Introduction
Nowadays, there is a clear bridge between developed and undeveloped countries around
the world. For instance, the education leads and the positive well prepared of educators will be
the significant face of Ecuadorean students who develop daily tasks and techniques proposed by

right mediators. Mediators who actually are enhancing their methodologies, strategies and
techniques, so as to create the space to construct knowledge, it means that students in class will
be able to do cognitive work applying the four skills Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing
according to the stage of proficiencies.
Therefore, the Ecuadorean Government is undertaken the project Go Teacher in which
Ecuadorean English educators are taking classes in the classrooms of a University in The United
State of America. As a result of this project I decided to sign up, do the formalities and pass the
English test in order to be scholar. Consequently, I passed all of them and the Minister of
Education approved me all the requirements.
This book is based on many of my experiences gotten during my transition of seven
months at New Mexico State University, excursions and trips with my Go Teachers fellows. In
addition, there are some important sentences from different text books analyzed in classes and
tasks of Linguistics class as well. Furthermore, there are summaries and important journals
which have been worked taking the correct use of the authors right following APA format.
Finally there are around of seventy five pages of daily experiences in classes, presentation,
observations, hanging out, places, feelings, behaviors and do forth.
On the whole, this transition has been my opportunity to write this book reminding every
single day in this scholarship. I hope this should be useful one day in the future to someone else.
I did my best effort applying rules, vocabulary, conjunctions, transitions words, etc. I believe
totally in the Ecuadorean talents focused in education and one day our country can vie
academically and make investigations as well as any developed country around the world.

A dream came true

Events and behavior

At the moment when I got the plane in my country Ecuador exactly on May 18th at 11:35
pm I felt and thought many things, but I just prepared my hang luggage and I saw the people
who were in front of me and I felt so proud myself for this new opportunity. I held my colorful
jacket and found my seat. However my trip started with news when I realized that someone or an
old man had already sat on my seat, and it just was placed in the window, so I had to ask him for
my seat before the plane took off, but the person who was on my set as a deaf mute and I
remember my internal expression Oh my God, so I decided to grant my seat without concern. I
took a seat next to him and I observed everything around me. Of course I landed on my first
scale. It was in Miami Airport, where I could observe the people got out from plane and went
very fast to the security border controls to check passports, tickets and right documents. I realize
that the security inside was extremely deep, everything were checked. After checking documents,
tickets and passport I went ahead to my right gate and I did it getting information from TV
timetable which they are everywhere but unconsciously I took a little nap and the noise of the
loud speakers calling the passenger to next flight to Dallas Forth Worth had to go on board, it
was meant that I almost lost the flight.
I continued with my second landing in Dallas Forth Airport, in that place primarily I
realized people have good manners and they attended to help me every time for example
someone helped me when I tried to make a call to my family and I did not know how to use the
public phone when suddenly, someone close to me and she taught me explain how a public
machine work with coins and credit card. Then in Dallas Forth Worth I chose the incorrect route
of the train to get my right gate and I had to spend many time to get my following gate and I
bought a hamburger, French fries and a can of soda because I was hungry. Later I got my next
right gate to get my last scale which was to El Paso International Airport where my luggage was
delayed and it would come the next day, so I had to keep and wear the same clothes for 2 days up
to my luggage would arrive to NMSU-Aggies Express.
So before the next stop I felt that my last destination had already coming soon. Suddenly
I could see into the airport three Ecuadorians women looked for the person who would pick up in
the airport and it was so. The best moment arrived to my eyes, when I could see the banner
NMSU. After registration in Aggies Express I had the opportunity to know my home for 7
months. I knew my house with Cole Village house which I could see on Google Earth before.
Then the two first days continued with the orientation and knowing more friends including a
friend from Guayaquil Melina Lainez who worked in the same private educational institution
with me. Finally my first day of class was started in DACC with a great class of welcome.
Feelings
This trip will be exciting for learning new experiences because it is going to represent
a challenge for my professional career.

It will be emotional to get a new opportunity to change and improve the English
learning methodology in my country when I will arrive after 7 months and get new
friends.
Also I feel so sad because I decided that no one member of my family went to say
good bye.
Thoughts
I should be emphasized that a farewell for me could be so hard and when I stood in the
different airports every time I thought that my family was so far away from me, but the
technology is going to help to be keeping in touch with them every day. When I was a child I
always thought that I would have a great opportunity and my dreams would come true, I replied
twice those thoughts in every airport. My way to think in positive from was increasing according
the scales; it would be the friendly people, technology around me, people who spoke two and
three languages everywhere. I believe in this new experience step by step the time was closing at
my destination NMSU.
Learnings
I assumed that the food would be equal to New York City or Miami because I traveled
there many time.
I potential bias I had lived in a small flat totally alone and any place to enjoy myself.
All of my assumptions which I referred were cleared during my life because I had the
opportunity to travel abroad one or two times to USA every year, but I have never known a place
like this Las cruces with spicy food are in all of the dishes. In addition to the friendly students
and kind people everywhere. Therefore many places to enjoy and relax as for example the
climbing wall, a huge pool, and the gym and Zumba classes.
In summary all of them influenced a lot because I felt better watching that I had a great
environment around me, a great and professional group encharged of my decisions, studies and
needs.
Application
This way to grow professionally has increased my way to think and I realized that the
purpose to be here is not only get new experiences or friends, so the proposal of this Go Teacher
program is represent very well to my country giving all of my effort and strengths for getting
better my expectation, perspectives and knowledge as a professional first, them a common
person. Every research, writing and assignments which have been developing during this day
will increase the knowledge which I am going to apply with my students every time, including
the strategies to work in pairs, groups and hw to socialize step by step an issue or interesting
topic in my future English teaching learning development.

Murry, 2011, p. 67). This comment is relevant, because the first language acquisition is the
mother tongue, hence from our birth. These mean when the children are growing, they are
learning because the environment and customs. For instance, the culture that they get is part of
them. But in the second language acquisition they need to be and share in that environment.
Furthermore as second language acquisition has to be a productive process during their
experiences, no matter whether the learners do not develop an EFL or ESL area, but rather as
teachers and mediators gauge their skills with constantly motivation and facilities so as to get the
ace in their grades and behaviors.

appropriate for them in reading activities. For instance, students undoubtedly will strive in the
enough lexicon and right outcomes. In sum up, they will involve in the literature as well as they

Reflective teachers know that effective practice for CLD students requires an

in classroom, because students receive an amount of information everyday and sometimes they
can be stressful of easygoing, but I have to be motivated firstly before be in front of them to
transmit my motivation to everyone. Thanks of God I am always a positive educator who believe
in students talents, because the skills they will be getting during the process of learning. No
matter how much challenge it will be. In a nutshell, they can get the knowledge with right
mainstream from me so as engage them and push them to the success.

Your aim is to keep an open mind about the participants in you classroom-to
take what you can learn from reflecting on the biographies of yours students and prepare
to ignite and make public what CLD students know (Herrera & Hamann, 2010, p. 76).
This comment is significant for me, because it is aimed directly to educators. To begin with the
prior knowledge of learners because educators have to know very well the students strengthens
and weaknesses in order to prepare a right lesson plan and comprehensible activities in the
activation of the knowledge to everyone. At the same time to know about how much students
know of a specific topic, so as apply the connection correctly. Consequently the affirmation will
be the target gotten. In my case as a well professional I always take in advance the first days of
the classes becoming significant for me because it is the time to know about experiences Also,
gathering useful information I will struggles and strive myself to help students to flourish.

However students during these processes will have to be the protagonist of the class evolving a
correct observation. For instance, I will assure in fulfilling of the development thinking.

or physical activities for a well development if the learners. As a matter of fact, I know now very
well how much significant and remarkable is to prepare the teaching learning area and it takes
time, and I will lead this in my future classroom step by step, also I will transfer to more
colleagues to be ready at the beginning, during the process and at the end of the scholar year. For
sure, I will invest my time and why not my money to do something excited for my students.

prepare to my students for the real life knowing very well how they learn and how they can

means that educator must focus in strategies where the techniques can challenge to the learners.
One good example is the Dot Chart where the students have the fill the different gates already
proposed by the instructor. As well as they use their own background and the information that the
cooperative learning gotten. Also the educator with an specific rubric can gauge the learners and

distinguish their different phases of learning such as the knowledge of the content, how they link
the prior knowledge with the new input, how they express throughout class and finally confirm
the meta-cognitive knowledge already acquired at the end of the class, topic or unit. Moreover, I
as Go teacher educator will be well prepared in this process, because I can recognize the process
of how the brain works (Observation, Comparison, Relation, Classification, Ordering, Analysis,
Synthesis and finally the Evaluation) and using those I have to go forward.

students have their native language and the second language is in process. Inasmuch the leaner is

the learners can share in groups and individually in order to find important concepts or switch the
answers among peers. Finally in the process of language acquisition we have to know that
sometimes the use of the L1 is acceptable when something is not very clear and for instance I
will let my learners can use it, but taking in consideration just the unknown ledge words.

stages Affirmation, Connection and Affirmation. In my case, it very useful and I will work every
unit with this strategy because it is very productive. Furthermore, this is a material where they
can carry everywhere and it is not heavy for leaner and it easy to you.
As teachers of students with various levels of language proficiency, we often as
ourselves How can make this lesson relevant for all my students? (Herrera, kavimandan
& Homes, 2011, p. 98). This sentence makes reference to an important fact, because we have to
understand how a good significant class and teacher have been. Based on IDEA strategy students
are going to develop their performances in different aspects. The first one when the students
knowledge encompasses all the positive rank of goal to get. The second one is how the learners
make a rightconnection letting the teacher gauge and observing and the last one is making
students investigators in order to analysis the content and how can be useful for them
everywhere. Moreover as a professional we have to know that the opportunities to learn are for
everybody providing just the materials and a well comprehensible input because students learn.

relevant because we as human being are capable to create and get better something which is

already created by someone else. In the educational area where educators struggle every day in
graphics in order to sensitize a schema or make the class more productive for the learners. No
matter which subject is, but the implementation of their ideas to use something explicit to a
concrete and clear design useful for learners with the support obviously of the educator as a
wisdom mediator enabling to everyone opportunities to change , add and fill. For instance, I will
work with my CLD students based on this point because it is clear that the ages are not the same
and the education revolution is going forward. Strategies are just the ideas where a technique will
be developed with the willingness of the students to create and change. This is the way which I
will work because I can take strategies and techniques from this program at NMSU and they will
be adapted to students Ecuadorean cognitive to get the metacognitive in the daily overcomes.
The CALLA method focuses on explicitly teaching CLD students to understand
and tactically apply metacognitive, cognitive, and social/affective strategies (Chamot &
OMalley, 1994, p. 330). This comment is significant because we have to be aware when we
want to work with CALLA method because it s focused and CALP, it means complex and
academic language and high utterance. Nevertheless this method is very similar to the
communicative methods it sinks in helping learners using their prior knowledge content and its
knowledge as a key to get the new knowledge. Meanwhile based of the learning process those
strategies involve the mental or physical manipulation of the information. Based in this method I
can apply strategies such as KNW, cooperative learning or making inferences in order to follow
some steps like preparation, expansion, presentation, self evaluation and practice in the
classroom to gauge the knowledge in their process.
A teacher should choose strategies that help students develop the communication
and thinking skills necessary to successfully comprehend a situation and complete a task
independently (Chamot & OMalley, 1994, p. 347). This comment is essential because we as
good educators for CLD students have to know their strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, a
right strategy takes awareness in how much the learners can develop in they can be gauge
steadily. At the end the overcome might be the followings: they know how to study successfully,
they are ready to know science or any subject using their own strategies and they will be ready to
speak English n the society. In my case I will apply the theories and paradigms in my curriculum
well specified as in the syllabus settled in order to develop the tasks and classroom techniques
correctly.

We transform our classrooms into true communities of care and learning
(Herrera & Hamann, 2010, p. 139). This comment is relevant because as educators most of the
time we spend our time in the classroom with our students, but it does not mean that the

teacher in this life because while this concept I will teach to my students how to be grateful,
humble and honest as well. Thus one of my future projects is working based on values, for
example if the class is based on reforestation I would work strategies such as T-chart in order to
write the problems and effects and finally with the presentation of them giving to the whole class
preventions and how to be aware about this issue.
Questioning is underutilized as a tool for assessment in todays classrooms
(Herrera & Hamann, 2010, p. 131). This comment is significant because actually teachers or
instructors are not well prepared and they develop desultory techniques as making questions
about something that students do not know in that moment and sometimes it is worst because

Another one is conversion where Ells can work freely using their dictionaries and look for the
variations in the part of the speech of the words such as water (n) with water (v) or book (n) and
book (v) and make sentences in groups in order to go to the board and present them or in a game
where they can vie with different Conversion and get points. Finally, I believe that there not
barriers for learning. The educators just have to use their talent as a right educator and develop
them correctly.

Ecuador and Colombia have guided initiatives to recommend and improve the living
conditions of economically problems families in a implicit way working in some issues as family
economical situation, wellbeing of the family, education, health care and food. Taking in
consideration that family is a set of characters in which surround values as reciprocity and
solidarity according to the article (The Case of Colombia and Ecuador) published in 2012, and
solidarity. In additional to the similarities among Ecuador and Colombia based on how there
were colonized and what religion they established centuries ago. Currently the poverty in those
countries has increased in a considerable percentage, as a result of those agencies is observing
and prepares social policies to analyses any vulnerable children and their families. However
Ecuador and Colombia have a similar kinship system based on matrilineal and relationships, but
now women rights and the level of education have been increasing.
Moreover both countries seem to follow a comparable path of family size, relation among
family member and socio-demographic characteristics where Ecuador and Colombia have high
levels of poverty. Various programs which they want to work with the illiteracy in adults and
increasing the high education in the population in poverty. Therefore we have to observe the
majority group of families which they widespread in nuclear and extended families, they mean
that nuclear are two parents in home, but extended is when many members of the family
integrated it. There are two strategies to improve and solve needs based on health care, nutrition,
and school attendance too. One of them is establish a economic equilibrium and the another is
the investment in education and communication. INFA and ICBF are institutions which are
working in programs directed in specific objectives focus in providing food, care, protection and
preschool education without forgetting that parents have to be involved in all of these programs.
For me, the initiatives that governments have taken will be important to everybody,
because it will reduce poverty in children less seven years, enhancing physics, health and their
educational systems taking in consideration the illiteracy group of adults and different types of
subsidies for the people in need. Institutions like ICBF in Colombia and INFA in Ecuador believe
in challenges where limitations in the development of policy initiatives, legal issues, and
demographic changes will affect in good way with the right implementation and assets of the
programs.
I assumed that all of those programs to eradicate the poverty and give policy family
initiatives were created for every citizen who live in these countries do not matter what kind of
nationality they have or got.
A potential bias I had when the article took place in how children enhance without the
support of parents, but it did reference in how mothers play an important role in the monitoring
and guaranteeing childrens school attendance.
All of my assumptions that I thought were clearer. Thus Families in Action in
Colombia and Child Development Program have as main objective supplement the income of

responsibilities like attending regular appointments with professional, monitoring their childrens

as Ecuadorian citizen, because according to the article INFA plays an incredible role to improve
the deficit problem of heath, hungry and homeless children in my country, and I agree with all of
the good ideas to develop needs of children in the community, for example with the supporting
of parents and taking in consideration the themes of the Declaration of the Millennium which
says that the eradication of poverty is one of the goals to achieve in few years through various
strategies and actions plans.
Well, despite all of the information have already given it should be emphasize that now I
am preparing as a good professional and one day I am going to persuade to belong into the
government to give more ideas to improve the illiteracy and support it as a policy voice. Every
day I am growing in this scholarship and one of my goals is when I have the opportunity to be in
front of my group of students try to give all of mine. Help them and be connected with their
parents all the time inviting to be part of all the activities and why not I can help when they are in
economical problems. I can organize meetings and academics fairs to solve opportunities and
proposed solutions with institution like INFA to eradicate it and support children problems,
because they will be the future of my country one day.
In sum, one day I would like to prepare and built with the support of the government
some institutions where I can manage and give professional attention. Also with a psychologist
and parents department to plan every week academic resources and receive foreign students for
helping and native teacher to hold funny and pedagogic Spanish classes. All of them for free and
with the support of the government and parents.

Introduction
Currently in the classrooms there is a widespread diversity of students who must to be
addressed correctly. Every student is a challenge, because the diversity that they present in their
biographies are the hearts in which they are every second in the life. Culturally and
Linguistically Diverse opens the door to the Multicultural Education in our country, given the
opportunity to invest in the time and right knowledge to give a correct instruction to the learners,
giving the chance to think, create, imagine and develop the meta-cognitive knowledge through
the experiences with the environment, following the tasks that the mediator request correctly. In
this way, learners are able to practice their skills and abilities in the daily life.

However, every human being has his or her own biography with an entire of experiences
as me, because when I was young I attended in an elementary school named Academia Naval
Guayaquil and my high school Military School Teniente. Hugo Ortiz G. I consider that both were
so nice and unforgettable, because teachers and classmates made me feel comfortable and these
represented as my second home.
Another thing that I remember is when I was I was working at UTPL University, which
experience as a computer technician gave me the opportunity to know that I had to complete
every project in my life. On day I had the opportunity when the principal realized that the teacher
who taught Mathematical Logic was missing in that hour class, so I decide to replace him and I
asked to the principal for that and she asked me if I know how to develop a class but I said I
think so and a delighted smile was over my face, as a result of that I noticed myself that I loved
teaching because the students were satisfied with my performance, and all of them understood
the topic and they applied the tips that I gave them.
Furthermore, my academic future is very important, because have some project for
implementing a successful systems to learn actively. One of them is to create a well system to
teach English as a second language for carrying out in the public school in my country Ecuador,
and build a private company where I can train teachers in order to encourage the English
language in teens.
Moreover, a great teaching experience in a public institution placed in a rural
neighborhood of my city called Los Vergeles where primarily the teaching was not the most
important think, unless the love which the people who are the authorities and academic
representatives gave them in difficult moments making a close bond between Love and
Necessity. Of course strange moment for me was happiness when in my classes some students
became asleep and hungry and simple answers were I did not have breakfast this morning or I

have a stomachache. In those moments I realized that they will be challenges that I had to
overcome.
However, every memorable memory is important as soon as I could socialize with many
children, because in m y educative social environment I could enjoy several good moments with
my teacher and hanging out with my friends. According my years have been going up with the
responsibilities and duties at home and at school making me feel responsible and humble.
On one hand, in some cases when I was studying in primary school I had to collect
money with the community, so parents, neighbors and friends, and as result of those activities
could buy a new computer for the laboratory or remodel the front of the school. I noticed how
the community collaborated and tried to help me in the extra activities, including when the
community donated clothes and food for Christmas season for poor and homeless children. In the
second hand, when I was twelve years old my teacher sent some assignments for everyone for
example one of them was when my teacher granted to select the subject to develop, and I chose
Science, so I checked the instructions and I realized that I had to create a little home orchard and
I had to harvest seeds of fruits and vegetables up to get the crop of them.
Another one was when I had the opportunity to be selected to prepare a Christmas dinner
for children with low economical status and my classmates. My teacher and some of people from
the community helped me bringing me groceries at home to bake a delicious turkey and hot
chocolate to serve when the Christmas Carols started. That event impacted to the teacher and it
was the moment to share in class asking one by one of my classmates. How did they feel in that
wonderful night? And up to now I can remember all of them in a positive way.
Although, when I was growing and maturing I have never been rated about my English
level, because according to the experiences the English it up, but I had to qualify myself placing
it in a speech emergency, because I can communicate for surviving and I have to moderate my
listening skill for understanding if someone speaks or asks me for something, but as teacher I
had to enhance my skills developing a good combination of words when I had and have to teach
and lead a group of learners who I am in charge. Taking in consideration that my native language
is Spanish, and I can speak very well with an excellent performance, it means that I qualify in a
rate of one-Advanced Fluency.
Every day I have to be a professional because I have to realize what kind of energy I need
to expose all my vocabulary in front of someone, because widespread worlds can provoke a
lexical and ludical attention, or a rotate comprehension of thinks which they can moving
upwards till the meta cognitive intelligence take a important role of the communication.
Actually I consider that to learn language is very important and necessary, because I am
the mentor of this foreign and well known language in my Ecuador for my children, and it can

presentations on a specific date of weekend, represent a lot for me and my classmates too,
because I can lead the vision of my students taking in consideration the heart activity of them.

Well, I think that I have never rated myself in that way, but some tests form my country
qualify my English language in two- Intermediate Fluency, because in my native environment I

charge. Before I stay here in New Mexico State University I worked in a private educational
institution where I was in charge of four English subjects, science, spelling, reading and grammar
which meant that I spent with my students forty two grateful and exhausted hours per week
giving English classes, but I enjoyed a lot because I always shared with them real situations with
an appropriate speech entire of honesty and respect between us. Furthermore to be outside, for
example in a Shopping Mall and meet with a student represents a challenge because outside as a
teacher I must to focus that I am a teacher and he, she or they are my students and we have to
respect among us.
Actually I consider that to learn language is very important and necessary, because I am
the mentor of this foreign and well known language in my Ecuador for my children, and it can
reproduce as a plague around the world, taking in consideration that teachers can provoke,
engage and stimulate in everyone. This plague of knowledge can create a good climate of
possibilities, therefore English language open the door to everywhere. In my opinion to know
English as a second language can develop an interesting high level of opportunities because
people can read many books, labels, receipted, manual, handbooks, instructions, signs lyrics,
sing songs, type and understanding reports, letters magazine, newspapers. Also they can keep in
touch with foreign news and discoveries about technologies, science and educations around the
world.
In sum, I have not any drawback to learning English because I love learning and sharing
English language up to now. I consider that I am a consumer of this important language and I

gather information everyday about that I want. In addition to mention the Latin countries which
invest a lot of money to eradicate the lack of English language individualizing teaching and
learning, because they can recognize who are learning and what is the system that teachers are
using to engaging learners, of course taking in considerations the people, children, teen and kids
curiosity, individualism and creativity. If I want to read, I just have to do it and always be careful
with manners and customs in a speech.

