American Government as government from the people, by the people and to the people
has being the believe of many of the people who live in the united state of America
whether a citizen of non-citizen. Since the beginning of life, humans have had absolute
power over themselves and what they say, what they do, and areas that they inhabit. Over
time the concept of government was developed and refined and some of this absolute
power was given away to the government, which in turn gave it back to the people with
certain limitations. This limitation that the government puts on people and set with value
which is then what make the law that is set to govern a community or a certain
United State of American is very distinguished from the rest of the world, and this
is mainly focus on the law of the land. The united constitution is said to be the oldest
constitution in the world. A Constitution of a country is a written laws and regulation that
is set to govern the land. The United State Constitution is an inextricable law of which no
one is able to escape from. Although, as powerful as this law is, many fail to obey it, and
those that tend to obey the law still often get caught up in the system. People In United
State of America face this judicial system differently and all this different experience will
Justice is blind in what the Lady of Justice stands for, but over the years many
judges have being some way partial in making there judgment. Since many of the
appointed judges make judgment based on what they believe to be constitutional, based
on their own interpretation of the constitution. It is very known that the fathers who sign
the constitution may have general believe on the constitution, but there is no thought that
they all interpret the constitution differently. If the founding fathers interpret this

differently, surely the judges who are point to interpret this supreme law of United State
will also interpret the law very different. This interpretation brings us to the idea that
what the law is based on each individual. We might have a general believe to what the
law is but every one will interpret the law based on what they want to believe and will
ignore every single thing that they really don’t want to hear.
The founding father doesn’t want the state and the federal government to make
law that isn’t constitutional, so they create a judicial review, which gave the Supreme
Court power to invalidate any state or federal law it considers inconsistent with the
Constitution. The fourteenth amendment, when it says “All persons born or naturalized in
the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States
and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall
abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State
deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to
any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” tries to provide
protection to the citizen of America but decline the same right from those that live in
American.
Millie Simpson as many other American, expressed the law of the United
State Based on her experience with the law. Her experience of the law tend to shape her
future experience even though there is no enough evidence to support this, but the little
we know about her case could help make a reliable conclusion. Millie went into the court
with the general idea that says “speak the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” She went
into the courtroom with no knowledge of how the court system works. She pleaded guilty

to not having car insurance, without knowing that she has pleaded guilty to the other
charges of running away from an accident scene. Again like every other people with little
or know knowledge of the court will do, she accepts all the fine and sentencing giving to
her. She did her community service even though she know that she is innocent, pays all
the fine s just because she felt guilty for not having insurance. Millie Simpson didn’t have
any grudge against the judicial system. She thought “the judge had been persuaded by her
story when he seemed to record her explanation” Millie Simpson assumed that her story
have convinced the judge and what ever judgment the judge carries is fear to her. She
chooses not to speak during the hearing, thinking that her appearance alone with the
reading of her last court statement is sufficient enough to provoke the judge to favor her.
Millie touch base on the idea of Selective Reading, she said “some of them probably
don’t even read the paper, they just read what they need to read to find our why you are
there.” (pg 9) Judges are there to look into a whole situation, weighing both site and
knowing deep about a certain case. But instead they ignore some of the relevant issue of a
case or even show up to the bench without any prior idea of what kind of chase they were
earring. Judges should get to know about they cases in a way that they won’t be bias
The Supreme Court want to create a court that people will care about. Individual
interpret the law differently, which then mean that everyone the law as he or she
understand it. People view (interpretation) on what value of constituency and impartial
mean are based on individual experience. When a case is taken to court, the view of the
person who wins the case is different from the person who losses. The looser tend to view
what ever the court decision is as unjust while the winner will talk favorably about the

deserve it. While an innocent person sent to prison for killing will view the law as

regardless of social status, or ethnicity. It turns out that fairness are determine each
individually, what is fair for each person is different in perception of fairness of the other.
Social status affect one case at time, the different between being able to avoid to pay for a
diligent attorney and the state appoint a public law to defend a case always affect the out
come of it. Millie Simpson did not see the judicial system working for her benefit until
she get her own lawyer who did all required fighting for her case. Millie last the fist trial,
only because the attorney did not try his or her best to help Millie in the situation of

making decision on a particular case. This values of constituency is sometime over look
by player of the judicial system. A perfect example is when a police official changes the

Very often people caught into the judicial system just as Millie Simpson, and lack
of knowledge of what the court room process is make they get convicted for crimes they
do not commit. On the other side, there are people who known the law make use of the
law when they wish to and also define the judicial system to what they want to believe in.
Dwayne Franklin is set as an example in the book. Dwayne sees the law as tools that are
there to protect each individual. He uses the judicial system to protect himself, his family

and his neighborhood. Dwayne explains that he is more “willing than others to go
through the legal channel.”(pg 70) Whenever Dwayne believes someone is in the wrong,
he will take him or her to court. Dwayne know his way around the law, he state that often
he might chose not to take some one to court, giving the reason that “chances are for one
case you might have to go back to or three times. It’s a waste of time; time is money.” He
added that he “chose not to take the people to court because they get to put on probation.”
Dwayne know how much time and money it cost to got to court, so he tend not to get
involve with the court room too much, but will call the law enforcement department if he
notice any thing wrong in his community. Dwayne Franklin’s sees the judicial system as
the way things is done. He agree that court are very expensive, but since the judicial
system is the way to get things done one need to used them whenever it necessary.
Ultimately, People tend to stay far away from the judicial system, no one like
dealing with the law. Many people do thing with the hope of not getting caught. A good
example is majority of Winona State University student that are under the age of twenty-
one tend to drink ever weekend. When any of their friends is drunk to the extent of
calling the cops for help, experience keeps many from calling. They are often afraid of
getting evicted for drinking under age. Many of the sorts of situation are out there in the
society were by people choice not to report any thing to law enforcement because they
don’t want to get tie into it. Media are known to be the most influential system in United
State of America. Many will argues that the media shape the life of people in the society.
This argument to some extents it true, but they forget the fact that if a channels is
showing things about the society that a particular person doesn’t like they often change
