Discipline Engineering Manager
Reporting lines may change temporarily as a result of strategic decisions within the business.

Primary Tasks

Ensures that engineering is delivered responsibly, safely, cost effectively, on time and to the appropriate standard.
Keeps up-to-date with technical knowledge that maintains or enhances competency in the role.
Maintains good relationships with people in all facets of the business (internal and external).
Assists with growing engineering capability by supporting training and knowledge-sharing within the discipline team.
Assists with improvements that benefit the long term viability of engineering and the wider aspects of the business.
Demonstrates good oral and written communications skills.
Primary Tasks may change as a result of strategic decisions within the business. Changes to Primary Tasks will be recorded in the PDR process.

Role
Competencies

Chartered engineer (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 6 years engineering design experience.
Able to perform discipline checking and approval work, or understand when specialist referral is required.
Assists with the delivery of engineering projects.
Demonstrates sound technical ability and can influence others to behave in ways consistent with the interests of the organisation.
Identifies the primary task in situations and maintains a clear focus to achieve results.
Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Work behaviours are consistent with the Companys Visions and Values. The focus is on being helpful as well as technically correct.
Ability to delegate where required, and takes responsibility for delivering work, as well as providing support and guidance to others.

Creates realistic estimates and CTRs (Cost, Time, Resources)
Active member of the team (operations team, discipline team,
engineering team, and wider company). Works to achieve the best
results for the business.

Listens to and understands customers different requirements and

decisions. Takes ownership of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Helpful as well as technically correct.

Maintains close working relationships with internal and external