When I was a child I lived in a kind environment which it gave me many opportunities to
socialize with many children, it meant that my parents always were teaching me how much
honest and fulfiller I had to be, so when I was in the school with my educative social
environment I could enjoy several good moments as long as I was in contact with my teacher and
hanging out with my friends. Therefore while the time was going up the responsibilities and
duties at home were increasing because I had to swept the floor, tidy my room and made my bed
every day and of course the catholic values based on Christianity where we had to pray before
meals and thanks after it. Many of the responsibilities and values made me feel responsible and
humble. Whereas my classmates at school they had feelings and of course all of them influenced
utterly with the performance in school.
Moreover in some cases when I was studying in primary school I had to collect money
with the community, so parents, neighbors and friends, because the institution needed to hold a
science fair, or a traditional fair of food, and the result of those activities were to buy a new
computer for the laboratory or remodel the front of the school. It was to observe how the
community collaborated and tried to help me in the extra activities including when the
community donated clothes and food for Christmas season for poor and homeless children. The
values and my personality which I got at home helped me in the way that I related and kept in
touch with the community. It meant that the relationship between the community and me was
very clear, nice and humble.
Many of the widespread experiences which I had already mentioned were developed in
outstanding form with a strict oversight of the teachers. But primarily when I was twelve years
old my teacher sent some assignments for everyone for example one of them was when my
teacher granted to select the subject to develop, and I chose science, so I checked the instructions
and I realized that I had to create a little home orchard and I had to harvest seeds of fruits and
vegetables up to get the crop of them. During that project my teacher was visiting me two or
three times to observe, check and qualify my work and what I was learning in that project.
The second was when I had the opportunity to be selected to prepare a Christmas dinner
for children with low economical status and my classmates. My teacher and some of people from
the community helped me bringing me groceries at home to bake a delicious turkey and hot
chocolate to serve when the Christmas Carols started. I could say that coexistence was
stunning experience with my teacher and community, and also something that I remember was
the moment when my classmate arrived the next day to the school day with a Christmas candle
lighting in their hands for me as a present. That event impacted to the teacher and it was the
moment to share in class asking one by one of my classmates. How did they feel in that
wonderful night?
Finally, I remember when my teacher organized a soccer game for all of his students
including our parents in a specific date of weekend, but that activity represented a lot for me and
my classmates too, because it was equivalent a good grade for my report for the end of the

semester. Of course because of that everybody went on time and play all the morning. I assumed
that activity could be bored, because I always had played just with neighbor friends, but it was
different and I could enjoyed it, and by the way the next day of class I had a quiz based on that
experience in which I learned a lot and I could realize that those activities influenced strongly in
my performance and up to now I can remember all of them in a positive way.

The Future of Professional Learning

Actually in education the technology in devices has been becoming part of teachers
tools. According to Mary Burns (2012) the word Immersive Environment is very important
because first of all is the way to engage the technology or virtual classes with the students, they
have to feel that they will be sure working in a safe environment where get a mistake will not be
a problem. However the new trends of TVs have been changing every day and protocols to
connect different TV programs in HD like instructional, games and several playlist of
professional developments to view according our necessities. All of them encourage or motivate
the discussion in a social teaching classroom through digital experiences. Therefore in different
countries there are video conferences systems to teach, it means where the teacher, instructors,
master or professor cannot be to support the class face to face, but using this way it is possible,
just connecting by Skype of any appropriate HD software to be in real time and it is able to
support questions and concerns by students as their convenience. By the way the media play an
important role where platforms which are included in devices or are online, they are just an
informal way to learn, but sometimes it is depend by costs , because students and learners
required permissions to access to any information and online courses, or they have to pay
monthly to get information.
In my opinion every day the technology is changing our daily teaching routines and
increasing the levels of educations in school, colleges and institutions, and teachers have to be
always ahead over this changes because children, teens and onlookers want to learn as speed o
light and do not forget something as teachers that we have to keep in our minds Technology is
easy to use and necessary if we want.
According to this important information that I read in this academic journal, I have learnt
the importance of use the visual information through videos on line and be able to use video
conference being we the mediator within class and be able to help when learners want to request
questions and concerns. Also that me as a teacher I have to be update with the technology about
education because it is common in the environment and people enjoy learning in this ways
everyday and is the best form to engaging the attention.
Furthermore the education in my country Ecuador is update too, because we have
institutions and universities where the technology is not a myth, but rather a bender, because one
of them is UTPL, it is an University which it apply distance education and it uses satellites to
connect instructors with students from different countries in an auditorium with an specific
academic topic or issue.
I am thinking about this article a lot because I believe that is the moment to apply in my
field, because I as teacher I am preparing with methodologies and strategies to get skills, and I

Actually, adequate tools for children with disabilities are very useful in the teaching
learning. According to Chien-Hui Yang (2012) Inclusion for children with disabilities remains a
challenge in the classroom. Teachers and professional educators must to know necessary
strategies for working in the classroom knowing the importance of the inclusion among
classmates. But currently teachers feel inadequate for being able to develop with this topic.
However they have to enroll in this field because as educators the outcomes are going to
get ongoing. For instance working in peers is a strategy where children with disabilities go
gaining important skills. The peer mediator introduces activities, they provoke cues or signs be
sure that the activity is correct for this moment. These can be by simple expressions or using
pictures of actions, because the eye contact is the result of the grab attention in despite when in
some cases the professional is not present. In sum up, all of them had to be evaluated during their
process, taking in consideration that Make Interpretation, Prompt for Direct Communication

Nonetheless in my country Ecuador teachers is being prepared for these challenges two
years ago, because the current government is working very hard in education, no matter if
students are with any disability or no. Now parents are trusting when they register to a kid in a
private or public institution.
I consider that this topic is one of the most important, and not just to know grammar
structures and more, because as teacher will use this tips into the class making groups and peers
to support the activities, forming groups of students including to everyone within the activities

Actually Online Games opens a widespread interest about teaching - learning. According
to McFarlane (2002) There is great interest in the potential that computer games have in
educational settings. Teachers and professional educators must to know necessary ludical
strategies for working in the classroom knowing the importance of technologies about online
games. There are a lot of benefits to train for finding what the role is when children in this issue
can share experiences and knowledge in the same classroom. But some teachers feel old fashion
to develop with this kind of modern education. For instance learning in formal education
represent a challenge, because nowadays kids, children and adults enjoy learning by playing on
internet, but the problem is What kind of games are necessary for these learners?, because
currently there a several websites where users can play or manage a game in free way, taking in
consideration the risks that they can provoke over our minds, so most of the times there is a
mismatch between the skills and knowledge.
In my opinion every educator has to be prepared and ready for these challenges, because
in our society these kind of students are always waiting for more changes and challenges,
because the teacher always have to be involved on topics an issue related video games, the hits
on music, technologies, etc.
According to this interesting information, I have learnt the importance to be prepared
every day, and be able to decide which game with a useful strategy can be used in the class,
thinking always in the right performance that my students or learners develop. Moreover, in my

engaging students or at the end for relaxing the last minutes of the hour class.
Finally, the application on my field depend about my ability, because before to arrive at
NMSU, I was working in a private institution where the resources are very high in infrastructure
and high technology, They mean that in every room there is a Smart Board with high fidelity
sound and a personal computer, but as we know students every day get bored if the mediator or
instructor cannot be the class excited. In addition to, I can make groups of students splitting

These theories are based on how the language works n the brain to produce a speech
outcome. However they work in different ways, whereby every theory expounds their principles.
CUP (holistic) is based on how much skills children get first, because their meta-linguistic
knowledge. Also they can work upon another language. That means that this theory provides the
base of the development of L1 and L2 as well. For instance, it will be easy to learn another
different language. While SUP is focused in the compartments in which the brain places the two
separate languages, hence bilingual people can process for separated them. But sometimes this is
constrained storage in the income, because instructions in L1 results in lower level. As a matter
of fact L2 proficiency avoids L1 input learning affects to L2. Most significant is how the
instructor develops these theories in the field.
What are these theories important for us as language teachers?
For sure, CUP (Common Underlying Proficiency), because the first language acquisition
is very relevant in the moment to receive a new in input during the process of milestones. It
should be emphasized that it is the base of L1 and L2, notwithstanding words are meaningful fir
the children and they need the roots so as take place the new insight.
How can you implement the tenets of CUP within your future classroom?
Well, I thing that they will be easy and profitable for the students knowledge. As might
be assure, I will use and develop the L1 knowledge in class, to reinforce and strength the
background in the L2 using specific activities as for example: whether the Science class is about
Food Chain and the new insight is quite complicated for the learners, I can use pictures to
make commonalities in the cycle and every student take the position of an animal, insect or plant
as well, so as develop a sketch, mentioning indirectly the names of the animals and the stages of
the cycle in L1 in order to depict the functions of every picture. The target in this theory can be
avoid barriers for students as ashamed feelings and scared to do something wrong in the process.
When you implement CUP within your classroom, you maybe face issues in terms of other
teachers, coordinator and /or administrators telling you that you should not allow any
other language in the classroom. How can you advocate for the use of other language
(native languages) in the classroom?
It is a good question, and it was my real situation as well, but the difference is that in the
public school we can proceed easier than a private institution. In addition, they will know about
our training. That is a fact.
Another face is in public, which I can tell very well about it. I was working as English
teacher, and I was beneath my coordinator who believed entirely in not any word in Spanish, but
in despite of I continued doing the same for years, which means CUP. Furthermore when I will
return to my last job again, because I will work in private and public. I will teach and make
understand advocating that I as a mediator of the knowledge I can gauge, develop and transfer

the input, comprehension and insight acquired in L1 to L2 as well. Also I can motivate them
using stimulus to link hypothesis and conceptions in L2. I will prepare a demonstration class, so

August 29, 2013

Every day I learn many things, but today I learned how to relate with American freshmen
at NMSU. Today I woke up early, so I got a lot of energy, because God let me be alive one day
more. First at all, I connected with my wife, so as I wanted to say good morning as every day.
Also I wanted to ask about my son, because two days ago he started feeling bad, he got fever,
stomachache and sickness. Despite situation my wife and I feel ensure that everything will be
right.
Then, after twenty minutes of I had connected, I dressed, took a shower, brushed my teeth
and put away my books and materials in my bag pack for this day, I had to disconnect until later.
So, my daily routine started. As every day I beg to my Lord for a good and healthy day. Then, as
always I walked to Taos restaurants in order to have breakfast. However my fall schedule is
easygoing, because I just have two classes of three hours per day. I try to take in advantage my
time having breakfast and then I went to the Zhul library, so as read the next pages of my book
Yes you Can by Jonathan Black. I spent around two hours and a half reading and taking out
new words. Then the time to go to class was coming, I put away my things and I stretch before
going. I arrived to my first hour class with Dr. Chantel, who is my listening, and note taking and
speaking professor. We practiced a lot the speaking skill, doing an activity which she expounded
on board in advanced. So the activity was about making two questions of three to everyone,
those questions were based on experiences, holidays and embarrassing moments in our life.
Although the professor Chantel read the syllabus completely and explained some rules in
order to develop a professional class during the semester. The class finished successfully and I
prepare to go to the library before going to lunch. During lunch I realize that a good friend of
mine was crying, so I got close to her and she shared the table. She told me something about her
home problems, but while the lunch was in progress everything was getting better. After lunch I
went to my second hour class with Ms. Cecilia, who is my Linguistic teacher. We were talking
about the syllabus and we watched an interesting video related phonology, syntaxes, pragmatism
and more. Therefore we filled the board with all the answers which Cecilia asked us from the
video until the end of the class.
The time to go to the gym started. As always form Monday to Thursday I am going to the
gym to feel comfortable and release toxins and stress. Today was a hard day because it was my
first day for working out my abs. At the end of the hour gym I met with Pathom, who is a
freshman at NMSU, and I met once again with Olivia, she is one of the beautiful students on the
campus. We were talking about our careers like students. I told her how my country is like? too.
After that Pathom, Olivia and I went to Garcias Hall to play ping pong together, and he
introduced me a new friend Roger, who was playing with us a lot.
Finally, I had to leave them, because the day was getting dark. So I went to Taos
restaurant for my dinner and I continued reading my book for one more hour. I arranged my bag

to get to my home placed in Cole Village in order to take a shower, and connect with my family
to bless them, study, write in my diary and take a rest with the bless of the Lord.

Sometimes people need a lesson because his wrong bad behaviors with others can affect
the feeling of others. Well, today has been a great day, consisting of different and interesting
affairs and events. My day started as always, with full of blessings and energy. First of all I took
a bath completely; I kept in touch with my family and then the first event happened when two
friends were waiting for me outside to invite me a breakfast because my birthday was the last
August 26. Then I followed them, and when we got to the house of one of them, more friends
were waiting for singing to me Happy Birthday to you and I had to use a party hut. That
moment was very exciting because I never thought that someone could do something like that for
me. So we enjoyed rapidly taking pictures for facebook for memories, eating a chocolate cake,
and I received a present from them a birthday letter already signed of every one of them.
Following that, my first and unique class on Fridays was the next step. It was amazing,
because Dr. Ryan knew how to keep the class very busy during two hours and a half with a
familiar issue Universal of English Language Acquisition and Instruction. We filled some
information based on our life, and then we shared among us. Whereas the topic, she explained
briefly about the different between strategy and technique. Although, we enlist different of them
on board. We spread a quilt with the vocabulary in use and we wrote down in it more information
learnt. However we interacted together and I applied new words from my personal dictionary
such as strive, struggle and thrive. So thirty minutes before the end of the class we torn a
blank sheet out from notebook to answer five controversial questions about learning, but I could
answer very well because I read days before the text book Mastering ESL and Bilingual
Methods which it was referred to that.
Otherwise, the moment to be free came; I know that sounded corny but that meant Friday
began with many personal activities like going to the Activity Center to play basketball and
releasing the stress in the pool. The first sport activity was better than before because I could
play with some professional players and I had to be very fast to be in the same level with them.
We played twice full street ball game and I just won one of them, but it was very satisfactory for
me. I made more new friends and learnt new techniques as for example how to get the rim and
with such high jump dunk the ball. After that I met with four classmates Marco, David, Pablo
and Scarlet who hanged out in the pool around two hours and Scarlet introduced me a Mexican
friend who shares with us too.
It should be emphasized that today my friend Mrs. Kerly Torres was her birthday, so she
prepared rice with chicken and of course she invited me. I arrived late because I was connected
with my family. So when I said good bye blessed them as always, it was the moment to join to
the party, which I could hear clearly one hour ago because Kerlys unit is two units away from

mine. When I arrived I could realize that many Go Teachers have already eaten and dancing, but
one the guest have not been invited. So that person who belongs to the same cohort was writing
on facebook silly comments and talking behind most of us incorrect gossips making us feel bad.
That guess committed another imprudent action against a good friend of mine. That
imprudence broke out the party because one of the guesses stood up and began to insult him and
kick strongly on his legs for two minutes, until I had to block the kicker so as stop him. For
instance, the party ended and people had gone. But just five persons returned including the
kicker to apologize with the host, then for while we finally shared a good moment.
August 31, 2013
Always there is time for everything, but today I rested all the day after a hard week.
Today was one of the days that you do not want to leave the mattress under no circumstances. So
I slept all the morning, but first I had to say hello to my family by Skype. Hence I could nap
comfortably more than usual.
I woke up in the midday, I was starving, so I got up and I put my short and a t-shirt, and I
immediately went to Kerlys unit for food. Maybe I thought that food disappeared, because
people had gone early because of the ashamed affair last night. Luckily, I got enough food to
satisfy my starvation.
I came back to my bed after my delicious dish of Ecuadorean rice with chicken, and I
called my wife by Skype and suddenly she answered me appearing in the screen of my laptop
with my born daughter in her arms. That view was so deep for me, my heart stopped full of
happiness and I realized once again that God my Lord exists. I talked for two hours with my wife
while she was breast feeding our princess.
Later I asked for my son Marcos and my first daughter Daniela to say hello and send a lot
of kisses and reminded them that I love them every second of my life, and always I am going to
care them. After that I said see you later again, because I got a headache, and I needed to rest a
little more.
The time for dinner was closing and I got up one more time, to take a bath and get
dressed for going to the restaurant for my supper. Thanks to God everything was okay and I took
a walking through the buildings so as got my unit and tided up my bedroom and made my bed
for lying down to read a book Yes you Can by Jonathan Black. Taking in advantage, I am
going to mention about it. That book is very interesting and successful, because is entire of great
speakers and quotes If you think in negative terms, you will get negative results Near
Nightingale. All of them based on success in life, for example: Winston Churchill, Steven Covey,
Wilbert Ridean and much more. Therefore the book expounds about great people heroes of the
life, people who overcame many obstacles to become successful as Ronan Tynan, who was
disabled, in his case he lost his pair of legs and notwithstanding he won a gold medal in Special
Olympic about thirty years ago.

Finally the night was getting dark and the weather was turned a little bit fresh and the
time for sleeping started, but before I thanked my Lord for this magnificent day, which I could
get my human energy to be ready for the next day. I prayed for several minutes, and at the same
time I was practicing my English because I pasted the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Creed on
the wall, in order to learn step by step for being more ready when I go to the Holy Mass St.
Albert, Newman every Sunday.

The time for the challenges is waiting for us. Today I went to the Holy Mass as every
Sunday, because I am grateful for all of the blessings from the Lord. In addition to ask for
healthy life and a good dwelling here in Las Cruces at New Mexico State University as a ESL
student.
At least I finished reading my first book of the second semester. I have already taken
several new vocabularies which I am adding to my personal dictionary. Personally I feel well
because I am doing the right things, in despite of many fiends criticizing me, because I do not
want to speak any word in Spanish, no matter where I am or Who I am with, just I decided to do
that one months ago.
I spent all the morning after the breakfast and all the afternoon working on the book and
checking information related ELL, ESL, ESOL and EFL, because as an educator I want to be
updated with these issues. Furthermore, there are many pieces of information online about these,
and I always keep the target in my mind, that means Be One of The Best Successful Teacher in
Ecuador.
While I was sitting in a corner of the ballroom in Corbet Center, I could appreciate how
the culture of the American students is clearly different, because most of them are very friendly,
and they do not mind for the trends. A couple of things happened to me today. The first one was
when a likeable woman approached me and she asked me very politely if she could sit on the
same coach where I was, so I was surprised because of her politeness. The second one was a girl
asked me for money. She told me that she is studying on the campus, but she does not have
enough money to continue doing. Of course, I did not give money, because I never believed her
speech.
Finally as every day, the time for dinner came, and I put away my stuffs in my backpack
and I arranged my clothes, to be presentable. After that, I went to dinner, and I met more friends
sitting in a big round table, so I sat with them and we were telling jokes and sharing many good
things. Then I had to take my dishes away and placed them in the kitchen. I took my backpack
and I decided to go back home before the eight of the night, in order to take a bath and be in
contact with my family, because tomorrow in my country will be regular classes and journeys.
During the walk I was watching the sky and observing the sundown in the horizon, while my
mind was thinking how wonderful the life is that our Lord has given us. And I always forgot,

today in the mass I learnt You take our sins away of the world, that means that I could
recognize better that before when the father was taking during the mass. That was nice for me, I
feel good and I know that I have to reading and working myself for enhancing my English skills.

Everyone has a hero inside; just we have to stern on this. Hi once again, Today was a
wonderful day, I had a grin to everyone. In addition, I started reading my second book, which I
requested two weeks before from Carlsbad New Mexico. Well, all of the affairs happened after
the typical and familiar morning, which meant taking a bath, tidying up my bedroom, making my
bed and blessing my family on Skype. Afterward, my day is ready to start.
First at all, as always I did my long walking so as my breakfast, suddenly I had forgotten
that today is holiday in NM, because it held the Labor Day for everyone. However few
employers were working for feed to the residents, despite other places were close, as for example
Activity Center, The Pool, Garcias Hall and others. But I took in advance reading my new
weekly book by Benjamin Carson Think Big, I already watched a movie based on his story in

After of that very interesting meeting, I looked for a free personal computer, in order to
be on contact with my family again, and it was so fun, because the only one free computer had a
problem with the key Z, and my username is mvinueza, so I could not enter until someone to
left free one.
The time flew rapidly and the day was getting dark, and the time of the lunch came.
When I was taking my dinner Milton a Go teacher colleague asked me for my ball to play
basket, so I gave my unit key so as he went at my unit to pick up.

Finally my day ended with an interesting basketball game, but the most important was
that more Go Teacher colleagues were joined to play. We finished the game so exhausted, no
matter who won or who lost; the most important was the fraternity. That was my day today.

