Usual College policies regarding appropriate documentation apply for absences during
exam periods.
Doctors Certificate must cover ALL THE DAYS a student is unavailable to sit the exam.
Students should attend school on the FIRST DAY they are well, regardless of whether
they have an exam scheduled. They should expect to sit the exam or an alternative task
on the day they come to school.
See over for further conditions
All students must present to exams in complete school uniform, appropriate hairstyle, clean shaven etc.
Students are permitted to bring a clear bottle of water into an exam. No food is permitted in the exam
room.
Students must surrender all notes/paper from their person before they enter the exam room. Failure to do
this may be considered a breach of examination procedures.
Students will be required to turn off mobile phones and place them on the floor in clear view of the
supervisors. Turn off does not mean turn phone to silent it means power off. Any phone which receives a
call or a message during the exam period will be confiscated.
Students wishing to go to the toilet during an exam will be escorted by the exam supervisor. It is expected
that students should make arrangements before they enter the exam room so they will not need to leave at
any stage.
Students will not be allowed to leave for the toilet in the first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes of
the examination.
Students who are LATE FOR AN EXAM will enter the exam room on arrival and use the remaining time to
complete their exam. Please note:
o NO EXTRA TIME WILL BE ALLOCATED
o Exceptional circumstances may be considered but these will be regarded on the same basis as
the NSW Board of Studies. Misreading an exam timetable is not considered a sufficient excuse.
Students WILL NOT be permitted to leave an exam before the allocated finish time.
Students who are sick during an exam are advised to obtain a medical certificate immediately upon
completing the exam. Special consideration in the marking stage will only be granted on presentation of
medical certificate and completing the Purple Form.
Any student absent for an exam must obtain a MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. The student should:
o Attend school on the first day he is well and organise an alternative time to complete the task. He
should attend regardless of whether he has an exam on that day. He SHOULD NOT wait until
the day of his next scheduled exam as the Medical Certificate may not cover him for that period.
o Expect to complete the task on the day he arrives to arrange an alternative time.

o Assisting other students during an exam

A student may receive a 100% penalty for breaching examination procedures.
