Background of Event
Cross Border Transaction has encouraged the growth of regional production networks and production
sharing in ASEAN and Asia Pacific. The vast growing activities of cross border transaction among
countries including Indonesia is coherent with the demand of law practitioner foreseeing the
complication resulted from the activities.
We are in an era of globalization in which international business transactions can no longer be viewed as
dominated by developed nations of North America and Europe. The increasing importance of developing
nations, as well as the emergence of China and Asia as economic powers requires in-depth coverage of
non-Western countries, regions and cultures which trade with Western developed countries.
International law has been evolving for centuries to provide a framework for international and
transnational activities. Like other areas of the law, one of the major objectives of the laws that govern
international trade is to allow participants to deal with each other with a certain level of predictability
and, thus, to reduce misunderstanding and avoid conflicts and confrontations.
Indonesia has play an important role in the development of international transaction in South-East Asia,
Asian countries has been active engaging in cross-border transaction, resulted in a various practice of
cross border contracts.
Captivating the demand and the rapid growth of the increased cross border transaction In Indonesia ,
ALSA Indonesia as an organization that are envisioned to increase the knowledge and enrich the member
with information on the vast legal system in Asia sees the importance of the practice of cross border
transaction with its corresponding international arbitration as a dispute settlement and for the legal
profesional in Indonesia to be specific.
In recognition of the important role of law in developing area of cross border transaction, the National
Board of Asian Law Student Association created a high-level workshop entitled
ALSA Indonesia Legal Training & Workshop.
Objectives
Based on Article 2 Section 4 of ALSA Constitution, Asian Law
Students Association has these following visions:
To focus a global vision on the promising future of Asia
To promote an awareness of justice; and
to facilitate the recognition of the social responsibilities on law

ALSA
Asian Law Students Association or ALSA is a non-political, non-profit association that welcomes
cultural diversity and advances the professionalism and hard-working ethics. ALSA has become, and
is continually improving, as a leading association that provides the venture for bright law students
to develop as future leaders and major players in Asia. ALSA has 16 member countries, 130 Local
Chapters, and over 20.000 members across Asia.
ALSA International Board
Comprised of President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Vice President of Academic Activities, Vice
President of Marketing and Public Relations, Vice President of Training, Exchange, and Development,
and 8 Directors representing each departments. The International Board shall be responsible to
realizing ALSAs visions and objectives.
ALSA Indonesia National Board
Comprised of President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Vice President of Academic Activities, Vice
President of Internal Affairs and Vice President External Affairs. They are the governing body of ALSA
Indonesia respective visions and objectives.
ALSA Indonesia Legal Training & Workshop Committee
Responsible in designing the whole concept of the event starting from the planning, the