The lack of personality in someone is the division of another consequently. Hi, today was
a great day as every day. I have to bear some past trouble and comments that people sometimes
say to each other. As always I had to fulfill with the daily routines before going. However the
time to listen odd comments and the distance between us came.
The first deed of the day started when I wanted to pick a friend up, so as go together to
have breakfast, but that act of mine was such a drag, because that friend had the first class at 11 o
clock, and her answer just was I want to sleep, because I will have my first class later, so that
attitude was disappointed for me, because I know that we have in the second semester an
easygoing schedule instead the last semester, but I am thinking that we have to strive ourselves
our limitations an take in advantage our free time doing something interesting.
Inasmuch as the morning was flying, the first class started and it was pretty fun, because
we had to work in peers a develop performance based on the real life, and that was nice for me
because I love the theater and my classmate was perfect for that. So we made a good and funny
performance about marital troubles.
After the class, I went to Corbett in order to read the chapter one and two of the text book
The Study of Language by George Yule. Those chapters taught me many important things as
English Teacher, one of them The origins of the language and Animals and human language.
Although the topic mentioned before was the issue for the teacher could expound to everyone,
giving some prompts and tasks to develop in classroom.
After that I went to the gym to recover my physical state again, but today I was
accompanied by some, she is a good friend of mine. She decided to go with me to the gym
because she said that her days before were boring and she wanted to take up in the Activity
Center. Another thing which s very important to explain, is that decision also was because she
wanted to distance herself from her roommate, because she spent all the time on facebook, she
stayed at home most all the time sleeping and buying clothes on the internet.
Something important to say, is how much time people waste time on facebook, because
these persons could take in advance that time in something better related to our scholarship, but I
realize that many of them do not strive themselves, hence they get bored and lazy.
Finally, when I fulfill my shoulder routine in the gym, my friend invited me to attend
Zumba classes, but I have to say no, because I had to return home to get in contact with my
daughter Daniela. My first daughter got a low achievement the last week in English classes in

her elementary school. So I, as father, had to respond to that situation, so as enhance and strive
her doubts and practice daily checking out the pedagogical contents with her simultaneously by
Skype and so it was. It should be empathized that we are going to work together for weeks.

Sometimes people behave like spoiled children. Hi once again, today was a great day as
always, full of things and news. First at all with the bless of my Lord, everything went forward.
So, today I got up entirely of energy to work. I could not keep in touch with my family because
my wife went to the childrens school to attend a dance performance of our first daughter Daniela
Vinueza, who dressed a princess costume. I would like to see her.
Moreover, my breakfast was pretty good, because I could sit in the restaurant on the
corner where none could interrupt with corny gossips. I read ten pages of my book while I was
enjoying my bacon mixed with eggs and a plate full of grapes covered with yogurt. I loved It.!!!
Next, I went to my first hour class where I could learn about methods which improve the process
of reading. Those were very interesting. Incidentally, everyone was checking the function of the
parts of speech on context with a funny game based on match meanings with the correct clue
words. That strategy seemed very useful for being applied in my classroom in the future.
Accordingly, when the class was over, I approached tentatively to the professor for help.
What Kind of help? I explain about my personal diary Go Teacher My Expertise, so as she
can help me with the correction of my grammar in context. At first, she looked worry, because I
imagined that she would not more work, but inasmuch we were talking about some authors like
George McKenna, Ben Carson, Jonathan Black and Nightingale, she accepted my request for
helping me. After that my Methods class was the next step, and it was very interesting because
Dr. Ryan taught us the differences about ESL, EFL, ENL and ESOL. And something very
important that she mentioned was about that We can create our English environment, and that
was true, because no matter where we could stay, we just had to do it.
Indeed, the time of classes had gone and my sports and reading time started. First I had
lunch with a professional group of Ecuadorean Teacher, who were chatting about our hours
classes, and how our academic instructors are striving for teaching us in the best way every day.
Suddenly the good conversation turned on gossip about some specific classmate, who were
making many other classmates uncomfortable because of their wrong temper. But I preferred to
get up and went away politely. Immediately, I ran to the Zuhl library to be alone and engage in
reading my book. I spent two hours and a half on my book, which was very pleasurable. Then I
bless myself for the opportunity to read and had been understood the chapter two, which I had
already finished successfully.
Finally, I attended the gym as every day, and I worked out my biceps and triceps a lot. I
finished exhausted, but It was very nice for releasing the daily stress. Then I took my heavy
backpack full of text books and a big package with Methods information for the classes. After

Being a teacher is just for people who love teaching. Hi my dear diary, another day has
elapsed and I felt very happy and very nostalgic too. The first one because I will get home soon
and the second one, because I will miss this experience as NMSU students. Anyway, today my
day was interesting, because after the daily morning routine, I could notice the fact of some
classmate by my own. I enjoyed reading my weekly book before the first class in which I
understood the importance of a good teacher in our life and how he or she had affected our goals
in our career.

First at all, in my class of Listening, Speaking and Discussion, I worked a lot and I could
interact with my classmates about the videos that we had seen from TED.education. That was
pretty fun, although sometimes I demanded more activities. After that the instructor asked that
we had to go outside on the campus to develop some interviews to different students with
questions based on their free time, what are they studying?, why did they decide to study here,
and more. However, inasmuch the class was in progress, the presentation came about Me Bag
oral activity and I remember one of the three questions, which the instructor asked to one of my
classmate Will you expect being a teacher for the rest of your life, and immediately the odd
answer grew No, I will not. I am here in this scholarship to get to know the USA, but I will have
to fulfill with two years and immediately I will create my own Cyber business. That though
killed me totally and I felt as our government was tossing the money to the garbage, because I
considered this scholarship is just for teacher who would like to strive and look toward the
successful of our Ecuadorian youth, hence they will be the positive future of our country.
After such a pitiful moment before, I continued with my journey normally but
disappointed. Besides, my linguistic class was coming soon, and I took in advance rapidly to go
to pick up my Bus Pass card, in order to use the public transportation for free. That is
awesome!!!
My Linguistic class was amazing because we took the topic about the origin of the
language and its theories and the instructor expounded What is the human language?. Whereby,
the questions and right answers were arriving satisfactorily.
Finally, I went to the gym to work out my chest and shoulders. Then, I went in a hurry to
my dinner. It should be emphasized that the food was delicious because there were fried chicken
with sweet corn and mashed potatoes. At a good time I could sit with some Ecuadoreans friends

A great mentor leaves a significant message everlasting. Hello everyone, Today as always
was an outstanding academic and working day full of activities, new words learnt, good friends
and of course delicious and healthy food.
Well, as every day after I woke up early for the new day, but today I got up late, that
meant I could not eat my breakfast. Thanks to God, I had time to dress and went directly to my
first class. But before that I picked through up my Listening and Reading texts.
During my Methods class with Dr. Ryan, I really enjoyed her classes, because she took
important issues based on education. For example, today we know about CREDE, and we were
filling the board with right ideas and thoughts. I was very interested in this topic and for that
reason I checked information about it the last week in advance. It would be emphasized that I
could realize the real goals, following some standards and specific strands.
Moreover, I understood clearly the philosophy of CREDE All children can learn, which
was deeply in my heart because, as teachers we have to be totally convinced about that.
Furthermore, when the moments of questions were opened, and suddenly emerged an interesting
question from a classmate what can I do if I have a blind student in my classroom? Should he
go to a special foundation or institution because I do not know what to do? and my professor
answered Do not be afraid, Just do it. Consequently the first thing that I murmured was she
was right, and I was thinking about that she proposed a new quote.
Whereby, I decided on my own to check strategies and techniques for disabled children
as deaf, mute, blind, autism and more, because I do not want to fold my arms doing nothing, so
inasmuch the profession as teacher demand more researches and competences for everybody. I
thought and I will. Semper fi!!!. Because of that, I could say that I had gotten different mentors,
who had given to me significant and positives target in this scholarship for my future career.
So, the time for having lunch came and I could say the food was delicious, because there
were chicken corns, mash potatoes, salty source with biscuit. Although I shared the table with a
good friend of mine, who is from El Paso, and the most she was speaking all the time in English
because she knew that I just spoke in English during the scholarship, notwithstanding she knew
Spanish very well. For instead, I was practicing around two hours English talking about how
Ecuador is like, the costumes , extreme sports, the government, main cities, etc. Therefore, the
time of reading started, I went at Zuhl Library to read and continued working on new words,
quotes, expressions and more.

so as relax and release the daily hard work. As always I had to return at home, in order to review
daughters English classes with her. Then my wife was in contact with me to say me I love you

Knowing new things is fantastic and none can take away your memorable experiences.
Hi, how you doing everybody? Today was a great sporting day. The civilized citizens made the
difference today, instead of undeveloped citizens countries which have to get better.
Today as always was a wonderful day for me with the Blessing of the Lord. After my
daily routine with my family, I prepared my backpack with all the necessary things for the day
such as, my own dictionary, the book the reading Think Big by Ben Carson, my folder, and an
extra T-shirt for the Gym work out. First of all, I went to have breakfast and immediately I went
to the Zuhl library so as continue reading my book, but today was pretty incredible, because I
cried and I could not stop doing it, because the book mentioned an important incident of Ben
Carson professional life, it was when he with his professional medical staff decided to operate
Christopher Pylant who arrived with his parents at Hopkins Hospital.
The story of that blessed family started months before when it son was discovered that
their son had a malignant tumor in his brain stem and no one wanted to help him because was
determined as inoperable and they wanted to wait until he died. Despite they never gave up and
they decided to meet Dr. Carson, but he gave the same diagnosis, but immediately a phase rose
from Neil Pylant God will heal my son using you recalling that phrase several times insomuch
Ben believed in that and the miracle was done and after two surgeries the boy did not need more
chemotherapy or something else (1984) pp. 117-125. That real incidence impacted me totally and
I thought How your faith on God is able to do everything you want.
After that remarkable moment I noticed myself that I could find an unnumbered expertise
in books and sometimes seemed as someone was telling me that in life. Moreover, the time to go
to the match NMSU vs MINNESOTA was coming soon, so I put away my things and I rushed to
the stadium early because I wanted to get free food and a T-shirt for my wife. I got them, and
although took some pictures of the Musical Band rooting the NMSU American Football team
before the game was awesome and peaceful, and I compared how in my country people do the
same but the difference is when maladjusted citizens make strikes in damages to the people.
Anyway, I enjoyed totally, notwithstanding the sun was burning me, anyhow I did it.
Therefore, I left the stadium thirty minutes before it ended, because sincerely I did not
understand anything about it, but I liked the opening, how this culture enjoyed and supported the
team and the flamboyant ladies. All of them were part of the culture and customs.

Finally, as I mentioned I left early, and I went to eat Chinese food, because I did not go to
dinner. While I was eating, some good Ecuadorean friends arrived and we ate together and
shared the game, because they were there too. We returned home together chatting and chatting
during the long walking. So, when I got into my unit or house in the Cole Village I rushed to my
dorm, so as told everything I did during the day, and then that I blessed my family before they
went to bed and I started typing my daily notes.

A single day can become a memorable day for the rest of my life. Hi, how are you once
again? I hope that you are doing well. Today is still Sunday and this day almost ends. I enjoyed
my day notwithstanding some fun activities such as playing basketball; spending time on
facebook or hanging out with friends. Do you want to know what did I do? So follow me in the
lecture then.
Right, my day started at 6:30 am with the Bless of the Lord, and the daily routines
happened normally and the time to arrange my backpack began. I put away my books of Reading
because I was desperate to see how they do like, and how much interesting they will be for me in
this last semester. I left my home full of hope and energy to reach my goals today, those meant in
one hand finish to read my weekly book Gifted Hands by Ben Carson with Ceci Murphey, and
in the hand to know more about the reading books which the scholarship had provided me.
I went to the restaurant to get my breakfast as always, because I awarded that I needed a
lot proteins and vitamins to be awake during The Single Day. Whereby I rushed to the Zuhl
Library after breakfast and I was addressed to the third floor in the west in it. In addition, I
reminded something remarkable for me, and it was when I entered the third floor I could notice
the smell of the books surrounding the environment and I could say a Scent for my day.
Inasmuch, the morning was switching to the afternoon I had already finished to read my book
and it was very sad and melancholic for me because I lived different kinds of emotions during
this. But as everything had to finish, it happened insomuch I took a picture myself with this
significant book.
Immediately after that, I stood up and stretched my arms and legs, so as prepared the next
step of my day, and it was to discover how much challenge it will be the reading books for me. I
sat down and rose my legs to the chair to be more comfortable. I read the introduction to the
teacher, contents, scope sequences, passage and acknowledges, and I felt satisfy with them, so I
began to read them and complete some activities in advance.
However, the afternoon was running. I was getting hungry, and I watched the time, and I
could see that it was time for dinner 6:00 pm. I put away my things again in order to satisfy my
hunger. After I went at home to pick up my dirty clothes and carried to the laundry. I waited
during one hour reading outside, then when they were ready; I took them to carry again at my
home and hung up them in the strings in the back yard.

Finally I got my dorm to prepare my stuffs for the next day, and before going to bed I was
in contact with my family and blessed them and I told the how much I was missing them. Then I

Be on time, does not mean be clock, but rather be ready in advance. Hello everyone,
after my single day. Today was so peaceful and I lived some different experiences. As well I
began reading my new book Education for Freedom by Robert Maynard Hutchins and I played
a delectable basketball street game with American and Ecuadorean people.
Today was an unusual day because I woke up late 7:00 am, that was funny because I had
to take a bath, brushed my teeth, and say good morning to my family on Skype rapidly. Thanks
of God my backpack was ready the night before as always. So I went to eat my breakfast jogging
a little bit because I was late with my schedule. During the breakfast I sat with my roommate
David Villagomez whom I could not give much time to chat with him, but during five minutes
we did it well.
My first class started on time, but someone of the classmate arrived very late, and for that
reason foreign people say outside Ecuadorean hour, that means a terrible concept about us,
because we as Ecuadoreans have to change our minds and do the things on time, without any
excuses I am sorry, I forgot my book, I was lost and more. Although, something pitiful
happened during the class was in progress. That was when the instructor Tamara realized that the
majority of the students did not have the text books, and she asked why? , and just the responses
were flying on the air The text books were over, but I remind that in the coordinators office
the boxes were full of them, and I could get all of them because I was there thirty minutes before
the start time. In that moment, I could realize that they arrived late or clock. I remembered
some phrases form my Lieutenant when I was in the military high school in my country Thirty
minutes before the time is the time, be clock is to be late, that deeply phrase have been
something significant that I could not forget in all my whole life up to now.
After that my class of Methods was doing well, and many new concepts were getting
more important meanings for everyone who wanted to be a right and professional teacher after
this scholarship. I mentioned this last sentence because something disappointing emerged during
the hour class, it was when I was sharing information about the new concepts and acronyms one
of my group murmured that is the reason why I will not be a teacher, I am just here to learn
English, that was terrible for me to hear him, I felt as a hurricane had been over me. Because of
that I made the decision to talk after the class with some of the people who are in charge of this
Go Teacher Program. Then I met with one of them exactly at 1:00 clock in the afternoon. I
expressed my delighted concerns about this and how many of the classmates thought in the same

way, and it is the worst because I thought how much money our Ecuadorean government had
invested in us, so as will become the professional who are going to go forward with our students
and pupils when we will arrive to Ecuador again, instead of wasting time on facebook in classes
or outside, wasting time three days in parties or for just knew USA and learnt English as they
said while the purpose here is learn new Methodologies and Strategies for working in an ecology
good environment with different culture indentifying the dimension of them throughout their
biographies.
Finally I could say that today was a worry day, but in another hand after that affair I spent
reading for three hours in the library and the day ended with a exhausted basketball game in the
Activity Center with many friends and I got at home and I continued with my jobs.

Good enough is not perfect, so it is not perfect, it is not good enough. Do it again!
Doakes Lemuel. Hello dear readers, thank you for your time in this my own diary. Today was a
cold and wet day, because most of the time was raining and making cold winds, hence everything
had been wet and cold, notwithstanding that I had to advance in my goals.
First at all, I could say that my day began in the Corbett Center, after I blessed my family
I went there, and I ate my delicious breakfast, after that something good happened during my
breakfast, a good friend of mine approach me and said to me Good Morning in English. That
moment surprised me a lot because I thought Thats odd, because most of the time classmate
had spoken Spanish to other. However, she sat with me, and she was speaking with me in
English too, that was awesome because for a while I did not feel alone in my thought. Thus, she
confessed something interesting to me, it was that she realized she needed enhance everyday and
she did not want to spend her time at home on facebook or napping as others who did not mind if
they became a good professional during this scholarship. Whereby I asserted her, and I showed
her my gratitude, and I said some words We are not native English speakers, but we can make
our own English environment, and if we strive ourselves, we can get good results at the end,
hence we have not done enough yet.
Apparently my day was going well, because the good moments in my breakfast, thus I
went to the Zuhl Library to consult some meanings of the words form the Linguistic textbook.
After that I addressed to my first hour class, and I surprised for me that nobody was in the
classroom because our Listening instructor got sick. For instance, I went immediately to the Zuhl
Library once again, to complete my words.
As it might be expected the raining continued all the day, and I remembered that my left
had my clothes in the yard, hence all of them got wet again. Then, I went to my Linguistic class,
and I learnt many things about how the language and the brain are involved to produce

expressions. Although the importance of the left hemisphere in the process of language and the
steps to get the production of the speech, the word sound entered by the ears via Wernickes area,
then the information went through the accurate fasciculus, and, finally, it was transferred directly
to the Brocas area where with the help of the Motor Cortex it became in an oral production. It
was incredible and I realized one more time that we as teacher we have to investigate and make
different research, because it is not enough to learn a new language and pedagogy, but rather be
person who can help to others applying new strategies and discovering more techniques to do it
better.
Finally, I went to the gym as always to work out my shoulders and back, and suddenly I
noticed more new for me, those were that more classmates took up working out there, and
everyone said to me hello Marcos. That was pretty good, because they realized themselves that
staying at home and not doing anything is not good, and we have different activities to keep our
mind busy. As a matter of fact, my day was nice and comfortable and because of that I returned
home elated to finish my day with the Blessing of the Lord. Amen.

Sometimes the frustration is part of the Teaching Learning Process. How are you doing
my fellow? Today was a very excited day. I learnt a lot in my reading class, because she provided
feedback on Subject-Verb Agreement, hence for me it was very clear. Then in my Methods
class I lived a critical moment, but I learnt two important things from that affair.
Undoubtedly, I had a remarkable day, because in my Reading class I could observe how
the English Grammar could trick me if I did not know very well about Subject Verb Agreements,
it was very important for me, whereby I can develop my daily better letters. Then, she assessed
our understanding based on this important grammatical topic.
However the day was flying and the Methods class began with a nice warm up as
always. Furthermore, my instructor switched the groups, so as we could share with different
classmates. For instance, my group was pretty good, because I always try to relate with
everyone. Suddenly, something happened, my instructor asked for volunteers and as always I
raised my hand and I could participate as well. She wanted to introduce the meanings of BIC and
CALP, hence the volunteers and I developed the activity called Chain Story. However the first
round was a piece of cake for the group, because we just had to start a story about what we did
the last weekend, but the second round was the critical part for me in this scholarship, because
the instructor gave the clue word to start the story Photosynthesis, also we could not say the
words (sun, light, color, plant, and change), hence for us was extremely difficult gave details
without those words. As instance of that activity I realized how much constrained we were if we
did not know more vocabulary and not just repeat the same and the same daily, but rather apply
more new words to our knowledge and use them either in context or orally.

Consequently, after that difficult moment in front of everyone I decided to practice more
and create some exercise sheets with every word, part of speech and English meaning from my
personal dictionary. As a matter of fact, I felt frustrated for a while, because I knew that I had to
strive myself more and more. Therefore I started working on my exercises sheets immediately as
soon as I got home.
Anyway, I went to the Zuhl Library to read for two hours approximately and I addressed
later to the gym as always and I could get a T-shirt for free, because in the basketball court there
was a table in which you could register you ID number, phone and name, in order to participate
in four games, for example shots to the rim and dropped the American Football through a
medium ring. Thus, I did successfully and I after that I got my T-shirt. In addition, I could predict
those delighted games were not just a single thing, but rather a strategy to discover sport talents,
because in the register card they took note about your score.
In sum up, my interesting day ended with some new thoughts, but primarily in ideas for
enhancing my vocabulary and English level. Also, I could enjoy some adorable pictures just
taken of my children. Immediately, I was in contact with my family and thanks to God
everything was good and happy.
September 12, 2013.
Being a leader means carrying an enormous bag, but in this case it is a bag of
responsibility and wisdoms. This day was very intensive, because I joined thought regarding
leaders and their duties. Although I did not have Linguistic classes, I spent my time in a right
way.
First at all, I woke up very happy because I realized that the weather is changing, which
means the fall was coming and I had to say good bye to the summer. All the morning was
raining, although the day seemed sad for some Go Teacher friends, for me it was nice, because I
could feel another kind of weather here in Las Cruces NM. It should be emphasized that my last
day with a raining was in my city Guayaquil-Ecuador. Hence, I reminded my family too but I did
not feel homesick.
My class of Listening and Speaking was fun, because we did some groups and we
developed activities from text book and we talked about Leaders as well. The technique that
the instructor applied was interesting, because everyone of the group was a reporter and we were
expounding about our thoughts. For instance everybody knew about everyone and each one
could report to someone.
As I mentioned before, I did not have a Linguistics class, but in that free time I could
know another place on campus where I could use my ID card to buy. That place was a restaurant

where the food was similar to my country, of course I asked for some brown beans and tortillas
with cheese, and I enjoyed almost 30 minutes of that. That was delicious.
At first glance, the rest of the day seemed a little bit boring, but I decided to go at Zuhl
Library, so as read the last thirty pages missing of my book. That was interesting; because I took
in advance the afternoon and that meant more time for the gym and playing basketball.
Undoubtedly, I felt very exhausted after the gym, because I got more time, but something
interesting took place. More people I could meet and more experiences I could live with them.
One of them was, I could go to the Corbetts auditorium to watch a movie for free Fast and
Furious, and it was amazing as a result of that encounter I learnt some expression as Holy
Moly, jajaja, that was funny.
As a matter of fact, I got more facebook sites and a thought came to my mind The
acculturation means to be part of the culture, not act like them. That means people sometimes
want to speak using the same guttural sounds like foreigners and look like them in customs and
clothes, instead of showing where he or she is from.
Definitely, I had a productive day certainly with different situations. It should be
emphasized that the rain was entirely all the day and the outings were a little bit complicated,
because my books and notebooks could get wet. In addition to my clothes got wet because I
forgot to tidy up my clothes once again. Anyway, the day was nice and the moment to keep in
touch with my family was coming to tell all about the day, weather and affairs and it was so.

