There was a time when a learner of


English had to rely almost solely on what
went on within those walls. A really
motivated learner might have been able
to listen to the BBC World Service, see a
film in English and, if they could afford it,
buy an English newspaper or book, but
the teachers role in the students
language learning was key they were
the fount of all knowledge, the model for
the language, the one true source. The

INSTRUCTIONS:

2.By 30 March: Find the slide with your name at the top, and add the
image of your avatar (to do this, click on the icon which looks like a
picture - "Add image"). Your work is automatically saved, so if you can see
it, it's done!
3.By 5 April:
A. Choose a partner's avatar to work with. On the slide where their avatar
appears, write your name at the bottom (eg: if Pedro chooses to
comment on Lucio's avatar, he should write "Pedro" at the bottom on
slide #2).TIP: to add text click on the icon which looks like a T
("Text-box").
B. B. Go tohttps://clyp.it/.Record or upload a message commenting on a
partner's avatar. Compare and contrast physical appearance and
personality in real life and online. Use expressions studied in this unit.
Talk for aboutone minute.
C. Clyp will give you a link to your audio file. Go to the slide where you can
see your partner's avatar, and paste this link (as text) just above your
name.

By8 April: Listen to the comment left by your partner. Add two to five
sentences in response to what they said. Be polite, and make sure to sign
your reply.
