3 The preparation before run script

3.1

BSC_Preprocessing is modification

(OK BY DEFAULT)

Before setting measurement tasks, check whether the MR preprocessing by the BTS is
disabled. When the BTS preprocesses MRs, the MRs are reported at a longer interval,
affecting the MR accuracy. This has impacts on MR collection. Therefore, disable MR
preprocessing by the BTS, and restore the function after the MR data collection is complete.
To disable MR preprocessing by the BTS, run the SET GCELLHOCTRL command with
MR.Preprocessing set to BSC_Preprocessing. You can edit an MML command script to
batch modify the setting of MR.Preprocessing.

SET GCELLHOCTRL: IDTYPE=BYID, CELLID=XX,

Modifying Measurement Threshold for Neighboring Cell Level (OK BY

DEFAULT)
Change the neighboring cell interference level thresholds to 60, 64, 68, 72, 74, 76, and 80 by
performing the following operations on the Web LMT:
Log in to the Web LMT, and run the SET OTHSOFTPARA command.
Change neighboring cell interference level thresholds 1 to 7 to 60, 64, 68, 72, 74, 76, and 80,

respectively. You do not need to change neighboring cell interference level threshold 0.

8 Restoring Data After Data Collection

Restoring Configuration Parameters
1.

Stop the measurement task.

Remove the measurement task Neighbor Cell Level Measurement per
Cell on the M2000.

2.

Change the generation mode of BA 1 and BA 2 lists from Manual to

Auto.
Make an MML script to restore the generation mode of BA 1 and BA 2
lists to Auto, and run the script on the BSC6900.
Example command to restore the BA 1 list generation mode: SET
GCELL2GBA 1: IDTYPE=BYID, CELLID=1, CELL2GBA
1TAG=AUTO;
Example command to restore the BA 2 list generation mode: SET
GCELLHO2GBA 2: IDTYPE=BYID, CELLID=1, CELL2GBA
2TAG=AUTO;
If CELL2GBA 1TAG is set to AUTO in the original network, use the
MML command on the BA 2 List (Backup Before Modified) tab in the
BA 2 list modification tool to restore the configurations of BA 1 and BA
2 lists.

After collecting data, restore BA lists to the Auto mode promptly.

Otherwise, BA lists cannot be updated in a timely manner after new
frequency planning solutions are used. As a result, reselection,
handovers, and call drops occur.
In addition, before the new frequency planning solutions are used,
frequency replanning areas and cells in surrounding buffer zones need to
retain BA lists in Auto mode and disable the customized neighboring cell
measurement function. Otherwise, handovers and call drops may occur.
You can run the DSP NCS command to check whether the customized
neighboring cell measurement function is enabled for BSCs performing
frequency planning as well as associated BSCs. To disable this function,

Check After Data Collection

After the frequency replanning data is collected, check whether any data is missing before
transfer the collected data.
The following are the check items:

Check whether certain traffic measurement package is 0 KB or is

unexpectedly small in size.