We have to look for the opportunities, and not fold the arms waiting for those to knock on
your door. Nice day today, because I was planning some outings in order to get more information
about the education in the USA, but in this case Las Cruces.
On the hand I was very excited, because the class of Methods, as my group had to hold a
performance based on Early production and I was going to represent the teacher of the
classroom and my colleagues were the students. All was ready for the performance but the class
was cancelled. But something peculiar happened, it was that I as well as some classmates did not
know about the class being cancelled. For instance, I noticed that just people who had been on
facebook knew about it early. Sometimes I thought that some friends could become masters
during this scholarship on facebook, because they spent a lot of time on that.
Because of that situation, I was at Corbett Center to developing some interviews for my
academic outing to Las Cruces High School. This idea was wonderful, because I considered that

not all the information is in textbooks, and the time to learn and observe the different experiences
of some teacher came in the real life. Hence, I was checking schedules and the names of the staff
including the principal on internet. Also, I wanted to know more about ESL (English as a Second
Language), because here there are many citizens from different countries including Mexico.
Inasmuch the afternoon was in progress I decided to play basketball, but today was very
challenging for me, because when I went to the Activity Center, and I went to the basketball
courts I saw many sport men playing as professional NBA, and while I was observing a couple
of games I could see some tricks and movements to trick the opponent. These were astonishing.
Suddenly, one of the players asked me to play five and five, and I said immediately
yes. I had been playing with NMSU students before, but today was different because the level
of game was high, but anyway I could do something. During the game I needed to run rapidly
and the few opportunities that I could dominate the ball was very stressful because sometimes we
play offensive and defensive, but the most complicated moment was when the game turned in
man-to-man, because my opponent was higher than me and the likelihood to take the rebound
were minimum. At the end the best option was press on defense, and creates havoc!
Finally, the game finished and I could do eight points and luckily I did the last point in
the zone of three, because one of my team passed the ball, and I took the risk to drop directly to
the rim and I shot it. That was game and we were the winners at least.
On balance, my day had two different stations I could say on the one hand the ideas came
out from my mind to make some interviews at Las Cruces High School and on the second hand
the fabulous chance to play with real basketball players. After that I left the Activity Center
elated and very very sore after the game. I took a comfortable shower and I took to my laptop, so
as being in contact with my family as every day.

Thats not the kind of life that God wants for you Sonya Carson. The day has twenty
four hours, the week seven days and the months thirty days, that means four weeks and once
hundred sixty eight hours. How much time we use to study, read, family, outings, God, friends,
health, appearance, technology and sleep. Do you know how many hours? That means that we
need a monthly plan or daily plan. However, the time is flying in our life and the things are
happening around us, and when we decide to do something different and special, we have to
grasp it.

Today as every day I woke up giving the acknowledgement to our Lord for one day more
of life. Furthermore, I decided to work on my assignments in advance. In the morning I had the
pleasure to have breakfast with three good friends Mariela, Wendy and Kerly. They are married
and they always support themselves, and all weekends they went shopping. After breakfast, one
of them, Wendy, asked me if I was going to the Zuhl Library, and I nodded saying as always.
Then she went with me, and the others had gone shopping. That is being shopaholic.
Meanwhile, we addressed our targets, did our assignments, we entered and she took her
place in the first floor because she did not bring her laptop, thus she had to use the personal
computer in that area, and I went to the third floor. That was fine, because it had been the first
time that some came with me, but it would had been that we worked together.
The time flown when I heard from the speaker on the ceiling In thirty minutes the place
will be closed, please be sure to check your belongings and observe that devices were
unplugged. In that moment I put away my things and I went to the counter, so as returned the
book Education for Freedom and checked it out a new one for the next week The Purpose
Driven Life by Rick Warren. I thought that I would spend more time reading such a book,
because it was about three hundred thirty five pages. It should be emphasized that I chose the
book from one of the suggestions from the book Gifted Hands.
I went to dinner and I came back home, where I decided to watch a movie and relax for
this night, because I did my duties and I deserved a break .The movie which I could enjoy was
named Cataleya in English Cattleya. That movie was interesting, but was not for children,
because it was based on a girl who lost her parents, because they belonged to Colombian killers.
She looked for revenge after fifteen years. Whereby, she trained herself in order to become a
professional killer and cunning girl.
After the movie, I thought about the purposes of our life, and God had sent, it would be
for something important, and I considered that one of them is helping people; despite we became
a killer or murder as well. We have to discover that every day, each minute and second.
In conclusion, my day was a busy day, and I gave my best effort to God thinking of in my
family as well. After the movie I was chatting with my family and she was telling me about how
my children love me and miss me. She sent me some Kamilitas pictures. Those pictures were
adorable, because my wife dressed our baby with some cute baby clothes that my first daughter
wore when she was the same age. It was incredible and I remember when my Daniela was just a
baby and now she is growing rapidly. My day ended in that way. Excellent.

There are many ways to be happy. Good day to everyone. For me it was a nice and
exhausted mental journey today. Sometimes I do not want to wake up from the bed, because
there are some excuses as I am tired today is raining Five minutes more and so on, but I
always think The early bird catches the worm, hence I rose my encouragement and
immediately I woke up, I took a fresh shower, prepared my books and laptop and I started my
wonderful day.
First at all, I was in contact with my family and automatically I went for my breakfast.
Secondly I went to the Dollar Tree, to buy some personal things for the bathroom and dorm,
and personal hygiene. Then, I got all of my things, and I went to the park in order to sit for a
while and take a rest but awake and observing how people in the park enjoyed with their
families, relatives and friends. That was a little bit sad, because I wanted to be with my family as
well.
In addition, I could share with some new friends who were dressing a kind of armor and
they were fighting, but in a friendly way, because they told me that they just were making sport,
instead of fight. One of them, approach me first (Ginnine), and she was a wonderful woman with
shiny eyes in order to invite me to fight. Awesome I could dress one armor and I could feel
maybe how people felt in centuries years ago using that heavy and uncomfortable armor on me.
For instance, I made some friends and I was dealing with them to go to the White Sand the next
week.
After that, I went to the Zuhl Library to do some assignments in advance. However in the
library I got some problems with the internet connection, whereby I was prepared with my utp
network cable, so as connect directly to the campus red. As might be expected, it did not work,
and I was so angry and desperate because I could not advance with my activities.
Consequently, I thought that I had to solve the problem immediately, but I forgot
something, and that was Sunday and all everyone Centers and Halls were closed. When the
signal came again I could start my job normally.
One of my duties was to know what kind of book I had chosen for the weekend, and I
was delighted by reading that book. I could remind myself quote every single moment, because it
represented all my life and just two lines You need the Lord in your life, not because you are
going to die tonight, but because you have got to live tomorrow Rick Warren.
Also, I had already sent my first Signature Line by Canvas. That Methods assignment
was based on extract four sentences from chapter three and made some serious thoughts related
on those, and ending with a global conclusion.

Every day we can learn a lot of important things about writing. Experiences is part of the
human learning, because I cannot day that I know everything in the life. Whereby, today was
very interesting because in both classes I learnt new things.
My first class impressed me a lot, because the instructor Tamara Anastka showed entirely
knowledge about paragraph structures, as a result of that I learnt and I could realize my mistakes
in writing. Also she developed a professional warm up based on vocabulary already checked the
class before, but it was just for a feedback.
Therefore we worked on transition words and how to use them to connect ideas. That was
cool and it was astonishing for me. I took notes of everything, because I love writing and
reading, that meant I had to develop all of them correctly while I was writing and reading every
day.
Second, my methods class promised a lot, because instructor Ashley Ryan taught and
expounded us some theories about SUP (Common Underlying Proficiency) and CUP (Separate
Underlying Proficiency) and for sure how they are connected and what meant each one of them
with good examples. Inasmuch the class was making sense; everyone could participate and
assimilate the topic.
In addition, we presented a role play in Methods class, so as develop the different five
key hypothesis based on the descriptions of the theories of second language acquisition. Those
presentations were very funny and interesting as well as the conclusions and the examples
presented.
After that I went to the gym as well, and I met some friends Sandra and Martin playing
basketball, and after worked out my biceps and triceps and then I played basketball with them. It
was exhausting because we played against some Chinese players who were so much faster and
taller than us, and even though we lost two games, we finished so happy and excited.
Most importantly affairs of the days were how much knowledge we could learn much
new knowledge as well as skills in basketball game. Finally my day ended at home, connecting
with my wife and children. After that I continued with my academic duties. Thanks God.

The good opportunities are for people who are persistent. Today good was a very busy
and exhausted day, because I had to carry my heavy backpack the entire journey and my time
was very tight to fulfill the activities this day, but one of them was very significant for my
profession.
The purpose of the day was to get my own personal fulfillment and my duties. First my
academic journey started with a nice Listening class and activities developed during it. Today I
had to present about Me Bag, although the name of the activity sounds odd, it was fun and
interesting. In my turn I talked about the things and belongings which I carry in my backpack,
and how they represented who I am daily. Hence I took out all of them over the table in front of
my classmate, and I was explaining one by one while the power point slides were shown.
Moreover, we developed some good listening activities. The first one was from a video of
TED Education, it was based on how the importance of the book could help people who could
access the right education and real information of the things. Also, we had to take note about the
video, and later the instructor gave us some papers with questions based on the video. It was a
little bit difficult, but not impossible.
Also, in my Linguistic class, the instructor made a feedback of the last class, and she
expounded very well what were the differences between Methods, Techniques and Strategies as
well. Really I did not understand those in the first glance, and it was a quite confusing, but I
asked for an example in the classroom, and I exposed my example according to my knowledge
on that, and she could correct my mistakes. Then we were checking about The First Language
Acquisition, which is in the chapter thirteen, so as made five groups for a presentation based on
the new insight about this topic.
It should be emphasized; all the classes were outstanding but most importantly was
something that I had been waiting for days. It was that I registered for being a volunteer in the
Student Family Housing area, which meant I had to help the children of the Student Family
Housing area with their homework. This activity was held in the in the Computer Lab of the
Aggie Express Store every Tuesday and Thursday at 5-6:30 pm. It was exciting for me, because
on my first day I was with a child who was seven years old, and he had to create a fantasy story
using some characters already proposed by his teacher in the school.
In addition, I could share experiences and I interrelate with more students at NMSU. I
thanked my coordinator Joshua Vanderhoof because he gave good recommendations about me to
Leslie Gasper who is the Family Programming Coordinator in the campus and this day he had
lunch with me in order to tell me more information about it.

I can say that my day was very busy, but as well as busy it was very satisfactory for me
personally and for my experiences as an Ecuadorean teacher. Finally, I went to the gym, so as
worked out for a while, because my primary intention at Activity Center was playing basketball,
and for sure I did it, and I played with some friends and a new Go Teacher who decided to
practice with us, she was Martha, she is a intelligent person and a goof friend of mine. And I
returned home very exhausted, and I told everything about my elated day to my family.

The time is flying, and our families are waiting for us. Today was a great day, because as
every day I could learn some new things, but I felt bad, because I got fever, a terrible headache
and sometimes I was quite sickness. Also I was missing my family a lot, knowing that our sendoff is closing. In this moment ninety three days are left to get back to my country again.
Hello, I am very happy and sad as well. At this moment the time is 11:38 pm. That mean
is 12:38 in Ecuador and my family is sleeping while I am here working. That is good because I
accepted to come here and take this challenge with a lot encouragement since the first day.
Furthermore, the time to say good bye is closing and the new challenges in my country will start
soon. I am very emotional about, because during these first four months I have been like at
home, because the weather up to now, because it is fall. However sometimes I had felt a little bit
homesick, and I think that it s normal, because I am a human being with three children and wife
who I love so much.
The first thing about my academic day I can say that was very difficult for me, because
all day I was with fever and headache, but notwithstanding of that I knew very well that the
activities and classes had to go on.
Second, my Reading class was great and successful because I almost got a virtually rich
person. In the class today my instructor Tamara had prepared some activities for everyone. The
first one she gave us information about Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences. We sank in
them to be sure that was very clear, and after that we received a worksheet where we had to
choose the correct answer and she provide us another paper with some task to fulfill as well.
Finally we played a virtual game which every right answer we got virtual money in spite of we
did not get the ace, we tried very well. That was awesome.
Consequently, the time was flying and my fiber and headache had not got better, I was
worst. Anyway my Methods class was sad, because our instructor Dr. Ryan had a loss in her
family, for instance I felt very grieved for her. Whereby, my Linguistic instructor gave us some
instructions in the classroom for being developed during the two hours and a half.

After those hours classes I went to the Zuhl Library, but it was a bad moment because
with my illness I could not focus on my book and anything. Suddenly, I got totally sleepy and
after two hours I woke up. It was ashamed for me because there were many students around me.
What could they think about me? Hence, immediately I saw the time on my cell phone and I fled
the place to wash my face and drink water. Then, I went home directly because I was not hungry
and I needed to lie down on my bed and take a serious rest.
In conclusion, my day was difficult and complicated because my health, although while I
am typing my diary in this moment I am still with fever and headache. Maybe the big question is
Why I did not go to the Health Center for a checking? My answer is I do not like Doctors
and always I would rather heal myself instead to turning to Doctors. And, finally, I was in contact
with my family, and I went to my bed very optimistic that tomorrow will be a healthy day for
me. Amen.

Learning every day is part of being a successful teacher. Teacher is one of the professions
where common people can become leaders. Whereby there are many ways and performances to
do.
First, with the blessing of God today my day started very positively and my health unease
had almost disappeared. Today was one of the days which I felt very proud being a teacher. On
the one hand because my Listening class was based on activities where people develop daily and
this activity might be used for my students in the hour class. That activity was Mock Interview
and it was done successfully with the participation of all the classmates. In my group we
developed the interview based on characteristic of an English Academy Institution in which we
were searching for a good applicant for being a teacher in our fiction company. I was the boss,
my classmate Michaela was my secretary, and Mayra was the applicant. It was funny and
academically well done as well as the rest of the groups.
On the other hand, my Linguistic class was pretty good, because everybody had to
present a sketch, slide or comments about First Language Acquisition and Second Language
Acquisition as well. My group presented a sketch based on the L1 stages, whereby we used wig,
fake glasses, baby bottle, and baby musical toys. I characterized the father, who was from
Ecuador, and I could speak two languages, my classmate Kerly was the mother who was
American and she just sent the first input in English Language to the baby. Also, the baby was
Wendy who had to produce the different stages and the cooing and babbling during the
presentation. Furthermore, the presentation was in progress my friend Paul was the story teller
and at the end as you knows, every nice presentation ends with a good conclusion.

One of the important issues which I remember are Over Extension and Over Generalization.
I realized that they are very important to know as teachers, because it is part of the acquisition
process.
The kids capacity language is based on how much comprehensible input is relevant inasmuch

Finally, I could say that being a teacher is a profession which a person can develop in

Methods, strategies and techniques are three themes which must to be joined. Hello,
today was a grateful day for all the positive incomes and outcomes happened. Although, the
positive mood of the instructors for teaching made me feel comfortable and happy today.
Today my academic day started with Methods class. In this class, the instructor could
expound very well about Methods, strategies and techniques to be developed in the classes when
I will go back to Ecuador as well.
For instance of the class, I could understand the strategy that Dr. Ryan developed with us
and at the end we could feel how a student understood and comprehended in class. The activity
was amazing, because for students with not enough knowledge in English, they can fulfill with
the duties proposed. In addition, we did another activity, but in this case, it was based on how we
liked learning, and at the end a big surprise appeared. It was that any group did not like working
in groups, as a result of this the instructor Dr. Ryan had to mediate the outcomes of that activity
to look for a solution.
As it might be expected, many opinions as teacher students we could realize and mention
as for example: Identify each student is different, help to create a good environmental to help
students be comfortable, make class work for all students and adapt curriculum to needs of the
students.
After many critical thoughts and reflective insights the class was finished and I had to go
to the gym to release the stress and work out my body. Finally my day was amazing taking n
consideration all the strategies and techniques which I could learn and for sure I will stand in my
future class with my dear pupils and students.

Motivational songs definitely encourage the mood. One of the things which I love is the
music, and today I spend my time in the Zuhl Library, but I switched the environment with
motivational songs which I found on the internet.
First at all, today in the morning I went to the mass, so as to be closer to God and prayed
for my family and all the people who were in need around the world. Also let me mention that
today I could understand more words and praises from the Father Rev. Ray Flores.

Second, I went to the restaurant in order to have breakfast. I did it normally and after that
I went to the Zuhl Library to do my homework and assignments. Consequently, I enjoyed one
hour listening motivational music, and that experiment for my mind was amazing, because I
could feel very brave and encouragement. Although, I looked for motivational speech where
mention I am going to show you Who I am or If you have a dream, you must to protect it
and The pain is temporary, it can be for one minute, one hour, one month until one year, but
your brave heart will be everlasting and more for sure.
Meanwhile the time was flying and I advanced with my assignments as well.
Furthermore, I downloaded that kind of music so as working out in the gym every day. When the
day was getting dark my stomach was asking for food, because it was time for dinner. But before
to leave the library I thought to what do people ascribe their phenomenal success? I think that the
answer is on me; hence I will discover it.
I went to the restaurant and I could share a nice moment, because I was chatting with two
nice friends, and one of them is form my city Guayaquil and the another is from Ambato, the city
of the flowers and the fruits in my country Ecuador. They were very funny and we were making
some jokes with me and the most delighted was they were talking in English with me until I got
at home.
Finally, I arrived home very exhausted, because the hard day. Then immediately I took a
fresh bath and I turned on my laptop again to be in contact with y family. Thank to God
everything was fine and we were around two hours connected. During that time I could study
with my daughter by Skype, because she is taking exams of the first five month period. At last, I
listened once again motivational music before go to bed and I realized very well that is important
to look for an inspired place where a person can feel relax and happy. That is very important and
makes our dreams come true, notwithstanding the obstacles neither barriers in front of us. Just
get it.

All the academic information is very significant for this transition. Today was an
incredible day, despite there were some troubles in my learning, but at least I could understand
steadily. Thanks to God my day started with a positive song motivation which I downloaded
yesterday as I mentioned before and with the kiss of my family by Skype as every morning.
First, I had a very interesting class of Reading, because my wisdom instructor could
develop all the agenda proposed. It was very professional because I could see she was very
prepared as always. We practiced a lot about Restrictive Relative clauses until the information

was very understood by everyone. One of the things I liked was when she provided handouts for
extra information and activities, so she knew that the information on text book is not enough to
learn.
Second, my Methods class was very relevant, because we reviewed a topic which is very
extending to learn, but easy to develop in class. At the beginning I was not understanding
anything, but I was not the only one with that problem, because many of the classmates asked
different questions insomuch we needed a break. However inasmuch the class was in progress
and the main topics Cognitively Undemanding (Easy), Context- Embedded (clues), Cognitively
Demanding (Difficult) and Context- Reduced (Few Clues) were the central points in the
afternoon, we could receive the information clearly step by step. Besides I approached to the
instructor to clarify something important about the topics in the class. It was about us as
Ecuadorean focused the English learning in levels and not on skills and the prior knowledge.
Accordingly with the topics already checked during the first three weeks, we puzzled
information with images which the instructor provided us, so as a better comprehension of the
classes expounded by her.
Also, I was very excited in the gym, because I noticed that the weight I was working out
was not enough and I needed to add a little bit more than the last week. It was cool, because my
muscles and the encouragement had been working well. Let me mention something ashamed, it
was about I do not like working my abs because they are very painful. Furthermore, I remember
some phrases from motivational songs and I could work better. I knew how Rocky Balboa was
encouraged. In addition, Taos prepared delicious food, because it gave a special dinner for all the
NMSU students who had birthday in September. So Happy Birthday to everyone and blessings.
Finally, my journey ended with a nice walk with some friends and I was very grateful for
all the knowledge received plus the good use of the embedded theories during this academic
journey.

The motivation in class is one of the important issues in the teaching learning. One of the
new insights gotten today was about motivation in class and how L1 and L2 is the base in CUP
in order to get a new language. However, new vocabulary in Listening class was worked with
professional strategies during class.
First, my day as everyday with the blessing of the Lord was safe and healthy. Moreover,
my family was in contact with me and everything was going well. Thus I could walk very happy
and with much eagerness of learning. Furthermore, my first class was interesting because we
worked a lot about new vocabulary form text book and we were talking about leaders and

executives. For instance, we developed many listening activities and completed missing
statement on the text book. In addition, the instructor showed some activities on Internet based
on our text book. Whereby, we needed our password so as complete listening assessment in the
text book. All of these skills and strategies were very smart because I realized that I can do the
same in my country whereby I will need to request to the publisher companies those kinds of text
books with a code and the facilities to work on the web site. So these encompass all about
motivation as well.
Second, in my Linguistic class we were continuing with the two last presentations. One
of them was The purpose of the Motivation, and it was developed by professional fellows who
could explain very well. On one hand, something which I remember clearly was about the Input
(Listening) and Output (Speaking) in children in L2 and the comprehension based on
Understanding (Negotiated) and Communicative Competence (writing class). On the other, the
last group presented slides and talked regarding barriers on the learning and fossilization. All of
the capable presentations showed important information for us as educators.
Also the whole last week and part of this one, we were talking in classes and with
instructors about leaders, and it was a coincidence because my weekly book referred to it as well.
For example, Honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the
responsibility of urging and guiding you long in your obedience. Overwhelm them with
appreciation and love! The Purpose-Driven Life, p. 166.
Therefore, could notice when I was reading this book, I was doing regardless the religion
because I am Catholic and the book was based on Christian versions. Anyway I liked it.
Incidentally, I went to the gym with some friends and later something very important was my
volunteering for children who needed help in school homework. It was nice and relaxing.
Finally, inasmuch the day was in progress I felt very well, because the motivation and the
positive input in every class. Also, the cheer up from my family because they always pepped up
me.

