Class organization: Ss will work individually and in groups.Taking into
consideration the degree of disability of each student, the class will be devided
into three groups, GROUP 1-3 students, moderate level, GROUP 2- 1 student,
mild disability level, GROUP 3 - 6 students, profound disability level
Description of the class:
This class consists of 10 special educational needs boy students, aged 16,17.
They can be characterised as it follows: they all present developmental disabilities, which
are usually classified as profound, moderate , mild (deficien mintal, grad de handicap
accentuat, mediu sau usor), learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia
associated with communication difficulties, lack of self-esteem and self-advocacy skills
Teaching methods: explanation, conversation, gap filling exercises
Recent work: students have been studying the ways to express time, but as their memory
functions on very short basis, it is necessary reinforce the new language.
Possible problems:
Due to the fact that most of these students suffer from emotional disorders, it may be
possible that they feel overwhelmed by the situation.In this case I will constantly offer
support and encouragemnt,and if necessary change the plans, and skip to another activity,
which will be suitable at that time.

and asks:How many big numbers are on the clock?
SS say that there are 12 numbers on the clock
T tells them that when the big hour hand moves from one number to the next, one hour has passed.
T tells SS that when the small minute hand moves from one tick mark to the next, one minute has passed.
T shows SS time flashcards and asks them to say what time is it

Objective 4: to practice telling time, hour identification


ACTIVITY 1.
T asks how many minutes are there in an hour
SS answer that there are 60 minutes in an hour
T asks SS how many hours are there in a day
SS say there are 24 hours in a day
T displays telling time worksheet and asks SS to tell the time
SS come to the blackboard and match the time to each clock face
ACTIVITY 2 (time permitting)

T gives SS clock templates and each SS will have to create his own clock

SS color the clock faces, stick them on a plastic plate, and put the hands of the clock to make it work as a tool for a game
