How to make Manabs sweets

Manab is a city with kind and talkative people, located in the coast of
Ecuador. Many people know that the best food of Ecuador can be found in
the Coast especially, in Manab. In order to show that tonight I will explain
you how to make two kinds of Manabs sweets. They are well known as
Rompope and Troliches. If you have traveled to Manab you probably have
tasted them. Maybe you do not recognize them by the name, so you can see
how they are.
To make Rompope you need:
1 liter of milk
3/4 pounds of sugar
Cinnamon, cloves, sweet pepper and vanilla essence, as much as you want
8 eggs
First you have to get a medium pot and place it on the stove. Make sure to
keep the flame low.
Second you have to spill the milk in the pot and add the cinnamon, the
cloves and the sweet pepper.
Third you have to mix all the ingredients. Make circular movements with a
spoon for 30 minutes, so the ingredients will not burn.
Fourth take the pot and wait until it gets cold (to a room temperature). While
you are waiting for that, you can take away the egg yolks from the eggs.
Fifth you have to mix the egg yolks very well.
Sixth, when the mixture is in the room temperature, return it to the burner
and keep the flame low too.
Seventh, spill the egg yolk mixed little by little and then add the vanilla
essence.
Eighth, make circular movements until the mixture has a medium
consistency.
Finally, when the mixture has a medium consistency you will have the
Rompope, so just wait until it gets cold and spill it into a glass bottle.
To make Troliches you will need:
1 liter of milk
3/4 pounds of sugar
Cinnamon, cloves, sweet pepper and vanilla essence, as much as you want

First, you have to get a medium pot and place it on the stove. Same as the
Rompope, you must keep the flame low.
Then, you just have to keep doing circular movements with a ladle so that
the mixture can be at the same temperature, and it wont burn. You must
keep doing that until it gets a high consistence. Its about an hour
After that, you have to make little balls before the mixture get cold because
it will become solid, so you must be as fast as you can. You can use a small
spoon in order to form the little balls.
Finally, you can use some crepe paper to wrap the little balls called
Troliches.
You can decorate them how you want.
These sweets are made especially in Rocafuerte Manab and there is not a
big factory, they are handmade.
I decided to show you how to make these recipes because this is part of our
culture and I think it is very important to know how we are and what we
have in our country before traveling abroad.