Follow the rules that are very important. Today was one day more here in Las Cruces, full
of experiences and thoughts. New topics and themes teachers expounded and all of them were
well developed.
First, my great day started with my wonderful class of Reading where my wisdom
instructor introduced a new topic based on writing skills Parallelism in context. Indeed this
topic was worked with her positive explanation and extras activities which she provided to us as
always. Sincerely, it was very difficult for me at the beginning and at last; hence I could not get

the ace on the handout of Parallel Structure exercises followed of the website where a dog a
appeared with American slangs if any response was good or wrong. For instance, I willed myself
to study more in my free time.
Another issue which is important was my Methods class we started talking about Praxis,
and how it was based on theory and practice. Also she mentioned an interesting confab; it was
about some guided tour toward any public school in Las Cruces. Immediately she took my
attention because I had already sent her by an email about that for me, but she never answerd me.
We started the session four from my heavy packet of ESL/EFL Methods. But suddenly
the class was interrupted, because a classmate was fainting and thanks to God the help arrived
immediately because smart my instructor Dr. Ryan called 911. Consequently, they came in the
classroom, and everyone had to wait outdoors. Finally this affair ended when my friend Gabriela
who is from Ibarra had to be taken to the nearest hospital. I thought that it was a good decision
because she was dizzy and totally pale.
For instance, the class was cancelled because everyone was worried about our classmate
and the instructor understood that very well. Furthermore, we could not be focused on the
subject. However, I waited that everybody left the classroom, and I approached to my instructor
to communicate about my outings to different elementary schools as Dona Ana Elementary
School, Las Cruces High School and East Picacho Elementary School. At the beginning, I
thought that I was doing well, but my instructor was dissatisfied about it because she told me,
that I had to wait for my group of classmates to going. I totally disagree with her, because I was
aware of the risks such as prison, and for that reason I had got an identification for being an
observer in one of the schools. Also, I had already prepared interviews for teacher and one for
the principal. Sometimes I like to go forward and I like taking the risk of the things. At least I
understood her position and I apologized to her because I took my own decision in a hurry.
Finally, I returned home thinking about everything, but with much eagerness to work the next
day.

The positive opportunities appeared without calling them. Today I was thinking all the
day about something interesting for me. It was about a promotional film about the Center of
English Languages Programs (CELP) in which I will be part this Friday 2 nd. Also my last
Grammar instructor asked for being a part of a project as foreigner who is learning ESL. For sure
I said positive for all of them and I was very happy because I was taken into consideration by
someone.

First at all, my wonderful and academic day began with a sunny walking in the morning
so as get my breakfast. Then, I came to my Listening class, where we enjoyed the presentation of
two classmates about Me Bag. Also something interesting happened, because in the instructor
agenda that was written on board mentioned a homework whereby we will have to get some stick
card in order to write the vocabulary, with the English meaning, one example and its part of
speech. It meant one word in every card. But the interesting was I have already done that work
on my own, and up to now I have more than new one hundred words, and they always are with
me when I go to the gym, to the Library, to the restaurant, so everywhere I am checking and
practicing vocabulary. Thus, I said that to my instructor and she was very happy with me.
Therefore, today I watched an important video of Stephen Krashen based on Language
Acquisition. In the video he mentioned about the comprehensible input and literacy focused in it
is not just read and write, but it is the individual capacity to use them shaping the course. Also,
he mentioned about a Japanese boy who was learning English with him, but during the first five
months he did not speak anything in English, and suddenly because of a result of the listening
was the speaking of some words. He mentioned that motivation, self esteem and anxiety are the
conditions which the students need to engage during the new language acquisition.
In addition, my Linguistic instructor explained about Phonetic, Phonology and
Phonemes. They were very hard to understand because I had never learnt those topics. But the
instructor gave all her imagination to teach them.
After that nice information and positive moments I went to the Library toread my book
which is a challenge for me because it has more than three hundred pages. After that I went to the
gym where I could find more Go Teacher friends as Renato and Mafer who had been working
out.
In sum up, my day was fine and very academic, also I understood the topic classes very
well and I was very elated thinking about the interviews and the films for this weekend.

The planning in advance is the best way to prevent mistakes in the class. Today, as every
day it has been very useful for me, because I have learnt many new things based on education. In
addition, all the experiences acquired will work for my future career as well.
In the first place, this day was very productive because I could realize how much wrong I
had been when I was teaching in my country. I was wrong not only about strategies and
techniques, but also about daily planning. As a matter of fact, I can say that I did not know how

to plan after Methods class because she was explaining what the best way is. Another key point
was about the approaches in which we, as educators, have to focus.
At first glance they seemed easy, but when the class was taking place, all of them were
more complicated. However, it was important to realize It is not the cause but rather the effect,
and it would be better if educators implemented a logical plan of action in order to prevent all of
the things at risk.
On the other hand, as educators we have to understand something important We teach as
we learn. It signifies that we have to know more strategies and techniques because we do not
have the reason for everything. The students have their own biography, and we have to
understand how they are going to feel. For instance, there are some ways to teach based on
methods.
Personally, I was interested in Sheltered Instruction because by knowing it very well I
could develop a better Communicative Approach with my students. Likewise, I learned that this
method could provide access to the mainstream of the learners so as to promote the development
of English Language Proficiency. Equally important is the Silent Way, in which an educator can
assess in a free way the students taking in consideration the pronunciation of the learners. By the
same token, I was watching some videos about this method. For instance, I decided to sink in this
one. I remember that in Methods class I said to my instructor that I like the method, but her face
was not happy because she told me that it is an old way to teach. But I thought that I would do it
better with some different things.
In other words, I decided to combine Sheltered and Silent methods for my next major in
the Masters Program. It was something which I would be able to keep in my mind, and
something that I have to start working everyday on that.
As can be seen, I am planning now to do something positive, it means doing something
significant for my life and that is the way to plan for my students for the classes. They have to
identify how much important it is leaning with remarkable knowledge for their life and be
productive for the society.

First at all, we have to recognize how much important the life in which we are living is.
After that we can identify our goals and dreams which we are going to work on, because the
opportunities will be in front of us, and we have to protect the positive dream in our life.
Moreover, we have to be aware that during the process to get successful we will feel pain and get
hurt, but all of them can be just for a minute, maybe for one month or for a year, but the
encouragement will not have to disappear because to quit is not an option. Similarly, we have to
understand that nobody can sing like you, nobody can study like you, nobody can talk like you,
it means that we are unique in this world, and nobody can replace anyone in the same way.
We have to think that we can be the first and not the second. Of course to understand this
expression will be easy, but to get it will be difficult. Just the people who take it advantage the
time while others are sleeping are who can get the top. For instance, many times in our life we
feel fear, but we have to focus on how to discover our deepest fear because it can be part of our
life forever or decided to aside it and be a champion no matter how much time we have to spend
typing, studying, working out or loving.
We can imagine many things but just warriors are who can get the top of the dreams. We
have to keep going in an unstoppable path. We can be freed or we can be a prisoner of our fears.
But what is the secret to being successful? It is something that we have to discover in our life.
We can do many things and repeat the things one hundred of times, but you can be wrong one
hundred times as well. The result at the end will be great but we do not quit and keep going.
We have to believe in ourselves and decipher what the purposes in this world are.
Generally speaking if we can see very clearly in front of us, we will identify our strengths and
weaknesses. We have the power to create happiness. We do not have to accept mistakes in our
life, in despite those are good to understand what is going on, but they will have the positive
results.
Given these points, I can say that we can spend a lot of time looking into the darkness as
a blind, but we will never see the life in colors, in despite of people who cannot see the dreams.
As shown above, we have many things to do, and twelve months to life as we want, but we have
to decide how we can live, because there will be many opportunities and if we cannot see the
correct path, we can be blind forever.

Knowing new places makes someone more adventurous. Today I want to dedicate my
diary to the Caves in Carlsbad. It was an amazing and exciting place.
First at all, the morning was very cold; it seemed like the high-lands in my country. The
aim of this day was to know something different. Hence, I decided to wear a warm jacket and put

away cotton gloves in my backpack. However, when I went out I did not feel a lot of cold, but I
knew very well I could catch a flu with the cold wind.
Then, I went out and blessed myself for a nice day. Suddenly, I could see more Go
Teachers approaching to the bus. When I got on the bus, I had to make a line to pick my
breakfast. It was very healthy a cake, banana, apple juice and a piece of bread with cream cheese.
However sometimes I miss my Ecuadorean breakfast which include, hot chocolate or coffee,
toast bread with salty cheese, and a real juice of fruits such as strawberries, papaya, watermelon,
grapes, etc.
Also, I took pictures with some friends like Guillermo, Renato, Jessica, Marcos and
more. So I got on the bus and I could notice that the bus was full of NMSU students and
classmates as well. I sat next to my friend Marlon, and I tucked my belongings in the trunk. After
thirty minutes, the bus started and everyone was excited about the Caves. Suddenly, after two
one hour of trip two wheels blasted, and the bus had to pullover immediately. For instance, we
had to wait two hours and a half for the tires to be fixed. Inasmuch, the time was in progress,
most of us thought that we would not get to the Caves. In a nutshell, we felt disappointment, but
a van from NMSU approached us with a new tires and tools to fix the damages.
We got to the Caves, and I remember something that made me feel scared. It was when
the ranger and guide said us that we had to go down in the elevator around seventy floors. Very
brave we took the elevator and we descended and when we got to the Caves, at the first glance
was amazing, everyone started taking pictures and immediately we went thought the caves
observing different stages and shapes that the Explorer Jim White was deciphering step y step
during his journey around ninety years ago. For example, the China Theater or the Doll house,
etc. Also I could see and learn how the stalagmites and stalactites had been taking considerable
hundreds of years to meet between them.
As a conclusion, I could say that the Caves were an incredible place, because sometimes I
felt as I was in the movie of Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park. I would like to mention that in
Ecuador there are Caves as well, but the big difference is that they are very narrow and there are
enormous spiders and insects in the walls. Many things happened and new adventures to tell our
relatives, but thanks to God we returned well and healthy.

Teacher is not a noun, but it is a verb. We can think and we can say many things about
teachers. Teachers know that to be successful with students can be temporary or it can be forever.
It depends on how much significant and remarkable his or her performance was in with the
society. I said society because the community, parents, educational staff and students make this
real. Thanks to God for being a teacher, and the opportunities in which I have to pass. Teacher

can spend hours and hours standing up as well as reading something new, as some scientists do,
because the real teacher loves discovering things to teach and apply them in the educational field.
Likewise, they love teaching and it is something that a common person cannot do easily. I had
expressed these words, because today was a lucky day for me. First, I was very grateful to God
for a new day of challenges and the opportunity to see to my family via Skype while my
transition here can allow me.
Second, my reading class was very productive and professional because we were working
almost on the last draft. It meant that we had been working for three weeks on that to get a
perfect work. We got the opportunity to check our mistakes very well and share in pairs in order
to identify more ideas regarding a paragraph. Al least we got it, and the instructor gave some
instructions for the midterm exam as well.
Consequently, my Methods class was very satisfactory, because I could understand very
well at least what the difference between Strategy and Technique was. It was awesome because I
did my best effort to get the new insight. One day I watched an expression. Do not quit until
you get nothing left and I did it because it was very hard to understand when I got in my mind a
different way to think because of the last theories and wrong ideas.
Thirdly, something happened today that it changed the relationships with some of my
classmates. It was pitiful because those friends had been sharing classes with me for months. As I
mentioned before in my diary, I am tutoring children helping them with their homework, and I
took a picture with one of the kids as evidence of my transition here at NMSU. Then I posted it
on my facebook in order to see everyday what I am doing and show to my whole family as well.
For instance, some classmates thought that I am conceited person. Also nobody wanted to sit
with me in the restaurant. It was just because of the picture, but I am doing my best effort here in
my transition and I do not like to get at home after classes because I like taking my time doing
different things such as Tutoring children in their homework, being part of the International Club
of NMSU, etc. When I have the opportunity to do something, I will do it notwithstanding the
obstacles in front of me.
In a nutshell, being a teacher is magnificent even some people can understand it because
it represents the activities and the goals in people who trust in him or her.

Happiness is the result of every activity well worked. Today as every day I could develop
successfully, but this day was pretty different just for one reason. I could complete homework
with a kid and after that we were playing a math game with her.

First, my academic day started in the Gym, because every Tuesday and Thursday my
classes start at 11:00 pm. It meant that I had time to go to the weight room. Today I started a new
weight routine that I totally hate doing legs routine, but I worked out slowly, because around
two years I had not worked them and I know very well my legs are part of my body. I always
play basketball and jog and no more. Also, I consider sometimes that I should suffice. Therefore,
I began my legs routine step by step using at the beginning just twenty seven kilograms in order
to be more resistant to more weight in the round. I did four rounds of ten times. For instance, I
got pain in my thighs for quite a while, but it was normal because I worked out correctly.
Consequently, I took a shower in the pool and I prepared for the classes.
Second, I can mention that my listening class was nice and amusing because we
developed a commercial. It was funny because the creativity of my classmates was amazing. My
classmate Mayra and I developed the Smart Glasses. Those glasses could decipher unknown
factor on books and answer the English activities in the book by just wearing the Smart Glasses
you can do everything. On the other hand, I remember group of my classmates Wilmer and
Marlon in which they present and launched a new shampoo for rebellious hairs. It was amazing.
Furthermore, my Methods class was incredible and very successful because it was the
first time in which I could develop a reading activity in such a way. It was a Reading Circle, that
meant everyone was part of the lecture but there was a leader who was in charge of the activities
so as good comprehensible input for the audience. Personally I loved this activity and I was the
first leader today, hence I had already developed in advance.
Finally, my busy academic day was part of the aster school homework Club for the
children of NMSU students. Whereby, I helped to a kid who was seven years. We were doing a
Word Search and it was outstanding because she clicked with me rapidly and after the homework
we played a math game because she told that she loves math. For instance, I got a new
experience that I was excited about.
To conclude, I love teaching and it is one of the things in which I can find the happiness
in my life.

Approaches, methods, strategies and techniques are the words which an educator cannot
forget. First at all, today was very successful, because during the day I could learn many things
and the way to think about planning took a different view.
Secondly, my Reading class was very busy, because we were checking the draft of the
composition of the last class. But it was very professional because we shared with a partner our
drafts, and he or she was in charge of evaluating our work. Furthermore, we developed a smart

technique in which we had to read a sample and we had to observe if the composition had
coherence, cohesion, unity and a good development. It was very significant for us, and as a result
of that we understood totally the process of creating a correct composition.
Moreover, the second class was so positive because we could complete the umbrella with
all of the approaches, methods, strategies and techniques placing them correctly. After that, the
instructor asked for a Check-in. It meant a feedback on the difficult topics for us in order to
reinforce them. Consequently, the instructor explained very well how to plan for classes
correctly. At the beginning, it was very hard to understand because the instructor said that first
we had to recognize the Approach, secondly Methods and later Strategies and the Techniques
while we always started from techniques. But at the end, we were very enthusiastic because we
had learnt something really useful for our future classes.
As a result of all these amazing activities we started taking pictures in order to upload on
facebook or keep them as positive evidence for this exciting day.
Furthermore, I had the opportunity to be in a meeting with the International Club of
NMSU where Omed is the person in charge and responsible for all the activities. I enjoyed the
meeting a lot because I could know more about people who were from Japan, Arabia, China and
Mexico. It was a nice experience for me. In the similar way, we organized a meeting for Friday
03 to go bowling. It sounded amazing and I was very encouraged to do that. For sure, I accepted
and in the same manner I accepted the offer to be part of the International Bazaar. It will be
Saturday 05 in the downtown of Las Cruces NM.
Under those circumstances I knew very well that my time will be very busy during this
week, and for that reason I started doing my assignments in advance, although I am continuing
feeling bad sometimes with my fever and neck ache, but I have to move forward every day.
Finally, I have already mentioned many things, and sometimes it may seem irrelevant, but
I did it because they had been part of my transition here. In the final analysis of this day, I can
say how happy I feel to be here, because God chose me and I am doing my best effort as well.

A positive leader is someone who can address to a group of people correctly. Every day
we have the opportunity to overcome adversities and obstacles, but when we have to do
something for someone else, it will be difficult. Today, as every day was a nice day, thinking
positively in all of the aspects God helps those who help themselves.
First at all, my Listening class was pretty good, because we were practicing more
vocabulary about Leaders around the world, and also how a leader can change his or her mind
when the power goes up to the head. They were interesting because we could learn the pros and

cons of the power. Therefore we have to understand something The Power is knowledge or the
knowledge is power Dr. Ashey Ryan said.
Second, we made some groups and I was working with my classmate Mayra in order to
practice for fifteen minutes for a presentation about leaders and his or her strength or
weaknesses. Our presentation was in this way: Being a leader represents many qualities. First, a
capable leader is a person who guides a group of people in the effective path using important
skills such as bravery, wisdom and determination to overcome challenges. No matter the title if
the leader, but rater the style in how is in contact with the people. However, sometimes this kind
of power makes someone corrupted. It means the power of being a leader is going to the head
whereby that person takes wrong decisions and he or she does not care about people. It signifies
just him or her. Finally, being a leader represents to take decision positively to address someone
or many people correctly.
Third, my Linguistic class was so hard for me, because the instructor was expounding
something that I had never seen before unlike, the rest of my classmates. But I liked the
techniques Pic Tac Tell that the instructor developed with us so much. The day before
yesterday we had already started working on that, and today was just the feedback, but despote
that it was very difficult for me to understand. We were checking Phonemes, Allophones,
Phonotactic and more. However, the instructor said something very interesting. It was that she is
focused on how we, as teachers, can teach our students linguistics without sink in the topic,
because sometimes students can ask about the sounds or the words and their differences. For
instance, my instructor, as a good leader, did her best effort to explain.
Meanwhile, I have to be prepared for the midterm test, it will be next week, and I am
aware that I have to practice and read a lot about this, because I did not see those topics when I
was in college, and really I do not know why?
All in all, there are many ways to be a leader, but the most important thing is to know
how much talent a person can be, and how many skills a person can develop in life.

Thanks to all Go Teachers' fellows who will make possible the presentation in the
International Cultural Bazaar NMSU-2013, because they were providing me with many
wonderful and interesting things such as souvenirs, post cards, typical dresses and suits from
Ecuador, flags and handicrafts. This event will be held tomorrow Saturday morning in the Las
Cruces NM downtown.

Hello, dear readers, today as every day, I woke up full of energy and ready to gather as
much as possible for the International Bazaar here in Las Cruces, where some Go Teachers
fellows will help me in this event.
Academically my day was fine. It started with Methods class in which the instructor
introduced the three phases of teaching and learning. They are the opening, working and closing.
Also I changed my mind when Dr. Ryan told everyone that the warm up is not a strategy neither
a technique nor also it is not part of the opening. In a nutshell Activation or the opening is not a
warm up; it is just an ice- breaker.
Furthermore, there is something very interesting which my instructor mentioned. It is that
in the activation or opening there are not wrong answers, it means that the instructor just monitor
the sharing of the students taking in consideration how and what words or vocabulary there are
using. Next in the connection or working is where the topic class takes sense with the
development of the strategies and techniques. For the time being, I do not well regarding
Affirmation or closing because it will be explain in the next class.
Moreover, after class I went to pick up my blanket with some friends in Saras office. It
was very funny because we had to walk two blocks carring those blankets and many students
were looking at us. That was corny, and also we took the bus in the stop and the bus driver saw
us and smiled. It was pretty fun.
After that funny moment with my friend we were knocking on all the Go Teachers doors
in order to request the necessary things for the International Bazaar in which Omed Noori who is
the president of the International Club of students at NMSU. He is a very friendly person, and he
keeps in touch with me for the different future events.
Finally, all the activities of this day made me feel very exhausted, and I had to practice
two dances for the Bazaar. We as Ecuador will present two performances; one is from the Coast
Region and another one is from the High Land Region. Also, an Ecuadorean pasillo was
prepared El Aguacate. To sum up, we got all the typical things to display and be ready for
tomorrow.

Ecuador is my wonderful country. Hello dear readers, today was a day full of emotions
and performances. The International Bazaar at NMSU 2013 was held in Las Cruces downtown
with the participation of different countries such as Japan, China, Nepal, India, Bolivia, Brazil,
etc. Most of them displayed their different customs and their traditional music as well.

First at all, I want to write how much happy I am, because I could participate in an
international citizens event. Many Go Teacher fellows had traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico,
and others to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to appreciate many different presentations. One of
them is the Balloon Festival. It is a well known festival in United State of America. However, I
had the opportunity to be part of the International Bazaar at NMSU. It was an amazing
experience where four friends from Go Teacher group could present different handicrafts, typical
dresses of the Coast, Highland and Amazon regions. In addition, we presented three different
performances such as a dance from the Coast and Highland, and finally, my fellow Kerly Torres
delighted people with her sweet voice with a traditional Ecuadorean Pasillo called El Aguacate
in the square of the Downtown in Las Cruces NM.
I strongly believe that when we have the opportunity to represent a country in different
festivals, it is the opportunity where people can know more about our customs, religion, food,
clothes, climate, language and more. For that reason my friends Mariela, Wendy, Germania and
Kerly presented different typical dresses, provoking everyone to take a picture with them.
Also, one of the most important things that I would like to high light regards to the
support from different Go Teacher fellows who lent souvenirs, flags, handcraft, post cards and
more. All of them made possible event this. Furthermore, there were authorities such as Mona
Menking and Cornell Menking who enjoyed the event a lot .Thank you.
Finally, the presentation took around three hours. Then, the International Bazaar ended
successfully, and it was the moment to pick up and the put away the things.
It should be emphasized that people from Ecuador who live in Las Cruces supported us
morally. Moreover, in the afternoon my friends and I met with Omed Noori in order to talk about
for more activities. To conclude, I can say that I miss my country Ecuador, and there are nine
weeks left before I return home, but while I stay here, in this transition, I will enjoy different
activities as much as I can.

