parking at first pres

Part of making our church a welcoming place for guests
is to make our campus as accessible as possible.
The good news is, the church shares ownership in a parking
garage across the street, and helps to maintain it so you can
easily find free parking every Sunday and during the week.
We leave street and on-campus parking for visitors, seniors
and those who need extra accessibility to the buildings.
If you are a church member and would like to purchase
a parking card for the church garage for $10, please stop
by the lobby desk at Edington Ministry Center during
the week.

NOTES

traditional worship
Easter Sunday seems like a long time ago. We are
reminded in Scripture that Jesus remained on earth
spending time with people after His resurrection. If
we keep in the same sequence of time, His ascension
and bodily return to heaven would occur this coming
Thursday. He left from the Mount of Olives just east
of Jerusalem. Matthew records that when they saw
him [Jesus], they worshiped him, but some doubted.
Does that strike you as odd? They were looking at the
risen Lord, with wounds in His hands and feet and
yet they still doubted? How could that be? Doubting
never changes the facts. We are free to doubt God, but
it changes nothing about history and reality. There
will always be people who doubt what is right in front
of their noses. We continue to celebrate and worship
the risen, ascended Lord who has graciously given
us forgiveness of sin, unconditional love, direction
and purpose in life, in this world and in the world to
come. We repeat the good news, as the anthem says,
Til Christ, my God is crowned as King and all the earth shall
own Him Lord!
