Thehearingimpairmentadverselyaffectsthedevelopmentof
expressiveand/orreceptivelanguageandcommunication.
Thehearingimpairmentadverselyaffectsthestudentseducational
performance,andrequiresspecialeducationtomeetthestudents
needs.
CaliforniaHardofHearingCriteria
:

Acurrentaudiologicalevaluationcompletedbyaqualifiedaudiologist.Allnondistrict
assessmentshavebeenreviewedbyaDistrictEducationalAudiologist.
Thehearingimpairment,withoutamplification,makesitdifficultforthe
studenttoaccesslanguagecommunicationthroughhearing,butthe
impairmentisnotofalevelofseveritytoestablisheligibilityunderthe
definitionofDeafness.
Thehearingimpairment,whetherpermanentorfluctuating,adverselyaffects
expressiveand/orreceptivelanguageandcommunication.
Theimpairmentadverselyaffectsthestudentseducationalperformance,and
requiresspecialeducationtomeetthestudentsneeds.
SpeechLanguageImpairments:
Allelementslistedbelowmustbedeterminedtoestablisheligibility.
Thestudentsdisorder,basedonanassessmentbyalanguage,speechand
hearingspecialist,meetsoneormoreofthefollowingcriteria:
