1. Purpose
Purpose of this method statement is to define the sequence of switchgears installation and safe execution
of the job.

2. Scope
The procedure applies for switchgears transportation, handling, and installation at all workplaces where
these activities will be performed.

SM is the first responsible point to follow this procedure,


In cases when the staff do not apply or do not fulfill requirement of this
procedure SM will do required actions such as to inform people who are
unaware, to supply right material, machinery and equipment and/or to ensure
specific training to improve teams ability.
To revise this procedure if it is necessary.
To assign responsible engineers and foremen, to coordinate all activities
To ensure training, informing and updating people who work to apply this
procedure regardless their position,
To coordinate with PPR.

6. IMPLEMENTATION
6.1. General
Switchgears is used for distributing and controlling the system.

6.2. Transport
Transportation of Switchgears is placed properly. Crane will be used and all necessary
precaution matures will be taken. Provide truck to transportation of Switchgears and accessories
from storage area to the field. Use crane for lifting and carrying Switchgears. When Crane will
be used according to 7.3. lifting operation. It will be stayed suitable places, so it prevents to work
and workers work safely.

6.3. Preparing Element Prior to Installation


Check last revision of approved project then start installation. Request form for materials will be
prepared. Projects will be inspected and it will be selected where personnel will start installation

of Switchgears. After it reaches the site, it will be unpacked according to instruction about
switchgears.

6.4. Installation
Installation will be carried out in accordance with the last approved revision of the installation
projects. Switchgears will be transported from storage to site with crane and pickup. While it will
be carried, it will be fixed safely in the truck board. The assembly drawings will be checked on
the place of installation. At the working area, the panels will be placed in a way that will not
prevent safe access and egress. According to projects layout, it will be taken in area. Personnel
will use transpallet and rods for alignment of panels. Rods will be helped alignment of panels.
Panels will be placed from crane to transpallet. Then it will be unpacked according to instruction
on switchgears. Panels will be leveled with help of rods. Inside the room winch, which is a
manual device that is used to pull panel, will be used properly. Operator documents will be
prepared by us and training will be given by HSE. All documents will be checked. Crane will be
set safe area. Crane will be used by competent person. Panels will be lifted according to 7.3.
lifting operation. Installation of panels will be executed according to the requirements. Panel will
be erected others with bolts, so alignment will be made properly. Then all panels will be erected
on the floor, when the panels will be sure same level. PPE will be used all level of action. When
all of works will be done, it will be controlled all equipment and bolts that is ready to use. After
the works is done daily, working areas will be cleaned.

7. HSE
7.1. Personal protective equipment
PPE will be provided and used in accordance with requirements. Helmet, safety glasses, high
visibility vest, and safety shoes will be used at all the times.
When work in dusty environment personnel will use dust protective half masks.
Hearing protection will be used where exposure levels exceed 85 dB.
When work at height fall arrest system will be used if other protective measures are not feasible.

7.2. Machinery
All machinery, equipment and tools will be maintained in good working order; will be inspected
regularly; and will be operated by competent persons. All necessary measures will be in place in
order to prevent environmental pollution. In case of oil spill an immediate actions will be taken
to localize and clean the area in accordance with the procedure. Guards will be in place to protect
workers from moving parts. Electrical tools will be double insulated and grounded connected to
ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI).
All vehicles will have backing warning device. Banks man will guide vehicles in narrow work
places and when reversing. Vehicles will not pass, will not be positioned or parked close to
excavation edges.

7.3. Lifting operations


Execution of the lifting operations will comply with the provisions of the requirements.

Cranes will be set on even flat ground. Pads will be used under the outriggers feet where
necessary.
When work is close to excavation the lifting equipment will be positioned at least 1 meter away
from the excavation edge in order to prevent earth collapse. Working limits of the lifting
equipment stipulated by the manufacturer will not be exceeded. Safe clearance will be kept from
overhead power lines.
Lifting of the stacks of panels will be carried out only with fabric slings with the proper safe
working load limit. The slings will be inspected and color-coded.
Lifting operation shall be segregated from other persons on site. All personnel and third parties
will be kept out of any area where they might be struck or crushed by a load or lifting equipment
if it swings, shifts or falls.
Operators of lifting equipment will be able to see the full path of the load or have a signaler with
an appropriate means of communication to guide them. Operator will obey an emergency stop
signal at all times, no matter who gives it. The operator will not leave the operating controls
while the load is suspended.
Taglines will be used where it is necessary load to be guided and controlled. Taglines of
nonconductive material will be used when lifting operation is close to overhead power lines.
Lifting equipment will not be used in the open air where weather conditions could affect the
integrity of the equipment or expose persons to danger.
Lifting equipment will not be used in a manner likely to cause it to overturn.

7.4. Access and housekeeping


Safe access to the workplace will be provided at all times. Guardrails will be provided at the
edges and openings where risk of fall from 1.5 m presents.
Where scaffolding is in use it will meet the requirements. The scaffoldings will be erected on a
firm base; will be fixed to existing steel structure; the platforms will be fully covered and guard
rails will be installed.
Floor opening will be all times covered safely.
Walkways will be kept clear of trash, debris and other materials to prevent slipping and tripping.
The polyethylene foil will be collected and disposed in accordance with the Waste management
plan.

7.5. Manual handling


Where manual handling cannot be avoided tasks will be designed to minimize the
weight, range of motion, and frequency of the activity. The distance between the
person and the object being handled will be as small as possible. Employees will use
good manual handling techniques for lifting, pulling or pushing. Material handling
equipment will be easy to move, with handles that can be easily grasped in an upright
posture. Heavy objects will be stored at waist level. Manual handling training will be
delivered.

7.6. Fire prevention and protection


All the necessary fire prevention measures will be taken in accordance with Procedure for
emergencies. The measures will be communicated with the staff involved in the job.

7.7. Emergency response


In order to minimize the consequences and to provide adequate response in case of emergency
the involved staff will receive training in accordance with the Procedure for emergencies.
