1. Approved scaffolding shall be used.


2. Temporary scaffold platforms shall be in good condition and a competent

3. Tool box shall be delivered to the operatives before starting up of the Task

5. Scaff tag to be in place to state safe for use

arrest systems (such as chain block) shall be used.

Comply with ADM EHSMS CoP 23.0 Work at Heights and 26.0 Scaffolding)

Work in charge need to conduct Start Card Briefing prior to start work.
Select the physically competent workers for shifting , lifting
installing of hangers & supports

hand.

eyewear and gloves to be worn by all operatives

purpose, they fit for the environment in which they are to be used and they are in
good condition.
* Visual checks must be completed by operatives on tools prior to their use.
*Tools are required to be suitable for the purpose for which they will be used.
* Eye protection is to be provided and used whenever work is done using cold
chisels, drills, grinders or other tools where there is risk of flying particles or other
or pieces of the tool breaking off.
* Open-bladed knives, screwdrivers, and other sharp tools are to be carried and
used so as not to cause injury to the user or others.

* Non-ferrous (spark free) tools are to be used in flammable atmospheres.
* Insulated tools must be used where there is a possibility of live electrical work
* All tolls should be kept clear of unnecessary grease, moisture or dirt.
* Any moveable / adjustable parts should be lightly oiled to protect against
corrosion and to prevent wear and misalignment.
Only 110 volt electrical hand power tools will be used
* Sharpening activities must only be carried out by professionals as it is a relatively
skilled job.
* Tools should not be left lying around, they constitute a severe tripping hazard and
they are liable to get damaged.
* Supervisor to monitor hand tools which can deteriorate with time to ensure they
are sharpened or replaced as necessary, and to ensure that the tools are being
used correctly.
* Specific checks should be made as followed:
o Hammer and file handles for deterioration
Open-ended spanners for splayed jaws
