Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Saviour. I hope this
letter finds all of you well and v^orking for the Lord. The children are back in school after a nice long vacati.on. Thanks to all of you Christmas was really a nice one. On the 13th of December Kathy and I made a trip to the border to bring back packages that had been sent. To our surprise, there was much more than we could possibally bring back. The most impor tant things were the wrapped Christmas gifts. We loaded the van as full as we could, and started back. At the border, tijey. said they would let us inbutwe probably wouldn't get past the first check point. The check poin: is located 22 kilometers past the border and is noted for being hard to get through. Katliy and I prayed for 22 kilometers. We pulled into the check point, they looked at our papers arid waved us on. They didn't
even look in the van,
The Lord literally closed their eyes.
We arrived back in San Luis with a load from Santa Claus,
Santa
is not as popular here as in the states so the children know
their gifts came from Christian brethren in the States. Thank you very much to each one who had a part in making this Christ-
mas a Merry one.
Miguel started therapy classes around the second week of
November, He is receiving shock treatments and massages in his legs. We can really see progress, he is actually taking steps while holding on to someone. It's an accomplishment for him. Praise the Lord for the miracle which has taken place with Miguel. Miguel is blind and was dying of malnutrition two years ago. As you can tell he is behind for a four year old,
but he has come such a long way.
Please remember him in your
prayers,
Pat is back after her leave of two monthsin the states.
Kathy has also returned, after spending Christmas with her
family in Virginia.
We thank the Lord for their safe journey.
So far we have not had a yery cold winter.
It's fairly cool at night but by midday if is actually hot. Around Christmas a few of the children had ctolds but nothing serious. At
this time all are well.
Thank you so much for your prayers,
they are being answered.
I hope that each and ever>' one of you had a very Merry Christmas and continue to have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I I!!!! When we think back about the year that has now come and gone. And about all the many blessings the Lord has sent our way throughout 1977. We can: t^uthfully say it was a vejT year here at Casa de Ninos, the Lord blessed us with CTEoul^e^^
(which we thank-him for every ^ay). V/e also have our
and ninelL&eji loveiy^jcMldren; wh ich are a blessing in themselves The girB'atest blessing oF~ari is friends like all of you , who through God have made Casa de h inos possible.
We thank you
with all our hearts and know tjie Lord will bless you! I leave )ip\i with this thought;
When things go wrong a^ life takes on
A disappointing trend
I do not sigh Or weep, but I
Remember you, my frien<^s.
I keep my courage and ipy faith Because i know that Yop
Have shown me how the gravest sky
Can turn to one of blue.
Your smile has ^lustr^ted that
This world is not in vain, And confidence is all i need
