TERMS OF REFERENCE (AMR NASIHA BINTI ABD MALIK)

On the 3rd of August 2015, Madam Nor Salwa, the lecturer for AE501 Communicative
English 3, instructed my group to prepare a report giving details of the comfortable living in
hostel and rent house among PTSB students.
The purpose of this report is to identify the comfortable living in hostel and rent house among
PTSB students. Four departments are involved in this report ; Civil Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Commerce Departments taking into consideration
among PTSB students.
I hereby submit the report on the above matter with recommendations by 12/9/2015.

BACKGROUND / PROBLEM (AMR NASIHA BINTI ABD MALIK)

There are several problems about living in hostel and also rent house. Some students likes to
stay at hostel and some students also likes to stay at rent house. The problem staying at rent
house is student have to spend their money for petrol, for cooking and others. Other than that,
the problem staying at hostel is there are many activity that they do at hostel such as kamsis
weekend until midnight and they did not have enough time to study and do homework.
Furthermore, the student who like staying at hostel because they can do group study with their
friends. Other than that, staying at hostel can save more time and energy and student can
attend to the class early. Lastly, the student who like staying at rent house because they can go
home easily without giving the card to the security guard.

DISSCUSSION (AMR NASIHA BINTI ABD MALIK)

The result of the survey that we had made show that the PTSB student mostly like staying at
hostel. This means the student would prefer staying at hostel than staying at rent house. This
is because staying at hostel can save more time and energy and student can attend to the class
early because hostel is near from class than rent house
The student also can save more money rather than spending money for things that have no
benefit. Moreover, student can do group disscussion such as group study with their friends at
the hostel.
There are many student dislike staying at rent house. The reason is because when the student
staying at rent house, they will spend more money for petrol and for cooking. The student also
will use more energy to drive the car itself when they want to attend to the class and this will
use more time and will cause they come late to the class. Lastly, the student would prefer
staying at hostel than staying at rent house.

METHODOLOGY (AMR SYUHADA BINTI ABD MALIK )

This project is focus on comfortable living in hostel and rental house among PTSB student. In
this project we used method to do the survey among the student. The method of investigation
used are survey, observation and analysing the information that obtain from survey. This
method helps a lot to collect variety of data. The scope area for this project is only in the
Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah Polytechnic ( PTSB ).
For this project survey, we have prepare questionnaire for 60 respondents. The part of the
questionnaire is about their gender whether male or female. The other part is about all the
information for comfortable living in hostel and rental house. For example, the respondents
should choose whether living in hostel or rental house is more comfortable and the rating they
will give for satisfaction staying in hostel and rent house.
The last part is the respondents have to give their opinion or suggestion on the topic.Then, we
gathered all our information or data from the survey we had made. After that, we analyse it to
obtain the percentage PTSB student living in hostel and rent house.
