An Introduction to Collabor

Collabor is a new age company that uses web technologies to delight the user by serving a real
need.

It is formed by seasoned professionals who have worked with companies like Infosys, Siemens
Nixdorf, Virtusa, Syntel, Ion Exchange, Jasubhai Digital Media and i-Vantage. Besides, it is
supported by a 18 year old I.T. services company that has 7 locations worldwide, The Boston
Group. Collabor was formed in 2004 at Boston, U.S.A. It has established its Hyderabad Office in
December. 2006.

Collabor's first venture is a web 2.0 portal for India ( a little like Yahoo, rediff) but with a
difference. The portal is named as "Birbal" - The wise. Birbal's goal is to serve the real needs
of the user without letting existing technology define what is possible and what is not. Birbal
intends to:

1) Enable Search, Comparison and Review of service verticals like Air Travel, Hotels, Cars,
Consumer Finance and Food.
2) Enable a transact facilitation interface that allows the user to access the service provider of
choice, without limitations of time, geography and knowledge.

The Requirement:

Title: Sr. Software Engineer - Web Solutions.

Job Description:
 Write code for the features and functionality for projects and online properties of
Collabor; under guidance and direction from Chief Technical Architect, in the tools and
platforms chosen
 Maintain, update and upgrade the database supporting the systems above as required
 Write documentation for the system

”Need-to-Have” Qualifications
 BE/ME or equivalent educational degree with 3 years of experience with software
development of web-based applications using Java, JSP, J2EE ( Servlets, Struts &
hibernate) and MySQL in a Unix and Windows environment
 Strong Knowledge in Database.
 Above average software development skills, and experience building web based
projects, businesses or sites. Must be comfortable working on high profile, time-critical
projects and high reliability and performance standards
 Excellent communication, interpersonal, and creative problem solving skills.
 Experience with rapid iterative development models

”Good-to-have” Qualifications
 Strong experience with all phases of software development methodology
 Experience in Swings, Beans and different architectures.
 Intuitive understanding of computer and network architecture and operation, software
performance trade-offs, and algorithm design
