FED BY THE LORD

Jesus words This is my body and This cup is
the new covenant in my blood were only part of his
table blessing. Jesus twice said:
Do this in remembrance of
me (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25).
This is the good news of
todays solemnity. Like the five
thousand hungry souls, we are
fed by our Lord. This is not food
that satisfies for only a short
time, until the next meal. It is
food that lasts and changes us. It is food for sharing in
much the same way as Melchizedek did when he
brought bread and wine to the returning Abraham.
As children of Gods reign, we are blessed to be
able to receive and share Gods gift. And we do so in
the way most appropriate to our state in lifeas
parents, children, husbands, wives, or religious. Copyright

Memorial Day, May 30th 2016

The best of all celebrations of this day would mean a world at peace. In
remembering those who have given their lives, let us pray for end of unrest in
the world and Gods peace to all. Best Wishes and Blessings on this Memorial
Day and weekend to all parishioners and guests of St. Albert Church
from Fr. Michael L. Zoufal, Pastor, Assoc. Pastors; Fr. Anthony Brooks,
Fr. Marcin Szczypula, Fr. Leslaw Prebendowski, Deacon Irvin Bryce,
Deacon Raymundo Diaz De Leon and the Missionary Sisters of Christ the King.
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Once the early Christians realized that Christs coming in
glory was delayed, there was a need to provide for the governance and everyday needs of the church. The
various orders within the church carried forward the apostles ministry, but also allowed for a measure
of creativity. The sacrament we call holy orders evolved somewhat slowly. At first, it made sense for
Christians to use the forms they knew, adapting them to new situations. Synagogues, for example, were
administered by a board of elders, translated into Greek as presbyteros. We know from the Acts of the
Apostles that a system of presbyters was a normal feature of church life from earliest days. They stood in
relationship to another order, that of overseers, translated into Greek as episkopos, giving us the English
bishops. The bishop was the shepherd, the faithful tender of the flock, one who offered the Eucharist,
forgave sins, and maintained the bond of charity. Just as the deacons were the chief advisers for the
charitable life of the church, so were the presbyters meant to advise the bishop on the spiritual life of the
faithful. They were trusted advisers at first, not pastors or priests as we understand those terms today. Rev.
James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.

Prawie robi czasem nieskoczon rnic.
Moemy to zauway,
zestawiajc dwa podobne
zdarzenia z Ewangelii, z
ktrych oba maj miejsce
na pustkowiu.
Pierwsze z nich to scena
kuszenia Jezusa, w ktrej
diabe nakania Go do
przemiany kamieni w
chleb (k 4,1-4). Drugie to
scena z dzisiejszej Ewangelii, w ktrej Jezus czyni prawie to samo. W
pierwszym jednak przypadku, oprcz Chrystusa
i Jego przeciwnika, nie byo nikogo. Cud
przemiany kamieni w chleb suyby zaspokojeniu godu samego Jezusa. W drugim przypadku
cud wylewa si na rzesze zgromadzone dla suchania sowa Boego.
W scenie kuszenia diabe nakania Jezusa, aby
zademonstrowa sw powalajc si. Wie o
takim cudzie rozeszaby si szybko. cignaby

chce. Wiedzc, jak wany jest chleb, pragnie jednak, by ludzie najpierw poznali Boga, dlatego
gosi im nauk. To ona sprawia, e kto dzieli si
z innymi tym, co posiada. I dopiero wwczas cud
rozmnoenia chleba moe si dokona, bo ludzie
otwarli dla siebie swe serca. Zdolni s do wzajemnej troski i solidarnoci. Z bezksztatnego
tumu rodzi si wsplnota.
Moc Jezusa kruszy kamienne, czyli egoistyczne

Cud rozmnoenia zwykego chleba jest znakiem
oraz zapowiedzi wikszego cudu
eucharystycznego, o ktrym przypomina nam
dzisiejsza Uroczysto Najwitszego Ciaa i
Krwi Chrystusa. Podczas ostatniej wieczerzy
Jezus pod postaci chleba daje swym uczniom
siebie samego. A tym samym swoje Boskie ycie
