ENHANCING ATTITUDE ON GUIDANCE WORK OF CLASSROOM

IN DONA JUANA CHIOCO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
In the absence of guidance counselor in an school, classroom
teachers perform guidance work under
non centralized guidance
organization. Every teacher is a guidance teacher/counselor.

Introductio
n

The guidance components function is best when there is appropriate


reasonable identification of perception on guidance work of class advisers
in Dona Juana Chioco National High School in terms of the extent of the
need to undertake guidance work, the extent of understanding guidance
and the guidance responsibilities being undertaken and guidance tools
being used, if any.
It is therefore the concern of every elementary teacher, especially
class advisers, to have right perceptions of guidance work in order to
provide better assistance to their pupils.

Class advisers do not have good perception about guidance work in


terms of extent of the need to undertake guidance, the extent of
undertaking guidance and the guidance responsibilities being undertaken
and guidance tools being used, if any.
For the past five years the researcher observed that seldom class
advisers undertake guidance work. There were no guidance forms used to
know more and understand their pupils. It was being questioned whether
class advisers are most aware of their guidance responsibilities and
guidance tools.
No description of the perception on guidance work of class advisers in
Dona Juana Chioco National High School
1. Socio-demographic characteristics affect awareness of class advisers in
Dona Juana Chioco National High School on guidance work.
2. Class advisers need to undertake guidance work.
3. Class advisers undertake guidance work.
4. Class advisers are aware of guidance tools.
5. Class advisers do not perform their guidance responsibilities.
In order to know the perception on guidance work of class advisers of
Dona Juana Chioco National High School a survey questionnaire will be
developed (see attachment) and to be administered after the proposal is
endorsed by the School Principal to the District Supervisor and forwarded
to and approved by Schools Division Superintendent.

relative to the action to be undertaken by the school.
