Course overview: Weight Training is designed for students who are serious about improving their
strength, speed, quickness, agility, and overall body composition. The goals for the student during this course
will be to
1. Gain knowledge of spotting and lifting techniques
2. To improve overall body composition
3. To leave this course with the ability to train on their own and maintain a healthy level of fitness
Prerequisites:
Weight Training: Must have passed freshman PE I or II with a C or higher.

Dress-Down Policy
A loaner shirt and shorts will be provided in the event that you forget your clothes.
o 1st unexcused non-dress = Student Conversation
o 2nd unexcused non-dress = referral to counselor
Absences:
A doctors note is required to excuse you, if you cannot participate due to illness or injury.
An unexcused non-dress or absence results is the loss of participation points for the day.
Make-up assignments for excused absences are available from individual instructors.
Students will only be allowed 6 make-ups per trimester for unexcused absences.
Assessment/evaluation/grading policy:
Points are awarded for daily participation, attitude, effort, and assessments taken during the class time. All
points are accumulated into a trimester grade. The criteria for awarding points will be as follows:
20 points per day for attendance/participation/effort/attitude
5 assessments consisting of 10-100 points each
100 99% = A+
89%= B+
79= C+
98-92%= A
88-82%= B
72-78%= C
91-90%= A81 80%= B71-70%= C-
69%= D+
68-62%= D
61-60%= D-
59% or below= F
