building by sound design. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the
workpalce. Avoid excessive raising dust. Regularly removing deposit of
dust is necessary.
Systems for transport or storage of powders : take precautions against
dust explosions by means of 1) electrically earthed equipment, 2)
application of instruments with protections and accordingly the legislation,
in Europe the ATEX rules, 3) a process design which can be operated
safely and accordingly the legislation. All handling equipment must be
properly grounded. See also Section 3.

: Store the product cool and dry, protected against extreme weather
conditions.

Section 8 - Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures

: Prevent dust build up on equipment by explosion proof vacuum cleaning

regularly. Use ventilation in the surrounding. See also section. 7

Personal protective equipment : Respiratory protection : In case of raising dust a breathing protection is
recommended mask filter type FFP2(European standard) for fine
particles.
Hand Protection : Suitable gloves are recommended.

Remark

: Starch products are manufactured form a botanical resources.

As consequence the dust explosion properties may vary. The dust
explosion parameters have been derived with consideration of
foreseeable variations in circumstances. However, local conditions may
result in high temperatures add/or low moisture. In case when the product
is deposited in such conditions, some explosion parameters can be
negatively influenced, resulting in higher risk.
