HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 31-33; Acts 17
Monday, July 4

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS TEACHING

Chronological Bible Reading: Job 34-36; Acts 18
Tuesday, July 5

Heb. 10:19-20 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the
blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that
is to say, his flesh;
Great God and Father:
Tearing the veil laid-open the secret place of the temple. That tear from
top to bottom, though a narrow way, gives ample room for all who are called to
enter. Oh, that the Spirit of God would lead even now, __________ and
_________ into the closest fellowship a mortal being can have with infinite God!
Exodus 19:12 And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take
heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth
the mount shall be surely put to death:
The Old Testament law was an ordinance of distance. The place of people
was one of distance. There was no invitation to draw near. The spirit of the law
was one of reverent separation.
All that is over now. The invitation is,
Matt. 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest.
Yet some of Gods people still worship afar off, though no veil remains.
Help me Holy Spirit, to draw near boldly with a full assurance of faith, because
Jesus brings me as close to God as he himself is. No law forbids me, but as a
result of his cross infinite love invites me. I take advantage of it even in this time
of prayer. Why do I not take advantage of it more often?
Sin is the only divider Lord, between you and me. You are omnipresent,
and so not far from anyone, but sin is an effective wall of separation. I claim
Christs blood to cast down that wall right now, in Jesus holy name. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Job 40-42; Acts 20
Thursday, July 7

Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added
unto you.

I COUNTED dollars, while God counted crosses;

I counted gains, while God counted losses.
I counted my worth, my things gained in store;
And He sized me up by the scars that I bore.
I counted honors and sought degrees,
He counted the hours I spent on my knees.
I never knew until one day by the grave,
How vain are the things that we spend life to save.
I did not know, till a Friend from above
Said, Richest is he who is rich in Gods love!

Matt. 22:42 Saying, What think ye of Christ?

Heavenly Father:
The greatest test of anyones soul-health is, What think ye of Christ? What
think the people I come into contact with each week? Is he, fairer than the children of
menthe chief among ten thousandthe altogether lovely? Do let me be shy about asking
them, because wherever Christ is esteemed the spiritual man has life. I can judge
people by this barometer: does Christ stand high or low in their estimation?
O Lord, I know so many people who think so little of Christ! They are
content to live without his daily presence. They care little to honor him in their
hearts. They neglect his commands. Their souls are sick, Lord! God grant they
may not be sick unto death.
Lets make this the summer they get saved! Make the first thought of their
spirit, How can I know Jesus? Let the daily desire of their soul be, O that I knew where
I might find Him! And then help me direct them by your grace. Make the Savior
great in their esteem, and self low in their esteem.
Right now they care for clothing, but what think they of his royal apparel?
Right now they care about their own hurts, but what think they of his bleeding
side? Are his drops of blood like glittering rubies in their esteem? Right now they
think of their own poverty, but what think they of the King in his beauty? Does
he have a glorious high throne in their hearts? Will they set him higher as a
result of contact with me? Make it so! I would be willing to die if I could add
another trumpet to the strain that proclaims the praise of Jesus.
Matt. 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is
well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.
Make Christ great to others through me this summer. Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 1-3; Acts 21
Friday, July 8

1 Kings 9:2-3 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had
appeared unto him at Gibeon. And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy
supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built,
to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
O Lord Our God:
No matter what level of spiritual maturity, we need fresh manifestations
and new visitations from on high. We need fresh oil! It is right for us to thank
you for the past, and look back in joy at your visits in earlier days, but we seek
you for a special appearance, your renewed presence right now in our midst.
We seek to daily walk in the light of your countenance. But while an ocean
has its high tides twice every day, it also has its low tides. The sun does shine
even if we do not see it, and though there is spring fog there is also summer
brightness. We walk with you constantly, but yet there are special occasionslike
the events of summer holidayswhere we pray for a special visitation, where you
open your heart and manifest yourself and let us see your glory.
Not every day in a palace is a banqueting day. Not all days with God are so
clear and glorious as certain special conferences and services. We are happy we
beheld your face in past summers, and August outreach. But we are happier still if
you will come to us once again in the fullness of your favor, in the freshness of
your power, and in the moving of your Spirit among us.
We seek your second appearance! We do not need to be saved again, but
speak to us again. We need the windows of heaven opened once more! We need
the Holy Spirit to drop-down and renew our strength in your Purpose. We ask
thatjust like you did for Solomonyou answer, above and beyond what we ask
or think, with a second appearance. Do this for Jesus sake and glory. Amen.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Job 37-39; Acts 19
Wednesday, July 6

Ezek. 11:16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far
off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to
them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.
Merciful God and Father:
Oh, thats how I feel sometimes! I feel like an exile to grace, cast-off in my
cubicle, all alone in a crowdbut I am not banished from your presence. You are
to me in those moments everything I could have had if trials had not come. If I
am called to wander, then I can call on you to revive me.
v You are a place of refuge to me. I find sanctuary with you from
every enemy.
v You are a place of worship to me. When Jacob slept in the open
field he had to confess when he arose, Surely God was in this place. So you
manifest your presence in my field of work and worry, and turn even the
mundane place into hallowed ground.
v You are a sanctuary of peace to me. The Holy of Holies was a
noiseless habitation for God. How many times, if I just turn my thoughts to
Christ and pray, does he calm the storm of my life?
Prov. 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from
fear of evil.
v You are, in Christ Jesus, a sanctuary of mercy to me. Jesus is my
ark. This is revival! The mercy seat, Aarons rod of fruitfulness, the pot of
manna for sustenance, and the tables of the law for truth, are all in Christ,
my sanctuary.
You are to me a shrine of holiness and communion. What more do I need
for revival but you? Fulfill your will through my life, in Jesus name. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 4-6; Acts 22
Saturday, July 9

Psa. 107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Savior and Sovereign King:
It seems tornado season is always on us. Not all of us have the same deep
experiences, but I know the reason you send me through deep trouble is so I can
be equipped to serve you that much better. It is in the deep that I can see the
wonders of your grace and the majesty of your mercy more clearly.
I sail over the seas of inward depravity. I navigate the waters of financial
poverty. I am burdened by the billows of persecution. Then there are the rough
waves of temptation. When I need you above all else, I find you in the midst of
my storms. Doubts, fears, pressures and anxiety lift up their heads like so many
angry waves. Then there are billows of blows from the wind to put me off
balance in my reactions.
But prayer is the best port in a storm. I can be staggering and reeling, and at
my wits end, and still pray. Let me state my faith so the Devil can listen: God will
hear me in spite of the thunder, and answer me out of the storm.
You reveal your power best in the sudden and marvelous changes that
occur at your bidding. You command the storm, so you are able to order the
calm. And when you make peace, it is peace indeed (Phil. 4:6-7)! You can change
the condition of my mind in a moment. It is a miracle when my mental state goes
so quickly from hurricane to calm.
Psa. 107:43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the
lovingkindness of the LORD.
I am storm-beaten by outward troubles and inward fears. Lord, say the
word, and peace will come immediately, even if my outward situation stays the
same. Bring me grace that I might bring you glory today, for Jesus sake. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
