Student Group: Yellow kids

Performance Across ALL

Standards/Concepts/Areas

Performance On Specific
Standards/Concepts/Areas

How did students do on the data that is being focused

upon as a whole?

How did students do in specific areas? On old/new

material?

What are our overall successes? Students that

are in the yellow are making progress.

Which skills/standards did all or most of our

students perform well on across each grade
level?

What are our overall concerns? Red kids

MATH, all grades did well in Math

In which particular grades are students
performing well?
1st grade did very well in math. 34 kids are
green.

In which particular grades are students NOT

performing well? Kindergarten has 28 kids in
the red for TRC, because they are nonreader. Many of the kids did not attend
preschool, so they are lacking in basis
skills, such as letter and sounds

On which questions/standards did our students

NOT perform well across each grade level?
TRC-has the most RED scores.
Kindergarten has 28 kids in the red for
TRC, because they are non-reader. Many
of the kids did not attend preschool, so
they are lacking in basis skills, such as
letter and sounds

What patterns are emerging? What trends do you

see?
Students in the RED, also have poor
attendance, and no parent support

What patterns are emerging? What trends do

you see?
Parent, peer, AARP, and teacher support-Multiple support tools seems to be the trend

TEACHER TEAM should respond to the

following four questions:

_

TEACHER TEAM USE ONLY

Q1: In which particular classrooms are students

performing well?

A1:

1st grade did very well in math. 34 kids are

green. They also have only 1 kid in the
RED for math

Q2: In which particular classrooms are students

NOT

______________________________________________

A2:

performing well? Kindergarten and 2nd

has 16 kids in the RED for Math, 2nd has 16
kids in the RED for DIBELS, and 25 kids in
the RED for TRC.
Q3: What are the teams thoughts on why the
problem
exists? (Remember to concentrate on what
is in your
sphere of control) Many kindergarteners
in room 108 did not attend preschool, so it
is very hard to them to close that gap of
knowledge they missed. 2nd grade has a
very large class size, which could be they
cause of their RED scores.

A4:

Q4: What practice will teachers implement

immediately to
address areas of concern and what
performance
measure will be utilized to ensure the goal
has been
met? More small group instruction, that
seems to work best to meet the needs of
the students.

Root Causes 1

Yellow kids are making progress towards

green. Red kids are making a little progress,
but may not be enough to reach the yellow
goal for EOY. Small group instruction is in
place in grades K-2, for reading/phonics and
math, it is working all yellow kids and some
red kids are improving.

Root Causes 2

Most of the RED kids, also have poor

attendance and little or no parent support, so
the teacher will call home every time they are
absent and remind parent of attendance and
support is needed at home to be successful in
school. If after school is being offered, we will
recommend yellow kids for the additional
support.

Note: You have uncovered a root cause when you reach an answer that you can concretely define, tackle,
and resolve.

and

root
causes?
Do they
directly
impact
instruction?

Multiple support tools seem to be working. Students need more

than one support person or more than one activity to reach some
level of success. Small group instruction is another positive in the
primary classrooms, also Fundations, Leveled Readers, and
Heggerty have been great tools in the students success.