The Biography Driven of our students will be the most principal thing in Educator. Today
is Sunday, and, as every weekend I spend my time in the Library in order to do my assignments
and homework. Hence, I would like to share some relevant and significant statements and quotes
in which will be useful for us, as educators, when we go back to Ecuador.
The first relevant statement sets Teachers often say, No two days are ever the same,
and thats what makes education such a wonderful profession (Herrera & Hamann, 2010,
p. 85). This comment is relevant, because it is based on motivation. It means how much
motivation educators can give to the students in order to provide opportunities to think and share

in the classroom. Hence, we, as educators are looking for the success of the students taking in
consideration if he or she is CLD or native students. I am aware of the importance of the
motivation in classroom, because students receive a significant amount of information every day
and sometimes they can be stressful or easygoing, but I have to be motivated first before be in
front of them to transmit my motivation to everyone.
The second significant statement sets Your aim is to keep an open mind about the
participants in your classroom-to take what you can learn from reflecting on the
biographies of yours students and prepare to ignite and make public what CLD students
know (Herrera & Hamann, 2010, p. 76). This comment is significant for me, because it is
aimed directly at educators. We as educators, should begin with the prior knowledge of learners
because we have to know the students strengthens and weaknesses very well in order to prepare
a right lesson plan and comprehensible activities to activate of the knowledge to everyone. At the
same time we need to know about how much our students know about a specific topic, so we can
apply the connection correctly. Consequently the affirmation will be the target.
All things considered, what is happening during the process of teaching learning and the
ecology classroom. As educators we have to be prepared for all of the challenges and resistances
of the people around, as well as the diversity of our students, because they will need necessary
support and activities to be gauge in the same way as everybody. Knowing new strategies and
talents of our students will be when they can produce by their own by planned performances and
presentations. In conclusion the phases of activation, connection and affirmation are based on all
of the strategies, techniques in which we, as educators can do fin the classroom and beyond, but
looking for the successful if our students with themselves and with the society.

Activation, connection and affirmation are the wonderful phases of the teaching process.
Wonderful day today because I got a Reading quiz and I learnt a lot about the art of teaching in
Methods class.
First of all, today was magnificent; I started with Reading class where, as always, Miss
Tamara asked about how we were doing in the weekend. She is very intelligent and dynamic
because she always has different greeting activities for her students. Then, I did my first quiz of
Reading, and I am sure that I did it well. I love reading and writing as well. In addition, everyone
in the classroom had to submit the final draft with all the prior drafts before with a rubric for
evaluation. Then, we started the new unit of the text book. It was regarding what makes you want

to buy something? I can say that this topic engaged to everyone rapidly because many of my
classmates love going shopping every week and buy many things such as perfumes, clothes,
medicine, etc. In my case, I am a practical shopper because I go to buy something that I really
need. Finally, we learnt the new vocabulary for develop future activities.
Moreover, my Methods class was very productive for everyone because we sank in the
system of knowledge, it signifies Fun, Prior and Academic knowledge. Every one of them has
different meanings because the first one is based on the family, the second one in the community
and the last one in the school. Furthermore, the instructor expounded very well about Grouping
Configuration, it means i+TPSI ( i= prior knowledge and students and TPSI= total group,
partner, small group and individual). I was very happy about the new information which I could
use in my future classes.
Also, I would like to write something different, because aside from the academic
information written, today some of the fellows made unprofessional comments on facebook and
they blocked the people who were in the last festival bazaar. I am so sad, because I have lost
some good friends and it was just for jealousy of the last activities which I did it. Most of them
share the reading class with me; it means that they will do gossips behind me. I am really sad just
because they distanced and personally, I do not worry about them because I really know that they
are wrong in their thoughts. I strongly think that the use of the Internet and community websites
such as Facebook must be used in a respectful way in regards to people. They should not use
Facebook to post or write insane comment in which can affect the integrity of a person.
To conclude, my day was wonderful, despite this issue, but I really learnt a lot and I could
see how my incredible instructors develop their classes, and now I am relating their activities
with the new information gotten from Methods class. Activation, Connection and Affirmation
are amazing.

A good plan is the best strategy to get something. Personally, I would like to get many
things in my life, but I am not talking about my dreams, because one of my dreams came true
when I got this scholarship at New Mexico State University in United State of America. As
everybody I am following my dreams step by step. The next one is to travel to Japan with my
family; it means my wife and children.
Otherwise, I want to explain in details what I was doing all the night until today in the
morning. I was preparing my battle zone to study. In a nutshell, I was sticking notes everywhere
in my dorm for every subject Reading, Listening, Methods and Linguistics. Every wall has the
content of a subject. It took me all the night of the day before and I could see the sunshine today.

However, I can say that it was not easy because also I had to write again on papers and
wall papers illustrations, vocabulary, the name of strategies, techniques, theories, etc. Right now
I can see my bedroom and I feel pretty satisfied because I am ready for the midterm
examinations.
Moreover, academically my day was nice although I was very asleep because I did not
sleep last night and the early morning. But the classes had to go forward. My first class was
Listening and it was very stressful because the instructor was working on the new vocabulary
and making a review for the quiz. Every second of the class we were working, but at the end
everyone was very happy for the new insights.
After the first class, I went to the gym because today is Tuesday and my time is very tight
and Thursday as well. My work out was so hard because I completed my leg routine. As I
mentioned days before I do not like to work out my legs, but I am aware that it is part of my
body and I have to do it.
Furthermore, in my Linguistic class we were reviewing the entire theme for the quiz. It
will be this Thursday, and I have to be well prepared in order to get the top on this subject. In
addition, during the class I liked the technique that the instructor guided very much. She divided
the board in five parts and the first action was to request that everyone writes something about
the topics based on the outline that she had already sent the last time so as to check the topics for
the exam.
In conclusion, my day today was exhausting but I was happy as well. I think that I am
ready to study and practice in order to get good grades for this midterm exams. Also, I would like
to express how encouragement I feel and I will transmit to my fellows, because I want to pep up
who is not encouragement.

Dreams make people go forward every day. Every human being in the world has dreams
when she or he is born. However those dreams can take months or years, but they are the engine
to keep going and find the real happiness.
First at all, God let me to be awake this day, because there is a reason to be here on the
earth. I could bless my family very early and I prepared myself for this day. Then, after breakfast,
I went to my first class, it was a Reading class. It was so interesting starting from the activation
because the instructor made groups and she provided us a handout with an awesome pedagogical
game. This game was based on the treasure Miss Tamara said referring to the unit vocabulary. I
liked very much, and I am so sure that everyone liked as well.

After the game for Activation, the class was ready, and we started with an interesting
topic paraphrase. She gave us the necessary information based on it, and it was very useful
because we were not going to commit plagiarism. Finally, she returned our final drafts because
there were some mistakes, and she was not conforming to the results in order to enhance our
final draft. That meant the she did not have bad written.
Otherwise, my Method class was very useful because the instructor gave us feedback on
all the topics already learnt. It was amazing because she clarified all the doubts of everyone. One
of them was about The Prism Model, and another one was the Quadrants in the process of
learning. However, a very important topic took place in the feedback, and it was the U-CURVE
which is based on the feeling of the students.
Consequently, after class I got my lunch and I went directly home to take a rest of two
hours, because the day before was programmed to study and develop the outlines for Linguistics.
Immediately after the rest took a shower and I went to Kerlys unit so as prepare the environment
for the Midterm Linguistics test preparation. It was amazing and professional because when my
classmates Mariela, Wendy and Lupe came to the same house, we started to study and practice.
It was very hard because we had to review and take notes as much as possible in order to
develop the right test with the necessary information in hand. Really, we could not sleep all the
night and the early morning because there were some topics which were very complex to
develop. Finally, we got the necessary notes and immediately started making round of questions
based on all of our notes. It was very useful because we shared important information amongst
us.
Every moment in our lives has many challenges and those challenges make us achieve
our dreams. It is the result of the effort and dedication.

The fear is part of the motivation. Every day we have to overcome challenges in our life,
they can be in the job, in the college, at home, but they are part of our motivation because we
always look for doing the right things.
Good day, dear Go Teacher fellows and reader. Today has passed more than twenty six
hours without sleeping and tomorrow will be more because the midterm exam started today.
Hence, Linguistic exam was very successful, and I was very nervous and afraid as well. I think
that is normal to feel like that. Also, this exam took around three hours, but I enjoyed it a lot
because all the instructions were very professional, and it was based on theories and exercises
where I had to identify the correct phoneme for every word and how the allophones are identified
in a word. As a result of the group of studies last night I could finish my exam normally but with

a lot of stress and scared. However, I remembered two wise phrases from my father who is in
heaven Everything is difficult when you are not well prepared, and God will not help you if
you did not prepare before. Thank you, lovely father.
Moreover, my listening class was amazing and very productive for everybody, because
we developed a Quilt Vocabulary, it meant to use a wallpaper and filled with vocabulary of
different units, then write the meanings with a examples in sentence and a drawing as well.
Finally every group had to go in front and explain what we did during the process and detail the
examples, meanings and drawing with a well comprehensible input to the classmates.
After classes, I decided to go back to my unit because tomorrow will be the Methods
midterm exam and I had to study and practice all the topics we had already learnt during these
two and a half months. But, in this case, I did it alone because, as I mentioned yesterday, I
prepared my zone to plan my own studys strategy in order to feel comfortable during my study
night.
Sometimes, the dream is not a good friend, and it does not help when you have to study
for long time, but there are some methods to defeat it. One of them is to drink coffee, another can
be to take a shower with cold water, another one is to taste something sweet, or to dance for a
while to with your favorite music, etc. There are many but personally I listen to motivational
speeches for some minutes while I am stretching totally.
Well, the time to study starts and I prepare my supplies such as color pencil, tape, papers,
ruler, white out. For that reason, I have to finish this diary for today. Even though, I am scared
for tomorrow, but it is part of my motivation, and I will overcome it because I believe in myself.
Also, I will assure to study and practice very deeply during this night. Hence, I can say good bye
and see you tomorrow with the news regarding Methods midterm exam.

The satisfaction of a person is the outcome of the happiness. Methods midterm was part
of my day. It was very stressful, but at the same time it was enjoyable.
The last day of the week was today, and it ended with successful midterm quiz in the
morning. It took about three hours. I liked the way Dr. Ryan developed the exam because the
first part was in groups of four, and the second part was individual. In addition, I got a regrettable
mistake, in the last session of my test because I forgot to erase an incorrect heading Cognitive
instead of Communicative. I hope that such mistake will not affect my academic score. I could
remember well the night before when I was practicing and studying the entire sessions from the
first one to the fifth and notwithstanding that I got a mistake. But I am so happy because I knew
that I gave my best effort during the quiz.

Moreover, when I finished the midterm exam the instructor gave us a letter where she
stated very clearly the academic performance in the class. It means no use of cell phones and
tablets during the class. Also, she reminded us that we do not work different subject when we are
in Methods class. After reading the letter I could agree with her because there are some fellows
who do those things during the class. For example, when we are developing a workshop and the
instructor is observing that they are chatting on facebook, and others are listening music in their
tablets. I really think that those behaviors are terrible and unprofessional.
Finally, the midterm exam finished and I was very satisfied with my effort. Then,
immediately I went to the restaurant to have my lunch. I did not have my breakfast because I was
checking the last topic before the exam.
Then, I went to the laundry because I knew that tomorrow will be the trip to Ruidoso, city
and I wanted to wash my clothes in advance. In addition, during the time in the laundry I could
read for one hour my weekly book How to succeed with people by Steven Covey. I love this
book because it teaches how to be prepared for a hard day or future planning using the positive
attitude and patience. Also, it mentions the three activities to succeed daily; the first one is the
physical exercise, the second one is planning and the last one is the mediation scripture study and
prayer.
To sum up, this day was very clear in how to see the successful people working and how
part of them in order being successful like them as well. I want to be grateful to my Lord for this
excellent day and for giving me more energy everyday to go forward because when someone is
sleeping, I am working and when they are eating, I am working because I want to be a good
professional in my career, as an educator, despite people sometimes mocking me.

New Mexico Land of Enchantment. This was the first phrase when I arrived to Las
Cruces, New Mexico State. One of my best days during my transition here at NMSU had
happened, and I feel as a cowboy after such a great experience.
Today Saturday has been one of the most significant days in my scholarship. All Go
teachers went to Ruidoso. First, my day started very cold and immediately after woke up, I took
a shower very excited because the trip to a new destination was so close. After I got dressed and
said good bye to my family, I went to Aggies Express to meet all fellows there. It was around
7:30 am when I got the parking lot I could greet to Mr. Patrick Maestas, his wife, Yasser, Joshua,
Liliana and Omed who were distributing the breakfast boxes. Hence, I took one of them and
immediately went up to the bus in order to find more fellows.

Second, I decided to sit with a good friend Marlon and contemplate the dry landscape
from the bus window. Also, Omed, Yasser and Liliana sat behind me, and we were chatting
during the trip. For sure, more fellows joined us and the pleasant outing became amazing. We
were singing, telling jokes, and teaching Omed some Spanish words and phrases in order to learn
more about our country.
Third, our first stop was Ruidosos River. It is a park where you can sit and eat for a
while with a clear air and hearing the relaxing sound of a river. Here we had lunch and took some
pictures of the nature. So, after one hour and a half in that place, we went up to the buses again to
head over to a Symposium of Cowboys. It was a fabulous place because I could observe how a
real cowboy wears. For one moment, I thought that Chuck Norris could appear as Walker the
Texas Ranger. Furthermore, I contemplated a concert where older Cowboys were playing
acoustic guitars and harmonica. Also, I could hear typical cowboy voice which characterized the
Old West in United State of America. After that I was walking with more Go Teachers fellows
browsing handicraft and taking pictures of the different sceneries.
For sure, the best part was coming, and it was when we got to a village in Ruidoso in
order to see an incredible dramatization where the Sheriff captured two Robbers. Consequently,
after the show, the sheriff gave us the welcome speech and he invited everyone to enter the
restaurant to have dinner. It was another nice thing because the plates and cutleries seemed from
Bonanza TV series. Finally, the best part of the night came, and it was the presentation of
musical group that I do not remember the name now, but it was amazing. I could travel in the
past in my mind, and I could imagine how the life was in that age. New Mexico is really a
paradise where not just the food and people make the difference but the landscape and its
customs as well.

The brain is our core muscle of the human body. The process of learning is not just about
teachers or educators versus learners. Also, we can analyze more throughout the step of the
development thinking and how the brain works. Observation and Comparison are one of the first
steps when the curiosity and the prior knowledge influence to decide, select or gather
information. For instance, they are part of the Activation. Also, Relation, Classification and
Ordering are where the connection of the information already gathered works to separate and
distinguish what we are going to do, or think becoming in simple or complex hypothesis. Finally
Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation are the Affirmation of the steps before and here is where the
critical thinking of the people raise in order to blast a good example, idea and right answer of a
hypothesis.
It should be emphasized that, we as educators, have to know how the brain works in order to
prepare and planning strategies and techniques according their necessities and priorities. Today I

am going to point out this topic sharing a relevant phrase as following: Unless you are not
breathing, you are here today and your brain is constantly trying to make sense of the
world (Herrera, kavimandan & Homes, 2011, p. 56).
Taking into account the phrase above, we, as teachers, have to know very well how the brain
works. It means that the educator must focus on strategies where the techniques can challenge
their learners. One good example is the Dot Chart where the students have the fill the different
gates already proposed by the instructor. They also use their own background and the
information during the cooperative learning. Also, the educator with a specific rubric can gauge
the learners and distinguish their different phases of learning such as the knowledge of the
content, how they link the prior knowledge with the new input, how they express themselves
throughout class and finally confirm the meta-cognitive knowledge already acquired at the end
of the class, topic or unit. Moreover, I, as Go teacher educator will be well prepared in this
process because I can recognize the process of how the brain works (Observation, Comparison,
Relation, Classification, Ordering, Analysis, Synthesis and finally the Evaluation) and using
those I have to go forward.
In conclusion, there many things which encompass the process of learning. It is how
much time we can try to get the ace of our students. If we do not focus on the goals of our
students, we are not well motivated to do many things in the class. We have to make the
difference trying to apply many strategies as much as we can. Students do not know have to feel
frustrated when they cannot do something. We as good mediators have to guide during the
learning process insomuch they can feel satisfied about his or her remarkable job. Students do
not have to be blind in the process of learning, it signifies that we, as teachers can transfer the
success to them in every action and strategy and work their brains in order to ignite the input
throughout the development thinking steps. Students have to be concerned about how they have
to work to be successful in very technique taking the risk to make wrong answers because they
can do something else in which will be very significant and unforgettable.

The strategies and techniques are not useful when the educator does not know how to
work with them. It means that the best sword can be used just for a right knight. First at all, today
as always I woke up with blessing of the Lord, and I could see realize that just sixty seven days
are mission to go back to Ecuador.
Second, my first hour class was with Miss Tamara in Reading, and, as always, she asked
everyone How are you? I really think that it is very good to do that, but I realized that some of us
could not answer for many reasons. For example: I am sick, I am tired, and I do not know. I
think that was not polite to say those answers because we are educators and professionals and we

have to get energy wherever we can. But anyway, as the class progressed, the instructor
developed some important activities which would be very useful for the TOEFL test. The main
activities were the paraphrases with the summaries. For moment the class turned in stressful
because of boredom. Consequently, the instructor gave her best effort, because she knew clearly
that those topics might be boring for moments. Finally, nevertheless we were doing well and they
were very clear.
Third, my Methods class was very practical because Dr. Ryan asked to us for some
difficult topics to teach in the classroom. At first, I thought that she would explain, but it was
totally different. We developed Role Plays taking in consideration the three pedagogical phases
of learning Activation, Connection and Affirmation. I belonged to the Affirmation group. In
addition, we wrote down on a piece of paper two questions in order to evaluate the others groups.
Our group did an excellent job as well as the fictional teacher who was characterized by
Santiago. He developed a positive filter amongst us, and he made that the role play could be
successful, for sure the participation of us like fictional students. Something relevant was how
the affirmation took place when we developed a game where we had to order the sentences on
the board. I loved it.
To sum up, we have to know how to use our tools as educators very well, and I am not
talking about a screw driver or wrench, but our strategies and techniques which are very useful
for our students or learners in order to develop a remarkable and significant knowledge which
they will never forget because of the appropriate comprehensible input and the positive filter as
well.

The power of the willpower is bigger when we have to fulfill our duties. Today I got
fever once again, but I had to go to classes as well. It was very difficult for me. Sometimes I
wanted to cry because I could not resist the body pain. Sincerely I did not know what I got, and I
did not go to the Health Center.
First, in the morning I had to work with my good friend Mayra who shares Listening
class with me. We decided to meet in Kerlys house at 11:00 because she has a TV. The meeting
was based on preparing a movie which we had not seen before and design some Power Point
slides in order to expound the movie.
During the movie she did not realize regarding my illness because I thought that she had
not noticed about me. The movie was Glory Road, and we worked very well because first of
all, she enjoyed the movie, and we took notes during the movie in progress.

Moreover, after the movie she left the Kerlys unit and I did too as well. Nevertheless, my
deep fever I knew very well I had to eat because the day before I had not eaten anything. I met
with Wendy in the walking to the restaurant, and she noticed that my face was pale and my lips
were totally dried.
After lunch I went to my Linguistics class where I forgot that instructor had told me to
attend one hour later because I finished my midterm exam in the same day in the last class. It
meant that if someone did not finish the exam the last week during the class, they had one
additional hour to finish it the next class. Hence, I took in advance preparing my power point
slides for Thursday regarding the movie watched with Mayrita because it will be my midterm
exam.
In addition, the Linguistics instructor wrote on board two very interesting questions
which were very complicated to answer, but those were very important such as what is our
position (stand) about Fossilization and negative transfer in writing? And how do we scaffold
spelling? Really, the last one I could not answer because it was not clear for me, but I have to
check more in order to have answer on Thursday.
Finally, I went home because my health condition was not good. I went to the stop to take
the omnibus to get home immediately. When I got at home, I laid down on my bed for three
hours, and I took a pill for my infection.
As soon as I got up, I was in contact with my family, and my wife was very worried
about me, and I told her about how strong I am and with the blessing of God I was going to be
better . To sum up, I really think about the willpower of a person when he or she has to fulfill
duties every day.

Throughout a positive motivation towards the goals already proposed at the beginning of
the year educators will have to be life learners. As we know, the importance of the three phases
of teaching learning are important because we can engage and gauge the knowledge in
progress throughout the correct process of the development thinking steps as well.
Today was my Reading midterm exam, and I did my best effort although I really did not
practice enough. It was because today is my third day with fever and a terrible body pain. When I
got up in the morning, my headache was imminently hard, and I tried to get off my bed, but I
could not immediately. Then, I had to wait for ten minutes to do it. Hence, my walking at
Garcias Hall was very painful for me, but I really wanted to do my midterm exam, and it was so.
In addition, I could complete all exam successfully regardless of the last section where I
had to place the correct sentences in the different blanks using an appropriate transition word. It
took me a considerable amount of time, but I did it. Now I hope that it will be correct. For

instance, I realized that I must study the topic regarding topic sentences, controlling idea,
subtopics and their examples more in depth.
On the other hand, today started a new stage in our Go Teachers academics life; it is
because Dr. Ryan introduced us the world of strategies with the techniques for them. At the first
glance was easy for us, but it was not true because we always had been focused on techniques.
Consequently, we were divided in four groups, and every group had to write down on a wall
paper about the three phases of the teaching learning and present in front of our classmates.
After that, we did a super technique where the instructor provided us with different wall papers
with printed images of important country symbols, they meant buildings such as Eifel Tower in
Paris and the Statue of Liberty in New York, and representative symbols such as the Ecuadorian
flag with its shield.
Inasmuch the technique was in progress we noticed that writing down just description
words in every wall paper and switching the work table every two minutes the class turned in
kinesthetic and active to everyone insomuch we could enjoyed the description words of the
different groups.
After classes, I went directly to my unit in order to take a rest and feel better about my
body unease. After I had some rest, I did not want to be in bed anymore, and I went to watch a
movie in the auditorium at Corbett Center title This is the End. I could hang out with some
fellows such as Sandrita, Ernesto, Kerly, Martin, Wilmer and Milton. The movie was pretty fun,
and we enjoyed it a lot. On the whole, the motivation is part of our life.

