4. 2; Ladys mothers husband = ladys father, ladys fathers

7. 4; Here, we study all the options one by one. Reject 1) as
the gender of K is not known. Reject 2) for the same
reason as 1). Reject 3) as K is the maternal uncle of R.
Now, in the option 4), R is the father of J, J is the sister
of K and K is the brother of M. Hence, K is son of R.

(1014):

17. 5; Conversion of statement (a) gives conclusion II.

Hence, conclusion II follows. Again statement (a) +
statement (b) gives conclusion III [ A + E = E]. Hence,
conclusion III follows. Conclusion I follows from conversion of conclusion III. Hence, All follow.
18. 4; Conclusion II follows from conversion of statement
(a). Now, statement (b) + conversion of statement (a)
gives no conclusion [ A + I = no conclusion]. Hence,
conclusions I and III do not follow. But conclusion I
and conclusion III make an IE-type complementary
pair. Hence either conclusion I or conclusion III follows.
19. 4; Statement (a) + Statement (b) gives no conclusion
[ I + I = no conclusion]. Therefore, conclusion I
does not follow. Again conversion of statement (b)
gives the conclusion Some rods are lamps. Hence,
conclusions II and III do not follow.
20. 5; Shyam is shorter than Madan as well as Rohit. In the
other group, Vipin and Vivek are taller than Akash and
Ahmed respectively. Now if Rohit or Vipin or Vivek do
not occupy the first position it means it is Madan
who is the tallest. Second is of course, Rohit. Beyond
this we cant proceed with certainty.
21. 2; Here the given numbers are:
517 325 639 841 792
After reversing, the numbers become as follows:
715 523 936 148 297
When arranged in descending order the numbers become as follows:
936 715 523 297 148
Now, the third number from top is 523. Hence, the last
digit of 523 is 3.
22. 4; After interchanging the first and the second digits,
numbers become as follows:
157 235 369 481 972
When arranged in descending order the numbers become as follows:
972 481 369 235 157
Here, the second lowest number is 235.
Hence, middle digit of 235 is 3.
23. 1; If the positions of only the second and the third digits within each number are interchanged, the numbers
become as follows:
571 352 693 814 729
Now, when the numbers are arranged in descending
order, we get
814 729 693 571 352
Here, 729 is the second highest number. Hence, the
first digit of 729 is 7.

4 occurs 3 times; 5 occurs 2 times; 6 occurs 2 times; 7

Clearly, the frequency of 5, 6 and 8 is the same i.e., 2.
(2630): We have information that Fs flat is second to the
right of Js flat, which is exactly opposite of Cs flat
facing North. Thus, we get
F
J

C
Again, we have information that Ds flat is on the
immediate left of Js flat whereas As flat is on the
immediate left of Cs flat. Thus, we get
Oe two ends of the same row. This implies that the
flats of both I and E can be in the same row in which
the flats of B, C and A are.
Thus, we get two such cases:
F
J D
