Bacheri Spruce
In order for us to prepare for the upcoming season, we have made several changes at
the nursery. To begin with, we would like to officially welcome some new members to
the Leo Gentry Nursery team. Brenda Schellenberg has added her experience to our
customer service team; Aaron Romero has been busy printing tags in our custom tag
department; and Samantha Hodge handles the busy phones and reception area. We are
delighted to have all three of them on our team.
We have received feedback from many of you that you would like to see increased
availability in our #2 and #5 shrubs. So in response to this, we have focused on these
sizes and now have good depth and variety in our #2 and #5 shrub program. We also
now have a wide selection of premium named fruit trees to add to our already extensive
tree program. We are proud to offer additional Proven Winners varieties. Check out our
expanded Proven Winners Program on page 58.
We have decided to discontinue the rebate program that we have offered over the past
few years and have introduced our new discount program. This new program will
allow us to offer you a discount upfront when you order rather than waiting until June.
The full details of this program are explained on page 8.
Another change that we are offering to help you grow your business is our new custom
tag program. We can print custom price tags with your company name, retail price and
UPC code for you upon request and have them on your plants when the truck arrives.
This will allow you to begin selling the plants immediately! Please check on page 9 or
give us a call at the nursery for further information regarding this program.
Please remember that when you are coming to Oregon, please give us a call to set up a
time for a personalized tour to ensure you get the VIP treatment. We’d love to show
you around the nursery.
We truly value you as a customer and appreciate any feedback or suggestions that you
may have. If there is anything that we can be doing to better serve your needs, please
let us know.
Sincerely,
Leo Gentry II

goal was to bring the highest quality plant material to the nursery industry through
hard work and the best possible customer service. We have grown quite a bit since
1977 but we are first and foremost, a family owned company that is constantly
striving to earn our customers trust and satisfaction. We are very proud of the tra-
dition that Leo Sr. began and we work hard every day to make this goal a reality.

The red bark varieties listed below are all double grafted plants. First, the redbark inner-stock standard (Prunus
serrula - Birch Bark Cherry) is grafted onto the rootstock, and allowed to grow for two seasons; then the
flowering cherry variety is top grafted the following season. What results is a lovely specimen with peeling bark
similar in nature to that of an Acer griseum (paperbark maple) but much brighter red in appearance. The result
takes an extra year to produce, but it’s worth the wait.
