We must take every thought captive to obey Christ and reject worldly desires. We should serve others humbly rather than selfishly and do all things, including our work, wholeheartedly as for the Lord. Finally, we should focus our minds on whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, reputable, excellent or praiseworthy.

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing
raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. For they seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Yeshua. Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each one of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own interests, but also for the interests of others. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua… whatever you do, do your work heartily (from the soul), as for the Lord and not for men; for if we live we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are Yeshua’s. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything to praise, let your mind dwell on these things. 2Corinthians 10:5-6; *1John 2:16; Philippians 2:21, 3-4; Colossians 3:17, 23; Romans 14:8; Philippians 4:8 *With the exception of this verse (KJV), all scripture is taken from the New American Standard Bible
