Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and
his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is
flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go
well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and
how much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and
my soul.
Jesus was born into the family of Abraham so He inherited all the
promises God had made to the Jews.
Gen. 22:18, In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed
because you have obeyed My voice.
All of this is true because Abraham was willing to offer his son, Isaac,
to God. Through Abrahams willing obedience, the pattern was set for
God to send His own Son, Jesus, who fulfilled the Law and passed along
the family promises to all who believe on Him. Under the Old Covenant
which we read about in the Old Testament of the Bible, Gods incredible
promises came with some pretty hard rules for the Jewish people. His
covenant with the Jews was that if they broke the Law they would be
punished, but if they kept the Law they would be blessed. So, just as the
Jews were the only people who had Gods laws to obey they were also
the ones with the promises to look forward to.
To the Jewish people the promises given to their grandfather, Abraham,
were like family treasures. Gods covenant with Abraham was their
promise along with the laws and punishment for disobeying. Not one
of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel
failed; all came to pass. Because God never breaks His promises, the
Messiah (Jesus) finally came and brought a new and better covenant by
having His own body cut and broken for us. As believers in Jesus Christ
we inherit all the promises of God to the Jews.
