Fundamental Beliefs Of ISLAM
The fundamental beleifs of islam
are as follows:
1. Aqeedah of tawheed. (oneness of Allah)
2. Aqeedae Risalat .
(Prophethood)
3. Aqeedae Akhirat .(Day of
judgement)

AQEEDAH OF TAWHEED(Oneness Of ALLAH)

Tawhid means the oneness of Allah. It is the main part of Iman (Faith) and is
beautifully expressed in Suratul-Ikhlas in the Quran:
Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah is Eternal and Absolute. None is born of Him,
nor is He born. And there is none like Him. (Surah 112)
Tawhid is the most important Islamic belief. It implies that everything on this
earth is created by Allah, Who is also the Sustainer of the universe and the
Sole Source of its Guidance.
Tawhid is the belief in Allah with all His powers. Allah is All-knowing, All-wise
and All-powerful. He is the merciful and the kind. He is with us all the time.
He sees us, but we do not see Him. He is, was and always will be. He is the
First and the Last. He has no partner or son. He gives us life and takes it
away. We must return to him after death.
Actualizations of Tawhid means purifying it from stains of Shirk innovations and sins.
Allah says in surath An-Nisa:

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but
He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills.

Allah has created mankind and the Jinn so that they should worship Him
alone, which is the essence of Tawheed. Allah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should
worship Me (Alone). [Al Quran 51:56]
Allah has sent Prophets and Messengers and revealed Divine Scriptures
upon them to call people from the ignorance of false beliefs to the truth
of Tawheed. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a
Messenger (proclaiming): Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep
away from) Tght (all false deities, i.e. do not worship anything besides
Allah). [Al Quran 16:36]
Regarding the revelation of Divine Scriptures, Allah says (interpretation
of the meaning):
He (Allah) sends down the angels with the Rh (Revelation) of His
Command to whom of His slaves He wills (saying): Warn mankind
that L ilha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so fear
Me (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds). [Al Quran 16:2]

Tauheed In the light of Sunnah :

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
When the Prophet ( )sent Muadh to Yemen, he said to him, "You are going to a nation from the
people of the Scripture, so let the first thing to which you will invite them, be the Tauhid of
Allah. If they learn that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them, five prayers to be offered in
one day and one night. And if they pray, tell them that

Zakat but avoid the best property of the people."

Narrated Mu`adh bin Jabal:

The Prophet ( )said, "O Mu`adh! Do you know what Allah's Right upon His slaves is?" I said,
"Allah and His Apostle know best." The Prophet ( )said, "To worship Him (Allah) Alone and

to join none in worship with Him (Allah). Do you know what their right upon Him is?" I replied,
"Allah and His Apostle know best." The Prophet ( )said, "Not to punish them
(if they do so).

Signaificance in Human Society:

A believer in this Kalimah can never be narrow in outlook. He believes in a God Who is the
Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Master of the East and the West and Sustainer of the
entire universe. After this belief he does not regard anything in the world as a stranger to himself.
He looks on everything in the universe as belonging to the same Lord he himself belongs to.
This belief produces in man the highest degree of self-respect and self esteem. The believer
knows that Allah alone is the Possessor of all power, and that none besides Him can benefit or
harm a person, or provide for his needs, or give and take away life or wield authority or
influence. This conviction makes him indifferent to, and independent and fearless of, all powers
other than those of God. This attitude of mind cannot be produced by any other belief. He has
perfect faith in God Who is above all need, is related to none and is absolutely just.
The belief in La ilaha illallah creates an attitude of peace and contentment, purges
the mind of jealousy, envy and greed and keeps away the temptations of resorting
to base and unfair means for achieving success.
The most important effect of La ilaha illallah is that it makes man obey and
observe God's Law.

Aqeedae Risalat:
We believe that Allah has sent Messengers (and Prophets) to His
creation.
Allah, the Most High says:
"Messengers as bearers of good news as well as of warning in
order that mankind should have no plea against Allaah after the
Messengers. And Allaah is Ever AllPowerful, AllWise." SuratunNisa 4:165
The first Messenger was Adam (alaihis Salaam) and the last is
Muhammad (sallalaahu alaihi wassallam)
We believe that the first Messenger was Adam (alaihis Salaam)
and the last is Muhammad (sallalaahu alaihi wassallam).

Allah says:
"Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad) as We
inspired Nuh and the Prophets after him;" Suratun-Nisa

4:163
And He said:
"Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but
he is the Messenger of Allaah and the last (end) of the
Prophets." Suratul-Ahzab 33:40
All the Messengers were human beings, creation and
slaves of Allaah
We believe that all the Messengers (and Prophets) were
human beings created by Allaah. They did not possess
anything from the properties of Ruboobiyyat (Lordship).
And it is our belief that they ( the Messengers and
Prophets) are slaves of Allah who were honored with
prophethood and messengership by Allah. And He
mentioned about their virtue and merit at honored and
praised places.
Why is this belief important?
1) Prophets of Allah brought the same message at different
times, indicating Islam was from the beginning
2) brought the same message proving that Allah is unchanging
3) Islam is the true religion
4) all prophets prepared the way for the final prophet,
Muhammed

Overall, Muslims believe that Allah has chosen many prophets

to bring the message of Islam to people. This belief is known as
Risalah.
The prophets are so important to Islam because
they set examples of how to act.

Aqeedae

Akhirat :

The word khirah or Akhirat has a meaning of the ultimate, the

ending, finally. It has opposite meaning of before. In Islamic
literature, it is used to describe after life, life after death and the
other side
The world here is the place for the living things and the Akhirat
is the phase of afterlife. It is the ultimate home and residual
place for all of mankind.
Allah(j.j) indicated in Holy Quran that this world has been
created for temporal reasons. Finally, one day, everything in and
about this world will be destroyed, the whole earth along with
firmaments and mountains and grounds will be torn apart into
pieces.
The day on which men shall be as scattered moths,
And the mountains shall be as loosened wool. (Al-Qaria:101/45)
All forms of life we know will cease to exist except for Allah(j.j)
All that is on earth will perish:

But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty,
Bounty and Honour. (Ar-Rahman 55/26-27)
Hence, after this moment, the eternal phase of Akhirat,
afterlife will be initiated. It is a fardh to believe in Akhirat,
therefore it is an obligatory act and mindset for every Muslim to
believe in afterlife.
Muslims should also believe certain stages of Akhirat. These
stages are such events that have been foretold both in Holy
Quran and in hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad(saw)
1)
Pre-stage of akhira, where life in the grave starts just
after demise
2)
Resurrection from the graves and gathering of all humans
on doomsday
3)
Book of deeds are opened for each individual and all
humans are reminded of their life on earth.
4)
Mezaan, the scales are cast to measure the weight and
balance of both good and evil actions of each person.
5)
Passing of the bridge of Sirat if the person is destined to
enter Paradise.
6)

The good arrives in Paradise

7)

The bad is thrown to Hell

8)
Meeting of certain Muslims with Prophet
Muhammad(saw) along with the Pond of Kausar(Fount of
Abundance)

9)

Intercession of Prophet Muhammad(saw) for the Muslims.

Significance in Society:
Muslims seeks preservation or deliverance from any harm in the
hereafter by living a life according to Allah and Sunnah in this
world. The terror or fear of accountability in the next world,
along with the hope in the promise of Allah Almightys ultimate
justice, lead them to live their present life by completely doing
the worship of Allah which is true purpose of human existence.
In this way, they achieve in this short-term life for eternal joy.