Motivational movies give a positive energy to people. Todays presentations in the
Speaking and Listening midterm exam were very successful for everyone. First at all, I saw the
sunshine with the blessing of the Lord. Also I have been better today and I woke up full of
energy. Hence I was in contact with my family and I communicated them about my good health
day.
Immediately, I prepared my things in order to the exam presentation. In addition, I wore
my basketball Jersey and I put away my ball as well. Then I left my unit so as take my breakfast
and then went to Speech Building for taking the exam. All the presentations were incredible and
I realized something interesting, it was that motivational movies are like electricity because
during the presentations such as Glory Road and Courageous classmates and I were paying
full attention and they encourage to the rest in the presentations in order to give the best effort.
Glory Road was the film which Mayra and I worked. It was inspired by a true story in
1965 where couch Haskin went on the trail in order to find good basketball players. But the

problem was that he was hired for the Texas Western College and no one player wanted to belong
in that team because for years they had lost. Suddenly Haskin saw the talent of Bobbie Jone who
was a black, but it was not an obstacle for Haskin notwithstanding the barriers of discrimination
was surrounded in that time. Hence, he realized that black basketball players have many talents
and for instance he started recruiting seven black players and five white players. During the
game they were mocking and ridiculed for their showboating in the court, but at the end they as a
team united and they reached the National Championship 1965-1966 in NCAA becoming the
legendary Texas Western Miners.
The message from this movie was very clear, it was about no matter the obstacles in the
life to get our goals; just we have to go forward and keep going every day. In addition, during
this we have to be humbles and do not flaunt of our achievements.
Furthermore, because today the Lord heal me I spent the whole night designing a comic
where I remind to every Go Teachers fellow that we have to speak in English no matter where
we are or who we are with. When I finished the painting I closed up with my camera and I took
some pictures and during the process as well. Consequently I uploaded on Facebook the pictures,
despite of some colleagues always are mocking me because I want to do something different and
I suggest them all the time that they have to speak in English during our transition at NMSU. In
conclusion I am so proud who I am and believe hardly in the daily motivation. They can be from
music, quotes, books, movies, etc.

The friendship is very important when we are troubles. As soon as the sun rose very early
I thanked to the Lord for a new day of life and my excellent health today. First, I had to tidy my
entire dorm because I need space to draw and color the painting which I mentioned yesterday. I
had not slept in the whole night, but I am happy because I could it around 5 am and then I took a
shower and I started tiding up everything.
Second, during Methods class my good friend of mine Kerly started puking and getting
weak insomuch she almost fainted and fell. That happened after the break. Immediately, Dr.
Ryan approach her and she call to the Health Center, then she took her keys and she asked me for
help, it meant to support Kerly and carry her to Dr. Ryans vehicle. When we arrived to the
Health Center Kerly was checked by a doctor.
Third, I addressed to Saras office in order to show and give as a present my painting.
Sara and Joshua were very surprised and happy. Sara told me that she is going to hold in her
office wall forever. After that I felt elated because of her words.
Later, I went to Las Cruces downtown with another friend Rosa Vidal and we went to the
bank for some formalities; she studies n the campus and works as well. Furthermore, while I was

sitting in the bank I saw in the corner, it was a skeleton dummy sitting in a chair, hence
immediately I sat next to it so as a picture for my facebook profile. She invited me something to
drink and she asked me for a favor. It was that I take pictures during the presentation of the
Breast Cancer day, and when people are putting candles in the middle of a bag as a symbol of
love. Those bags had phrases like I miss you Rest in peace I love you.
After some pictures and sharing that great moment of peace I went to the restaurant to
enjoy a delicious glass of hot chocolate with toast bread and cheese cream. It is because currently
the season is changing and is turning cold. For instance, I sometimes feel like drinking
something hot I should be better and more comfortable as in my country when I visit highland
regions places such as Quito, Cuenca, Riobamba or Ibarra.
Continuingly, I went to the gym and after one hour of a hard work out I finally decided to
return at my unit, but before to get it I passed to see Kerly in order to know how she is about her
health. For instance, when I got her home I found some her good friends, and they had eaten the
dinner for Kerly. They had bought chicken, noodles, cheese and milk to prepare something soft
for her supper. Hence I realize the importance of a good friend when we are in troubles, they
could be an illness, economic and family problems as well.

Religion issues sometimes separate ways of thinking and for another way join people.
Today as every day has been a great day. Therefore I had the opportunity to share with some
friends who belong to different religions such as Catholic, Christian, Adventist, etc. and we were
talking how much the religion affects the friendships in our society. In addition, I mentioned
something different based on religion making a simple or complex question as educator:
How have I socialized the topic religion?
At first is very important to know and recognize what is our religion which I am going to
follow, study and trying on everyday in my life, and how will be affect in my society and
community. I realized that people decide what is wrong from right. I think and I share all the
time my own expression without religion people would not fear disobeying God. In my society
many people in order to get on the good side of God.
However up to now from ancient ages we have already had different religions, it means
that if we do not have their beliefs in society How will we learn new things, new languages,
cultures, foods, clothing, etc. . Furthermore it s a vital role in the society, by contrast when we

I have been sharing some questions in my socialization about religion but I prefer one Is
society to blame for the problems in religion? Yes, many people think about from Christianity
there are complaints about priests molesting children, and corrupt churches or I seem to align
these things directly with religion itself. I took in consideration the people who wants to hang out
down the religion and just because someone follow on it, does not mean they are perfect person,
so I am just asking for comment and thoughts about this topic. At summarize I always socialize
that religion can give a person a certain power but It is up to the person how to use that power for
good or bad.
Taking in consideration this question and the development regarding it, I think clearly
that being part of a religion is because we are part of the mankind. Also every religion believes in
a Lord in the sky; no matter when he was born or which nationality he got nevertheless some
countries believe in Jesus Christ as a messenger who came to prophets the holy words to the
world instead of the Gods son. One of my friends who is Christian brought to my mind the topic
about our death, and he said to us that the death and our funeral is just a decoration to get the
kingdom. I did know a lot about the subject already, but his words were interesting nevertheless.
In sum up, every citizen, creature or human being in this earth are sentenced to the death and we
have to be already prepare in how our religion can affect our way to life during our life in order

The honesty is the value in which make the differences among developed and
undeveloped countries. My day was very wonderful because I could observe during my day the
importance of the honesty; it means how American people respect the belongings to others.
My day started in the Sunday mass where was very wonderful to see the proceeds almost
at the end. I could see when the baskets were passing to each other in order to collect the weekly
money for the church, for instance nobody stole any bill or coin notwithstanding the basket is
uncover and no one was controlling them.
It was incredible because in my country is totally different. People control every time the
process of proceeding during the mass because unvalued people take in advance any neglect.
That one of the things which I miss this country United State of America. On the other hand
when I go to the restaurant I can leave my stuff on the table such as my back pack, sunglasses,
keys and cell phone so as pick up my food and nobody take anything, hence for me that is
admirable.
In addition, when I am in the library and I want to go to restroom I can leave my
belongings alone. In the same way when someone else leaves the stuff such as laptops and books
nobody is thinking about take the belongings of another person. I remember one day in the

library a group of the students asked if I could care their belongings for one hour because they
went to have dinner. For sure I said yes because I had already had dinner. Some students arrived
later and they sat next to the students belongings but inexplicable nobody paid attention of them
while I was so worry about them. For instance, I learnt more regarding this culture.
Personally, I have had the opportunity to find some different thing during my five months
of transition here in the restroom or in the restaurant at NMSU such as reading glasses,
sunglasses, IPods, car keys, wallets, etc, but honestly I taken them or just left in the same place
because I think that someone would come back to take their belongings. Finally, I would like to
live in this country in despite of I am from Ecuador. My country is like a paradise and the people
are so friendly, but we have a terrible problem regarding robbers a dishonest people.
Furthermore, Sicariato, contract killings, assassins and hitmen surrounding every day
in my city. For instance, for citizens is not good to walk on the streets talking on the phone or
driving a fashionable car with the mirrors down because a robber can introduce the hand rapidly
in order to steal something. In conclusion, Ecuadoreans must imitate developed countries in
order to have more tourism and live peacefully. Even though our new government is working
hard in education, health, economy and security, but the last one is something which is priority
and emergency for the well being of the country and likely in the future Ecuador might be in the
same rank of high countries such as USA and Germany or cities as Dubai and Paris.

New news always will be welcome. One day more one day less. I am taking about two
things. The first one is about my transition here in New Mexico State University and the second
one regarding my live.
Every second in our life we lose neurons, cells, flesh, etc, it is because we are human
beings and we have to die one day in the future. For instance, our life is a challenge where we
have to survive every single day and work as would be the last day, it is because we can predict
when it will be. However during our transition here in this wonderful world, we have to settle in
different situations where depend of bad and good mood. Hence they will be part of how hard we
can move or how weak we can stand. In a nutshell, I am talking about how the news can change
our daily or permanent mood and behavior and as a result of them we can treat the people
positively or negatively.
Consequently, I can mention my two Monday classes mentioning about this topic. On the
first hand, in my Reading class our instructor delivered all the midterm exams already upgraded.
But my grade was not really good for me 28.5 over 35. For instance, I felt sort of disappointed
myself, but immediately I pepped up by my own and I checked very well in which themes and
statements I failed. Luckily our adorable instructor Dr. Tamara Anastka gave us good news, it

meant bonus points if we complete honestly an evaluation about ourselves, and she reminded us
about an extra point that we got in a past game during classes. Those news made me feel better
and happy.
Another reason to feel happy because a news was in my Methods class because she
started with positive news. It was regarding our observation at Las Cruces High School for the
next week. Our instructor Dr. Ashley Ryan mentioned about the positive answer by email from
the principal Dr. Jed Hendee of that prestigious institution. Hence, the news got in emotion to
everybody in the classroom because we will the first of Go Teachers who will get that
astonishing experience for us.
In conclusion, good news makes happy to everybody and it signifies positive energy and
influence to go forward. We know that in the life are good and bad news but those bad news we
have to become in good news in order to find a solution. Something brings to my mind in this
moment that one of my bosses told me one day If the problem does not have a solution Why
you can be worry? And if the problem really has a solution Why can you be worry as well?

One minute of respect and attention might be like applauses for an artist who stands for
gratitude and professionalism. Today I would like to focus my diary to some values which many
time can determine what kind of person and personality we have. First at all, my day
academically started and finished in the right way. I could attend all my classes very healthy at
least and I went to the gym and I worked out normally.
Second, in my Listening class with Dr. Chantel who is a great instructor, but today in the
hour class some classmates who are well friends of mine as well were interrupting the process of
learning with laugh and jokes and the worst thing with murmurs among them during the last
group presentation of the midterm exam despite the instructors draw attentions. Maybe the
instructor did not feel like me in the first time, but I know very well how my classmates are.
For instance, the hour class was not such productive for me because I got angry, but I did
not do anything to change that because I did not get trouble and misunderstandings with friends.
Even thought the instructor was showing and giving some important instructions regarding
TOEFL test. It is an important online test in which gauge the stage of English and the abilities in
the four skills that we have to dominate for being an Ecuadorean English educator. Also during
the explanation of it one of the classmates suggested to the instructor it would have been better
send that information by email so as check at home, hence it was not polite for some of us
because the instructor was explaining and giving necessary tips for listening part if the TOEFL
that likely we cannot understand at home by ourselves.

Third, my Linguistics class with Dr. Leticia was very interesting because she made us to
develop a technique which we can develop at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the
scholar year as well. Furthermore, during the class and the process of that marvelous technique
some classmates were not paying the respective attention provoking discomfort for some
classmates else and me too.
In my opinion, I am sure that we are right professional, but sometimes our behaviors do
not show like that. For instance, we do like our same students laughing, making jokes, did not
paying attention in the class, interrupting and using devices as cell phones, tablets during the
hour class.
On the whole, it clear that we have to change our minds rise every day as good educators
and so the thinks correctly because we are examples for our learners in all the senses, they means
behavior, humor, respect, personal presentation, personal hygiene and care. Every day is a
challenge were we have to do many thinks, but not only stand next to a board, but be as a super
hero for our learners because they will be the future of our country Ecuador on day.

Games and role plays in the classroom are great techniques where the students can show
or demonstrate vocabulary and speaking skills. First at all I want to reveal how happy I was
today because my classes were amazing.
My first hour class was Reading where my instructor developed a nice and funny
technique. It was focused in the Collocations verbs list that she provided us the last class, and
using them we played a web game spin. Inasmuch the game was in progress we had to identify
which were the correct collocations in the eight sticky cards and every of them got a number, and
every participant got a number in order to participate writing sentences with the right collocation
and grammatical structure as well insomuch every sticky card was completed.
For instance, we could learn more about collocations and it was a challenge because there
are many of them in the list such as: pay interest, go abroad, save electricity, keep quiet, pay the
bill and so forth. Finally the instructor sent a homework, it was to study better those collocation
in order to take a pop quiz the next week based on them because we got some wrong answers in
the game and for sure the aim of the instructor is that we can dominate very well those
collocations.
My second hour class was Methods class where we had already groups in the class before
and we had to choose any experience during our transition about misunderstanding expressions
or words during an outing to the different places here in Las Cruces such as restaurants, shopping
malls, mass, etc, it was amazing because the technique was just focused in Role Plays. My group

for example was regarding when we got for first time Panda, it is a Chinese restaurant placed
in the campus at NMSU and we as students can use our ID card in order to consume the balance.
For instance, every in the group was a character likes the cashier, the doer, the cooker and more.
During our presentation the fake cashier imitated to the real Panda cashier speaking rapidly and
asking some questions which were difficult to understand for us in the first time such What
would you like to drink or Anything else for the entrance and Do you like soy sauce or sweet
sauce aside. Finally, all the performances were amazing and they were very original for
different places Best Buy, Wallmart and in the Bus station.
In conclusion, everybody finished the journey very happy because of the interesting and
funny activities developed during the whole day. Also we could observe the importance of these
activities in order to apply with our future student in the different topic. Furthermore we can
learn about them because we as teacher we empower to our students the decision in what to do,
and we will observe how the developments in their personalities are as timid, talkative, extrovert.
For instance, we can make groups for the next classes taking in considerations their strengths and
weaknesses to speak and participate in the different real situations and with the community.

The thinking of students might be influenced by positive encourage in order to cope the
challenges that the society has in order to be a excellent leader. Every educator is in charge of the
motivations during the scholar year of the pupils and students. It means he or she is the stem to
transfer the necessary energy in every technique in the classroom leaving significant information
to be useful for them and productive when they are developing in the society.
First at all, I would like to share the heading of the chapter number six of the book How
to succeed with people (Covey Steven, 1993, p. 16) where he mentions the three processes to
achieve in order to overcome our difficulties in time. They are Knowing, Choosing and Doing,
for instance of the three processes we can see our willpower of every situation taking in
consideration which are our priorities and necessities to choose any decision in our life.
Furthermore, an essential sentence which I read before in other book was A teacher
should choose strategies that help students develop the communication and thinking skills
necessary to successfully comprehend a situation and complete a task independently (Chamot &
OMalley, 1994, p. 347). This comment is essential because we as good educators for CLD
students have to know their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, a right strategy takes
awareness in how much the learners can develop in they can be gauge steadily. At the end the
overcome might be the followings: they know how to study successfully, they are ready to know
science or any subject using their own strategies and they will be ready to speak English n the
society. In my case I will apply the theories and paradigms in my curriculum well specified as in
the syllabus settled in order to develop the tasks and classroom techniques correctly.

because I could understand the importance to be perseverant in our jobs because we decided one
day to be an architect, a doctor, a nurse, a writer, a musician, a poetry, a teacher, etc, and every
job and profession implies the responsibility to defend it and care it giving the best effort. We as
educators have the challenge to be well prepared everyday to overcome many difficulties, but we
decided one day in the past to be a teacher and it means that we have to be like scientists in order
to search strategies, new techniques, methods and so forth. For instance, we will be able to
empower our students to be successful for the country, their families and their society.
In sum up, bequeaths that good educators leave in the educational institutions will decide
the future of our countries because they can weld the knowledge and the right decisions in order
to continue the well being of people. Although, there are some people who bemoan had elected
the wrong person to guide as a leader, but we were just the only responsible to do that. At the end

The rules were made to follow no matter how, what or why. Today I could understand
how important is the protection and care for students or pupils in the schools. During the class of
Methods with Dr. Ashley Ryan everybody in the classes was able to understand all the
restrictions and rules to fulfill in the observation at Las Cruces Public School.
Academically the day was good and our Methods instructor n the first hours
communicate by a contract the Code of Conduct in order to know what we must to do and
what we must not to do during our visit or observation. One of the rules is how to dress for that
day. It means formal or how when someone goes to a job interview. In addition, will not
allowable to consume nuts and wear perfume because students might get any allergic.
Furthermore, devices or gadgets will not allowed that day such as cell phones, tablets,
mp3, IPods, headphones and any drug to consume like cigarettes and cigars. Also cannot be
alone during the observation because people or educators who belong to the high school should
think badly about us. Finally, the stuff that we can carry for that day will be the followings: a
small notebook, pen or pencil, bottle of water and a hand sanitizer in order to clean our hands
and protect us of any airborne bacteria.
Finally, I could understand how important are the population especially children here in
the United State of America. For that reason when I will return to my country Ecuador the next

December 21st of this year I will prepare and plan in how we can adapt this rules in the
educational institutions in order to protect the integrity and health of the pupils and students.
Moreover, the instructor decided that the next Monday we will the main in the classroom;
it meant that we will present a demonstration class using the strategies already learnt and new
more. So, the instructor gave us the opportunity until the hours class finished to agree in groups
of four and three which topic or theme and the strategy we will apply for developing in the class.
For instance, we agreed in my groups a strategy which we had not done in class yet, but we
wanted to do a new one Thumb Challenge in order to learn more and do not use the same
strategy of the rest.
To sum up, today for me was a little bit complicated to understand about rules for enter to
a public school here in United State, despite that we did before during this transition in Go
Teacher Program. But the prevention of guns, germs and illnesses and the most important the
integrity of the children is very relevant and it is something that we as Ecuadoreans can adapt
and apply in order to protect our children who will be the future of our country Ecuador one day
in the future.

The culture and biodiversity of the people represent their maturity like a developed
country. Today was held the Homecoming Parade NMSU 2013 in the University Avenue Las
Cruces New Mexico. It was an amazing experience for me because I could understand the
differences among cultures as developed and undeveloped countries.
Today as every single day I learnt something new becoming that single day in a fabulous
day full of experiences and details which for me will be very significant for my professional
career and life. First at all my stared very early because I opened my eyes very excited around
six thirty morning, and I immediately woke up in order to take a shower and dress my traditional
Ecuadorean suit form the Coast. Consequently, when I got ready to leave I sent a message to my
family telling that I will be in the Parade in which I am part with the International Club at
NMSU.
Second, I went to Kerlys unit so as to pick her up to go to the event because she was part
with of the Ecuadoreans who represented during the Homecoming Parade. Suddenly my good
friend Omed Noori who is the president of the International Club arrived to College Village with
Yasser Al-harazi who is his assistant in order to pick us up. It was nice because in the morning
was very cold and the parking lot where the event started was so far walking.
Third, before the event when I was waiting in the parking lot with the rest of the
participant of the International Club who come from different countries around the world some

assumptions came into my mind regarding the parade. One of them was that I was thinking about
we are going to walk seriously on the streets during it, and the second one was that could be
soldiers or marching bands. But all my assumptions were wrong because after some minutes
when I arrived to the place I saw decorated cars and trucks with flowers and colorful flags. For
sure the people very excited with cheerleaders and loud music surrounding everywhere, also
many friendly NMSU students saying hello How are you amazing your traditional suit
Where are you from and so forth. I really enjoyed this event because Miss Mona Menking and
Dr. Cornell who are the principal of the International Abroad Studies were supporting us with
traditional music of every country. During the arrangement we had breakfast and took us some
pictures for memories.
Theoretically, during the process of the parade I thought that we could not stand up or do
something else, but once again I was wrong because everybody started singing, waving to the
people who were observing the parade on the street and dancing. But I was stunning for a while
because I could observe how the citizens with families were sitting on the street enjoying about
the parade. One of them having breakfast, others eating snacks, but something that everybody
was doing was giving good applauses to the participant. Immediately, I could understand what
the real difference among countries which are developed and undeveloped. It was that for
example in my country the parades are about soldiers and tanks during the National Festivals and
just few people attend to them because they would rather watch them at home instead of
appreciate them in real because of robbers and the bad behaviors of vendors and people. In
conclusion, today I learnt something new and it was how the education and a well culture can
distinguish countries around the world.

