors of it, and the when it is finally green start building it. I would
also like that the community get more interested for this projects and start
asking for then. I think that the Tool that users the exhibitor should be use in the
new generations of architectures as an obligatory standard.

5. What is your overall opinion on the Expo and conference you

attended?
Being able to assist to this Expo was a great experience to learn more about of
modern technologies and use this advantage not only for our benefit but also for
the world. The conference of the use of energy it was create, especially when
the exhibitor started used the program, in that moment I think about that all
architectures must us that program to create buildings like as a real requirement
here in Mexico. Finally my thoughts about the Expo are great, but I would like
that next year there were more people interested in these events, and not only
that, also having the possibility of start using all these great tech in a must
easier and affordable way.
