as well as tness and health.
Every lesson has as its focus artistic expression and
cultural literacy (in Music and Art), Move to Learn,
Learn to Move for lifelong tness (in Physical
Education), and desirable health habits for lifelong
wellness (in health).
All discussions in the book are made for the learners
purpose of being and becoming in the world of work
and responsibility.

This is patterned after the curriculum guide of DepEd

wherein nurturing and rening learners artistic
expression and cultural literacy are its philosophical
goals.

The textbook satises the K-12 curriculum of the

Department of Education in form and substance. It
includes the essential topics of music, arts, physical
education and health.
Each component contains four (4) units as represented
in a quarterly basis.

It follows logically sequenced stages of learning through
a conceptual process of solving routine and non-routine
problems.

Although it was patterned after the DepEd K-12

curriculum, the textbook still lacks some elements from
the content of the K-12 curriculum.
To exemplify, the content in Music 7 is about the music
from dierent provinces in the Philippines while the
content on the textbook are about the rudiments of
music in the 1st to 3rd unit and the Philippine music is only
on the 4th unit.

The Music 8 content is purely about music in the

dierent countries as Asia while on the textbook there
is a inclusion of Philippine theater zarzuela in the fourth
unit.

The Music 9 content is all about the history of western

music. However, in the unit 1 of the textbook, it started
with the renaissance period instead of the medieval
period in accordance to the K-12 curriculum.
Further, in unit 4 of the textbook, it covers about the
opera music from the dierent periods instead of having
vocal music in the Romantic period based from the K-12
curriculum.

The Music 10 content should be about music in the

Contemporary period but the unit 2 of the texbook
covers about the popular music from the 60s to the
present instead of having the African and Latin
American music based on the K-12 curriculum.

able to recognize the beauty of music and the arts, as well
as the importance of health and tness as the
embodiment of a whole and complete person.

Through the used of digital format materials, it conforms
to 21st century teaching and learning.
Through the used of Audio CD and companion websites, it
integrates technology and student-centric activities.

Even though the textbook contains various interactive
activities, it still lacks having follow up assessments and
purposive assignment.