Stage fright in professionals

There are many way to be scare when we talk in public. Currently when people have to
speak in front of an audience feel scare. They might be caused for many reasons, but sometimes
it can be a problem in which there will be no solution notwithstanding the likelihoods to improve
it daily. Nowadays we have to confront many challenges as educators and be timid and feel
ashamed in front of people in order to expound an issue, topic or magisterial class will be
something common. Stage fright comes in a variety of causes as ignorance of the topic, lack of
the abilities and resources or psychological troubles.
The meantime, I would like to sink in the first cause which can provoke stage fright in
people. It is the ignorance of the topic, it means when people do not know about the content or
they are not well prepared in their speech provoking unfocus in the moment when they are
speaking and for instance the speech could be a mess during the intervention. Today in the
methods class I could observe this stage of fright because classmates did not prepared
appropriately the strategy on work in the demonstration class.
Another way to get stage fright is the lack of the abilities to speak, it means that people
need to know some manners, movements, mimics and voice tones in order to cause a good
impression and catch the attention of the audience. Those are not really easy but nobody is born
knowing about these abilities and skills because all the people have talent to speak nevertheless
the skills and abilities are getting during hours and hours of training. We as educators we have to
practice a lot those skills because every day we have to be in front of our students and sometimes
front of parents who need to see how we are and how we develop ourselves. Many teachers who
I know develop those skills fabulously like my Reading instructor Miss Tamara who in every
class first at all knows very well her subject and what she is doing with correct voice tone,
mimics, knowledge and so forth.
Finally, the physiological troubles is something that is not usual to see, but sometimes the
stage bright is the result of something which had happened before and that person felt bashful or
parents and teacher did not support activities where he or she can speak in public or in front of an
audience. Besides could be a bad last experience where friends or fellow mocked to him or her
once. I remind that one day in the high school I was giving an English lesson orally and I got
some mistakes in the pronunciation and some classmates were mocking about me. For instance,
in the next lesson I could not give my spelling lesson again, but my father who is in the heaven
suggested me one day telling me that I have to overcome those problems and give my best effort
not matter if someone say to me something bad. At the end I continued every day doing my best
and if I got a mistake immediately resolved.

Strategies for students who want to take the TOEFL test
There are many strategies in order to be well prepared for TOEFL test. Actually if
someone wants to be part of the foreigners educational institutions where speak English language
is necessary to obtain an international certificate which endorses the proficiency of English in
order to study in any North America institution such as college or universities. Trainings based
on strategies to get a required score of it are divided in four abilities very well known: Reading,
Listening, Speaking and Writing.
The first skill that students need to prepare is Reading. This skill is based in how much
information we can retain, understand and assimilate form texts in which there are questions
regarding the information in use, but we have to know that tricks are important such as read the
questions before to read the paragraph in order to find the answers easier. In addition, students
have to be aware in how well prepared are in that moment, it means if they have been reading
constantly books and getting new vocabulary before because this skill just can be develop if
students read minimum two hours daily.
The second skill is Listening, and it will be a difficult session for students who are not in
the English environment because during this session the people who interact in the test have
native pronunciation. For instance, students must to prepare themselves applying online videos
and be permanently listening speeches, songs, dialogues, conversations. Students can use their
cell phones, IPods, tablets, portable radios or mp3s. Moreover is very important to create and
English environment if students do not live in a spoken English country.
Another skill is the Speaking, and it might be the most difficult part of the test because if
students do not share daily with English speakers will be hard to transfer information according
to the prompts requested. But at home or in daily routines students must to practice minimum
during five or six months around four hours in order to enhance the ability to think in English
mixing words and sentences correctly. Besides prepare an scenery wherever students want with a
mirror and use a recorder so as record their mistakes and improve them.

Finally the Writing session is about essays well structured. One suggestion can be that
students should write stories, compositions, paragraphs and short essays following the correct
sequence such as thesis statement, topic sentences, subtopics, details, and a good conclusion.
Furthermore there are many web sites where students can find transitions and conjunctions for
essays. They should be very useful in the moment to practice every day being aware that students
have just thirty minutes to complete the essay in the test.
On the whole, students who want to be part of an international education must to prepare
in advance and not just think that a test like TOEFL can be easy because a person speak English.
In a nutshell TOEFL test is how well you can develop in a real academic classroom answering
questions, supporting ideas and giving your points of views with comprehensible information.
For that reason, students must to prepare well no matter the environment that they live, but how
they change their mind in order to get a good score in the Test of English as a Foreign Language.

The well develop of the three phases of teaching learning process.

Actually, the process of teaching learning has been enhancing during these ten years on to
be continuing. Educators are improving the way of teaching following the best path in order to
see and discover new talents and develop the best of the students based on the development
thinking levels. For instance, the teaching-learning process takes face when the teachers are
aware in the three different phases of learning such as Activation, Connection and the
Affirmation.
First at all, the intro of the class is based in how much the students know regarding the
new topic. It is called Activation, and this phase pushes to the students and thinks and reminds
something about the new topic and let them to share what they know with each other and learnt
new insights. While this is happening the teacher or instructor monitor the around the classroom
quietly.
Second, thereupon teachers or instructors move to the phase where students can develop a
technique in order to link their ideas with the real concepts. As a result, students are able to
develop the techniques based on a specific strategy from the teacher to get good outcomes during
the last part of this phase, it means the sharing. Cooperative learning is a good strategy when into
the classroom there are many students and we have to shrink questions and answers.
Third, the next step is the where the students can show what they learn during the two last
phases and they can present in front of the class any technique well developed with specific
answers according to the topics class. At the end of this phase is good that the teacher or

Observation Class at Arrowhead Park Early High School
To be Go Teacher makes me feel proud. Today as every wonderful day in this transition
I have learnt something new. Thus the Observation class at Arrowhead Park Early High School
in Las Cruces NM was a grateful experience and a great opportunity to see how well the class is
developed in a single day of class. Nowadays exist many ways to teach and apply strategies in
order to reap the knowledge of the students such as oral presentations based on fictional stories ,
cooperative learning applying T-chart, Scavenger Hunt game and so forth.
First at all, I got up very happy and immediately I woke up to take a shower and dress my
formal suit in order to follow the rules already proposed from Dr. Ryan. For instance, I felt very
excited to know that I will be inside of high school where students have the facilities to use
technology everywhere. Meanwhile I took my notebook and pen and I addressed to the Aggies
Express so as meet the rest of my Go Teachers fellows there. Then after the registration and the
breakfast we went to the days target. Consequently, we arrived to the high school and the
principal immediately guide us to a room where she gave us the welcome with some students of
the same institution. They presented by Power point slides how the institution is organized and
the curriculum as well. After that we were separately in group in order to go to the classrooms.
Likewise, the instructors were very friendly and they gave us the chance to interact in the
class with the students asking questions or just participating like another student. It was really
amazing because I could realize that the class is based on how the students develop the class
following the instructions that the instructor gave in the opening and the activations.
On one hand, in English class for seniors students were able to play a game named
scavenger hunt, it signified that they have to find wherever they want such as book or internet
information already proposed by the instructor such and they have a limit time to fulfill the
technique. In the another hand in Science class the students were able to tell stories regarding
stars and constellations or show a song where they had sung and prepared at home using the
vocabulary and concepts about stars and constellations as well. Furthermore after every

presentation the students who were respectful during the presentation asked questions or made
positive comment about the performance as for example: Why did you decide to study that star
or I liked your presentation or song, Congratulation etc.
Finally, the instructor gave a positive feedback and she asked two important questions
such as What will you change for the next presentation and Do you feel proud with your
performance. For instance, I could realize what the role of a teacher is and Sarita McCormick
who was sitting next to me were witnesses of that and we asked to some students different
questions as well.
On the whole, this day was very profitable for me mentally, because I could see how the
activation, connection and the affirmation are well developed in the classroom. For instance, I
took enough necessary notes in order to apply the same and better strategies when I will return to
my country for continuing with my successful career of being a Ecuadorean Teacher.

Employees clothing and their talents in the world of business.
There are many ways to show a positive and good impression when you are looking a job
or working regularly. Actually, some business companies are worry about how well their
employees are dressing, but others are interested in how well their employees feel during the
journey, talents and efficient as well. Nowadays, sets of norms employees have to follow in order
to show a great appearance to costumers, clients, following rules or just to feel comfortable. For
instance, there are three main points to highlight such as negative effect to clients, casual dress is
becoming a norm and fashion trends are changing.
In the first glace, negative effect seem odd in clients, but sometimes is true, because there
are clients and customers who would like to appreciate the dressing of the employees when the
environment might be sport, entertainment, or fashion. It means that the appearance is very
important in order to show what the company is about. Clients want to see a real demonstration
when they want to get something and for sure employees can demonstrate their talents and they
feel proud themselves during the labor journey as well.
Therefore, talents and organizational skills are based on the capacities of the employees.
It should emphasize that the respectful in the clothing presentation is very important because
they have to follow norm according to the company where they work daily. Also, when they are
comfortable is theirs clothing employees have a better development in their duties. It is important

to highlight that employees have to create a bridge between them and clients to know the
distinction about issues of the company.
However, when in companies are young people like employees the fashion trends lead
everywhere because they know very well how fast trends are taking places? Thus, be sloppy is
not something that they can be, but certain rules compel them to use casual dressing while they
can adapt the fashion trends in the same clothes. No matter if they are executives or desktops
employees, it is about how the appearance can change the mind of the clients in the field of
business.
In sum up, it is important to recognize what kind of job employees are going to develop,
because owners have to give the opportunity to make feel their employees in the different
business areas in order to avoid negative effect with clients, and to realize what really are their
capacities following norms and finally giving facilities to use fashion trends who need to be in
face daily so as get some business purpose. If we are aware about these points of view, it will be
sure that employees can develop better every day.
November 2-3, 2013
A good trip might show positive values among friends.
Nowadays, be part of trip with a group of friends will be a good memory for all of the
life. Albuquerque was the last destination of the last Go Teacher transition. Likewise the
relationship among colleagues and friends is crucial because they can share and take care
themselves. For instance, values appear such as honesty, camaraderie, and patient and they will
be able to enjoy any trip.
To begin, Albuquerque was the destination of the last trip of Go Teacher Program. The
departure was in Saturday afternoon after the check in and the registration of every Go Teacher
fellow. It should be emphasized that the honesty during the row to take our lunch and viaticum in
order to feed ourselves the next day nobody disrupt the row or steal money to some who was
absent that day.
Otherwise, the sharing and the good communication among friend is called camaraderie,
and it is when the good relation rise with jokes, stories, songs, dancing and so forth are part of
the well environment during the trip. It was a great chance to hang out with someone who did not
do before. Furthermore, when we arrive to Albuquerque city we addressed immediately to a
disco to dance, drink and sing. It meant another good moment to enjoy more with friends.

Afterward, in our accommodations in the Hotel in Albuquerque is where the patient

highlights because sometimes the rooms do not have two beds and just one bathroom. For
instance, people have to share with another roommate everything. This was good point because
in this transition there were some troubles among colleagues and that moment was very core so
as keep patient. The next day everybody went to the Zoo and it was a wonderful place where
there were animals which I have never seen before such as White Rhinos, Zebras, Polar bears,
sea lions, etc. For instance, fellows were taking pictures everywhere and sharing patiently the
time to observe every animal in the different stages.
In conclusion, trips sometimes are not like we hope, but the purpose of every well
organized program for professional people is to engage values and enjoy as much as people can
in the right way following rules and positives friendly values. They will be very important to
illustrate for the next Go Teachers generations.

My Hometown is Something Special
There are many interesting and enjoyable places in Guayaquil. With approximately 3.81
million people. Officially Santiago de Guayaquil, it is located on the Western Bank of the
Guayas River. The climate is very hot and humid, thus people can use soft clothes. During these
13 years the city has undergone a great change, for instance now you can find great parks,
shopping malls, bus transfers, and green areas for example: The Malecon 2000, Las Peas, Mall
del Sol, Mall del Sur, San Marino, City Mall, Kennedy Park, and coming soon in the year 2014
Samanes Park which will be located in the north of the city becoming the biggest in Latin
America.
However, How can you get these outstanding places with your family, relatives, friends,
or alone? I f you are driving a car, you have to blow the horn many times, because there are
aggressive drivers on the streets, it means that you have to be always on the offensive. In
contrast, you can go by bus everywhere or use the Metrovia system, the ticket is just for $ 0.25
per route, and no matter if you are confusing, because locals will help you to get where you want
to go. Although, if you are at La Terminal, it is the Guayaquil bus station, where there
connections to destination inside and outside of the city, so it is well organized, but a wise
recommendation Keep a close eye on your belongings. Another wonderful and natural place is
the Historical Park, where the recreation is related to the 20 th centuries, green areas and fresh
air, delicious gastronomy and a widespread zoo with exotic birds and variety of wild animals as
the Tucan, Guacamayo, Panther, Eg Ocelot and more. Also The Malecon 2000, which is a big
place with a nice environment, and you can make a trip by ship El Morgan and observe part of
the city form the ship, it would be a romantic experience too. By the way you can visit the
Shopping Malls, because you can buy everything, enjoy movies in the cinema, taste typical

dishes, hanging out with friends, connect on wireless. But in the night you have to go to the
Pink Zone, it is the place for dancing and drinking different kinds of beverages with alcohol in
the discos.
Whereas all of these place are very popular and interesting for people who live in the city
and tourists who want to have a remarkable and unforgettable experience with family, relatives,
friends or alone visit and do many activities.
In summary, Guayaquil is a marvelous city, which offer many awesome attractions, where you
can enjoy and spend the time whoever you want, but you have to take the necessary precautions
with the robbers, but if you follow the rules that I have already mentioned before, I am sure that
you are going to enjoy a lot your time. Dont miss it, visit us soon.

Health Problems caused by Litter in the West Coast of Ecuador.
The protection of the environment has been an issue during fifty year approximately.
Even if, actually it seems trite for people who forget the importance to keep the coastal waters
clean. Ecuador is a country which is situated in the west coast of South America, and it presents
some environmental issues because of the Litters in the Ocean causing some health incidents
which effects to the population and tourism as well such as stomach infection, spots in children
skin and eyes infections.
First at all, Ecuadorean industrials and manufacturing sewages in the ocean can cause
stomach infections called gastro-enteritis. Only if people exposure with contaminated water
orally, can they get liver infection well known as hepatitis. Currently, people are not aware about
these illnesses, but the government can work in projects to solve those health problems with the
creation of programs like Respect the Ocean. Also, as long as with the collectively support of
international collaboration in the investment of equipments, it can clean the coast.
Second, litters which people dispose of the beaches are dispersed to all the Ecuadorean
coastal because of the natural motions and winds provoking spots in the skin in children and
rashes in the whole body. Majors might work with the support of important banks in cities with
campaigns providing information and advertisements using television, radio, newspapers, rural
and urban transportation. Also, they can give certifications and facilities to get a loan if that
person is part of the campaigns.

Third, there are from human sewages such as urine and feces in which people cause eyes
infections when swimmers are in direct contact with bacteria in recreational waters. No matter if
they are kids or adults. When the neglecting of people is peaking every day, it is worst. Hence,
concentrated colleges student can illustrate to the community on the streets delivering positive
messages like Save our Ecuadorean coastal in banners, flags, caps, t-shirts, rubbers bracelet,
lanyards and so forth.
On the whole, the environmental issues in Ecuador are for every citizen. Unless, they are
responsible to care our natural resources, anything will not improve. The support of international
companies, students help, and government support is important to tackle the health problems
caused by Litter in the Ocean such as stomach infections, spots in children skin and eyes
infections. All of these serve to make norms which make a better country ready for the tourism
and a healthy place for residents.

Tenets of Comprehensible Input in the World of Education.
Currently, the communication between educators and learners during the process of the
second language acquisition has to be clear and comprehensible, because the information both
the educators and the learners must to successfully. In a nutshell, based on the Tenets of
Comprehensible Input I can mention three important principles such as Hands-on, Visuals and
Cooperative Learning.
To begin with this information, hands-on is focused in all the techniques that the learner
the can manipulate by hand using specific resources or materials, it means drawing, painting,
matching, writing, cutting and so forth. In this tenet conducts i+1 (Krashen S., 1987) they mean
the previous knowledge plus the new knowledge during the process of learning. For instance, it
promotes the language engaging and involving learners in the social development of the
language.
Meanwhile, techniques in which the learners have to observe visually and appreciate
something in order to produce an output are focused on Visuals. They are all related with
flashcards, imges, pictures where the instructors based on tasks can show to the learners in the
class. As a result, learners work one of the multiple intelligences. In essence, this principle is
very common in the classroom because is easier to work with the students using visual resources,
despite of the images sometimes are not clear for them, but they enjoy this way.

The meantime, working in groups in another technique focused on the principle of

Cooperative Learning. Hence, they can ask to their partners when someone of the group does not
have clearly the insight of the technique. For instance, the famous filters and barriers in learners
could disappear steadily. Nowadays, when there are a big amount of students in a classroom this
principle is really useful and very productive for students who are in the process of learning. It
should be emphasized that the role of the teacher s absolutely important because he or she have
to monitor while the technique is in progress.
In the final analysis, teachers and instructors have to be aware regarding tenets of the
comprehensible input such as Hands-on, Visuals and Cooperative Learning in order to develop
correctly the process of teaching learning successfully. Also the voices speed and the intonation
is something additional that we can work with students. On the whole, to be ready for any daily
situation will serve for the well development of the country.

The Schemata of the Approaches in the Process of Plannings.
In education the words methods, strategies and techniques are very commonly, but those
concepts are divided in three well organized approaches which guide the process on learning no
matter the subject of the topic in class. All of them are smartly developed to following guidelines
in how the strategies and techniques must be developed correctly. The three important
approaches are Grammatical, Communicative and Cognitive
In the first place, everything based on stimulus response and behaviorist is called
Grammatical Approach. It is one of the foundations which are the head to build the rest of the
actions such as methods, strategies and techniques. Methods are the next step of the approaches
because is the framework of teaching in order to determine the correct. They could Grammar,
Translation, Audio-Lingual and Direct Method, and consequently go the big idea which is the
strategies for example: drills and filling the blank, and finally the guidelines end with techniques
such as dialogues, repetition and memorization.
Afterward, concepts related in experiences and when the students are constructing their
knowledge in real situations in the language classroom. It is named Communicative Approach.
This is another foundation which leads actions focused in methods, strategies and techniques as
well. The first one develops some methods such as shelter Instruction, Natural way, Silent way,
Suggestopedia and Integrated Content Based ESL. For instance, inasmuch the method is chosen
the strategies come up for example: Hands-on, Cooperative Learning, Guard Vocabulary and
Visuals. With this in mind the students can reap the knowledge applying techniques such as
Small groups, Writing, Realia, Drawing, Pictures, etc.

Finally, the third foundation which works specifically in the learning, but it is focused in
how the students using the brain to work just mentally. It is called Cognitive Approach, and it
outbreaks the CALLA Methods with is focused in academic techniques for high levels of
knowledge. As a result of this is opened some strategies like Scaffolding, Learning Strategy,
Cooperative learning, Critical thinking, etc. Hence, the techniques which the learners should
develop such as KWL chart small group, conversation, writing and more.
In summary, approaches like foundations are the same, and they are the first path so as
follow the process of planning to prepare a right lesson plan and its be developed in the class
with the students with the support and monitoring of the instructors. All of them were created
with the purpose of create a correct via in order to follow positive guidelines to gauge outputs
and enhance inputs.

I would like to express many things in this part, but just I am going to highlight three
important issues, which have pros and cons regarding scholars behave in this transition. As you
know to get a scholarship in a foreign country represents some issues in our life such as
adaptation to the environment, food, weather, people, languages, accents, schedules, technologies
and so forth. Nowadays, developed countries open the door to some licentiousness and we have
to be aware how much time we take for every routines and hobbies. For instance, online social
networks, invest of money and English language are the issues for this letter.
On the first hand, are the online social network services in which let being in contact with
our relatives, friends and dates. Consequently, this can cause a disturb in the process of the
learning because sometimes scholars spend many time during the day in social networks causing
a waste of time, and it should be better to take in advantage that time doing something
academically better as reading an interesting book, practicing online English exercises, writing
compositions and so forth. Furthermore, it is not just about academic, but rather when scholars
are hanging out because while someone is chatting with another one is looking at cell phone or
any device, for instance, it is not polite when people are hanging out. As a result of that they
seem that the scholarship is about online social networks instead of fulfilling the real purpose of
this.
On the second hand, to study in a city represents many good sales according to the
seasons, but is a good idea to take in advantage and save money so as get the opportunities at the
end of every season, because the clearance sections and sales stations will be in abundance. I
think the best way to invest the money is looking for of the best prices and good brands as well.
Money can fly easily and it will not return again. Also, technology in USA is very profitable and
people like buying when there are discounts and special days like Black Friday. For instance, a
scholarship takes many months and sometimes years, thus people have to spend wisely the
money.
Finally, friends are very important, but should be better if scholars get friends who speak
the English in order to practice the listening skill and learn new useful vocabulary. Sometimes,
your own friends can mock you because you spend most of the time in the English spoken, but at
the end you will have enhanced by your own efforts. Remember, a good friend is someone who
support you and not criticize you.
In the brief, every transition carries some adaptations and scholars have to take in
advantage as much as they can. Inasmuch the time is in progress you will see the improvements
and the real colleagues a friends who have supported with respectful and honesty. No matter, the
nationality, culture, culture, religion, disability and sexual orientation. All of them have to respect
you and be respected as well.

Because they are sure to run with you more than a yard,
dont get derailed while others are dead.
No matter if you are thinking about SUP and CUP
just tell who you are.
In order to distinguish your knowledge with a close-up,
hence your talents can go so far.
Teachers please dont go forward if I havent engaged
because the key is to reap what I have learnt
I really like to write more than a front-page.
I wont be able to be free-hand

and it's always wise to practice.
When my understandings run songful,
