The Stan Wong Foundation is holding its 8th annual Stan Wong 5K for Cancer event on May 21, 2016
at the Newport Beach Marina in East Moriches, NY. Over the past 9 years, this event has enabled our
foundation to donated over $74,000 toward cancer research, support services and most recently direct
assistance to local cancer patients in need.
We hope that you might be able to help us have another wonderful event this year. We are looking for
companies that are willing to help us underwrite the cost of the event and begin our fund raising efforts.
On the attached sheet you will find various opportunities for your company to support the fight against
cancer, as well as take advantage of the events advertising opportunities with its 350+ participants.
Cancer attacks the lives of so many, physically, emotionally and financially. In the U.S. alone, half a
million people die each year from cancer. Yet, there are more and more survivors each year. Over the
past two decades research funds have helped to improve detection methods and have transformed
cancer treatment to be more personalized, targeted and effective. This progress would not have been
possible without the support of businesses and individuals like you. Therefore, we ask you to please
strongly consider contributing to the 2016 Stan Wong 5K for Cancer.
This year, 40% of proceeds will help fund American Cancer Society Research Grants. 30% will help the
Hope Lodge provide free housing and support services to cancer patients receiving medical treatment in
New York City. Another 20% will provide direct financial assistance to local Long Island cancer patients
during their treatment. The final 10% will help fund research grants through Uniting Against Lung
Cancer.
