Ozone Depleting substance


1. Subject to the provision of reg.3, any
deliberate emission of ozone depleting
substance shall be prohibitted
2. New instalation contain ozone
depleting substance shall be
prohibitted to all ship, except that new
instalation containing HCFCs
(hydrochlorofluorocarbons)

NOx
This regulation shall apply to:
(i) Each diesel engine with power output more
than 130 kw which is installed on a ship
constructed on or after 1 january 2000
(ii) Each diesel engine with power output more
than 130 kw which undergoes major
conversion on or after 1 january 2000

NOx
This regulation shall not apply to:
(i) Emergency diesel engine,
engine engine installed
in lifeboats and any device or equipment
itended to be used solely in case of
emergency
(ii) Engine installed on ship solely engage in
voyages within water subject to sovereignty
or jurisdiction of the state the flag of which
the ship entitled to fly, provided that such
engines are subject to an aternative NOx
control measure established by the admin

Limitation
(i) 17 g/kW h, n < 130 rpm
(ii) 45 x n-0.2 g/kW, 130 = n < 2000 rpm
(iii) 9.8 g/kW, n >= 2000 rpm
N = crankshaf revolution (rated engine
speed)

SOx
General Requirement:
The sulphur content of any fuel oil used
on board ship shall not exceed 4,5 %
m/m

SOx
Requirement within SOx emission control
areas:
. SOx emision control area shall
include:
(a) The baltic sea area as defined in reg.
10(1)(b) of annex I
(b) Any other sea area, including port area
designated by IMO

SOx within emision control area


The sulphur content of fuel oil used on board
control area does not exceed 1,5% m/m
An exhaust gas cleaning, ,applied to
reduce the total emission of Sulphur oxides
from ship, including both auxiliary and main
propulsion engine, to 6 g SOx/kW or less
calculated as the total weight of SOx emision

Shipboard incineration

Each ship incinerator installed on or after 1 January


2000 shall be tested accordance appendix IV to this
annex
Shipboard incineration of the following substances
shall be prohibitted:

Annex I, II and III cargo residues of the present convetion


and related contaminated packing material
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB)
Garbage as defined in Annex V containing more than
traces of heavy metal
Refine petroleum products containng halogen compounds.
