Autobiomathography
An autobiomathography is a lot like your life history except that it is focused
on mathematics in your life.
You will write three paragraphs about yourself. This will help your teacher
and others get to know you as an individual. It should address these three
general topics: you, you as a student, and you as a math student. Remember
to use complete sentences and make sure your work is legible. The final draft
should be typed, or neatly hand-written. Read below to guide your writing.
Components:
Paragraph 1: YOU
Introduce yourself, using the name you like to be called. What languages do
you speak? Describe your hobbies, talents, and interests. State your learning
goals for this year, and your dreams of what it means to be successful in 5 th
grade. What are you proud of? What else would you like to share?
Paragraph 2: YOU AS A STUDENT
Describe the importance of school in your life. Describe yourself as a
student. Possible ideas to include:
Describe a memorable moment in math and explain why you remember it.
State your favorite math topic. Name your least favorite.
Explain how you feel about math this year. What grade do you expect to earn
in this class? How are you still trying to improve?
