Grace Children’s Hospital

Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Post-Earthquake
Structural Engineering Report

April 21, 2010

We have preformed a brief preliminary inspection of the hospital buildings after an
earthquake occurred in Port-aux-Prince on January 12, 2010 which had the intensity of
7.2 on the Richter Scale. Our inspection was limited to a walk-through with visual
observations only since no building design documents such as architectural, structural
design drawings or geotechnical information were available to us. The location,
placement and footprint of the inspected buildings are shown on Sketch No. 1.

Both slabs are supported on two rows of inside round concrete columns, spaced at
approximately 5.5 metres in both directions.
