1. Prerequisites for NodeB Commissioning

The Node B hardware, such as the cabinet, cables, antenna feeders, and auxiliary devices, are
performed with the hardware installation checks.

The Node B cabinet is powered on and the RUN indicators on the boards are normal.

Node B LMT is installed on laptop to be used as client.

Change the IP address of Laptop in segment 17.21.2.0/24 Mask 255.255.255.0

Node B software is available.

Node B data configuration file in XML format is already prepared using WRAN CME tool
with all the parameter in negotiation and accordance with RNC Node B script and data
planning.

2. Version Requirements

The Node B version should be upgraded to V200R010C01B067SPCxxx.

The Version of Node B LMT should be V200R010C01B067 as shown in Figure 1.

The Version of CME for creating Node B script should be V100R005C01B070SPC002 .

3. Logging into Node B

Login into Node B through the commissioning port ETH on WMPT card in slot 7 in BBU.
Default IP address of commissioning port is 17.21.2.15 & Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

4. Software Upgradation

After logging into Node B through commissioning Port click the Maintenance tab as
shown in Figure 3 below.

The following window will open as shown in Figure 4.

Click the softwareManagement option and select Software upgrade option.

Click the Upgrade BOOTROM option to upgrade the BOOTROM software as shown
in Figure 5.

Select the options shown in figure 6 below.

Click the Browse option and select the path of the folder from where Node B
software is to be downloaded as shown in Figure 7.

Refer to example below for more clarification. This example is formy laptop,
you need to define path according to your laptop where you had saved the
Node B software.

Example:D:\3GTECHNOLOGY\SOFTWARE\DBS3900WCDMAV200R010C01B067\DBS390
0 WCDMA V200R010C01B067 VER\csp\Publish

Note:- BOOTROM and NodeB software is in publish folder.

After providing the folder path from where BOOTROM software is to be downloaded
click the START option and BOOTROM Software will start downloading.

If the dowlload is success the following message will be displayed as shown in

Figure 8 below.

Note:- You can check the details whether all the boards BOOTROM version is

upgraded or not by clicking the option View Details as shown below in fig.8.

After the execution succeed message is displayed as shown above press the
Previous tab to go back to previous menu and select the Upgrade Node B
Software as shown in Figure 9 below.

Now select the options as shown in Figure 10 and deselect all other options.

Select the path of destination folder from where Node B software is to be

downloaded same as BOOTROM software.
Example:D:\3GTECHNOLOGY\SOFTWARE\DBS3900WCDMAV200R010C01B067\DBS390
0 WCDMA V200R010C01B067 VER\csp\Publish

Note:- BOOTROM and NodeB software are in publish folder.

After defining the path of folder from Node B software is to be downloaded click the START

option and Node B Software will start downloading.

If the software upgradtion is successful the following message will be displayed

as shown in Figure 11.

Click the close tab to exit the software upgradation window.

Note:- You can check the details whether all the boards version is upgraded or not
by clicking the option View Details .

Note:- After the successful software upgradtion Node B will restart automatically for new
version to become effective and Node B version will be changed to new version i.e
V200R010C01B067SPCxxx and LAN connection will be disconnected for some time wait
for LAN connection to become before you run the XML data configuration file.

5. Data Configuration File

Now select the data file transfer option in the Software management tree as shown
in the figure 12 below.

Only select the options as shown in figure 12 and deselect all other options.

After selecting the above option click the Browse option and define the path of
folder where Node B XML configuration file is save.

After defining the path click the Start option and Node B XML script will start
running and progress meter will show the progress.

After successful execution of data configuration the following message will be

displayed as shown in Figure 13.

6. Verifying whether Node B Commissioning is Successful.

Now Node B is commissioned and we need to check whether the physical link
between Node B and RNC is ok.

First confirm with RNC engineer whether He/She had already run the script or data
configuration file for IuB interface on RNC side or not.

If not ask him/her to run the script for IuB interface.

Ask Him /Her to activate the Cells corresponding the this Node B.

Run Command DSP E1T1

When this link is ok.

Check whether Locell is available or not by running the command DSP LOCELL

If the cell state is available and Enabled, then we can start call testing.

Node B commissioning is successful.Cheers!!!!!!!!!

If locell is not available we need to do the troubleshooting and check the items from
top to bottom.

If there is still some problem and cell is not setup and enabled, contact the RAN
Expert in your circle for online support.
